Billie Jean

Meet Billie Jean, a 1-year-old Blue Tick Coonhound mix who is playful, goofy, and always ready to be part of the action. She loves walks, treats, toys, and making the rounds to check in on all of her neighborhood friends. Billie does well with kids, cats, and other dogs, and especially enjoys having a playful canine buddy who can match her energy. She can be a little shy with new people or unfamiliar places, but once she warms up, she is incredibly sweet and affectionate.

Billie is high-energy, treat-motivated, leash trained, and potty trained. She would happily walk the same two blocks all day if you let her, and she loves playing with other dogs. She does best with dogs who enjoy her lanky, enthusiastic play style and is very respectful when another animal gives her a correction. Billie would likely thrive in a home with another larger dog to help show her the ropes. She does have separation anxiety and can be quite vocal when left alone, so a home without shared walls would be ideal.

Billie came into care underweight and scared, and while she has made great progress, she will need a patient family willing to help her continue building confidence and security. She is also heartworm positive and has already completed the first half of treatment. Her future family will need to help her finish treatment with veterinary guidance, which is included in her adoption fee. If you are looking for a loyal shadow with velvet ears, a big personality, and a whole lot of love to give, Billie Jean may be your girl.
