PHOENIX
This beautiful puppy Phoenix and his brother were brought into an East Texas Shelter that we work with; as soon as we got the call and the photos he got vetted and quarantined and is ready for a FOREVER home!

Read more about Phoenix

Phoenix is around 14 to 15 weeks old. He’s had two rounds of shots dewormed several times has been being kept in Foster as an indoor family pet where he’s also become crate trained and 90% housebroken.

Phoenix is really playful. He has an above average energy level - it’s normal for a puppy. It’s just seven or eight out of 10. Phoenix absolutely loves playing with his little brother and the big Foster dogs that he’s been staying with!

Phoenix is smart and eager to please; he’s just learning some commands and all about fetch and retrieve.

Phoenix is also a cuddler; he’s still young enough of a puppy where he runs around for 15 or 20 minutes then he’s wiped out for a few hours for a good nap and there’s nothing he loves more than hanging with his humans!

Beautiful Phoenix will be at DASH in Dallas this weekend. We are hoping to find the right family for him for this Halloween and daylight savings weekend!
It will be darker. It will be colder. What could be better than a puppy to warm up you and your family!

Ideally, he would go to a home with another young, active playful dog he, he’s a great playmate and Canine Companion

Skylar is a loving and adorable Aussie blue heeler mix whose blue eyes will fill your heart and soul.
Skylar, 4 years old, was adopted18 months ago and her family adores her. She has a sweet loving nature and loves to be around her people.
However, her owner has a high risk pregnancy and have very limited activity and she and her husband are very worried that even after the pregnancy Skylar is going to continue to need the attention and affection she is used to.
Skylar has very balanced indoor and outdoor behavior. Indoors Skyler can be very chill; he will play with toys or watch a movie with you or lie around on the floor with a high value chewy toy.
Outdoors Skyler’s energy is also equitable; she’s as fun and outgoing as you want her to be. She is ALWAYS ready to play and go on walks. She can go on leisurely leash walks and/or be a jogging buddy. activities. With other dogs, hiking, swimming, and exploring Skylar‘s energy could be limitless but she will still come when called and behave well in outdoor group settings.
Skylar knows a few tricks and commands and she’s an eager learner and very food motivated so she’ll be a fun dog to train to do more tricks and obedience work.
Skylar loves to come curl up with you on the couch and loves attention.
Skylar has been very tolerant with our young kids and when she hasn't liked something they're doing she'll lick their faces or move away to get them to stop.
Skyler’s very cuddly and snuggly; she has a funny habit where when she is hungry, she'll put her head on my lap while I'm eating to signal that she wants to eat too, so I'll fill up her bowl.
Skylar has never demonstrated food aggression or resource guarding even with another dog in the home. She was really great with our foster puppies!
Skylar loves to roll around in the grass; crosses her front paws when she's upright and looks so cute and proper.
Skylar has always been friendly when we meet other dogs on walks and she did fantastic with our foster puppies.
It is with broken hearts we have decided it’s best to rehome Skylar so that she can regain the attention she’s used to having . Since we have had children in the past couple of years, it’s been a lot more challenging to take Skylar on the amount of walks that she deserves, so she may need a refresher course in leash training, but she will learn quickly be respectful and become a pleasure again to take on walks.
With her balanced energy, juxtaposed, ears, and beautiful light ice-blue eyes Scarlett will take no time to ruin your heart.

MEET KATIE A Loving Australian Shepherd and Cattle Dog Mix
Katie is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd–Australian Cattle Dog mix who has been patiently waiting for her person, couple, or family to find her. She has watched so many of the dogs in her shelter-foster home come and go, and EVERYONE on staff—from volunteers to animal control officers, vet techs, and fosters—agrees. It’s absolutely time for Katie to have a family to love her!
Katie is the perfect medium-sized combination of two wonderful breeds, weighing just 45 pounds fully grown.
Katie is very mellow once she settles in. When she first comes out of her kennel, she may run off a few initial zoomies, but after that, she is content to relax and play with her toys. And Katie absolutely LOVES toys! Stuffed toys, hard chews, squeaky toys, crinkle toys—she enjoys them all!
More About Katie
* Mellow and affectionate: Katie settles in nicely and enjoys spending time with her people.* A toy lover: She is happy to play with just about any kind of toy.* Great with dogs: Katie enjoys having canine friends.* Respectful of cats: She has lived appropriately around cats.* Wonderful on leash: Volunteers say she walks beautifully.* Gentle with treats: Katie takes treats politely.* Excellent kennel manners: She rarely has an accident in her kennel.* Communicative: When she is in the office, she vocalizes to let staff know when she needs to go outside.
The Animal Control Officers say Katie is one of their favorites and that she is the whole package! She is a special girl with so much love and companionship to offer.
Katie will need a thoughtful and patient adopter who understands the importance of decompression, including the 3-3-3 rule. She is very responsive to the energy level of her people and often uses body language to communicate.
Katie has shown herself to be great with dogs, respectful of cats, and a wonderful companion once she has settled in and become comfortable in her new environment.
Could Katie Be Your Girl?
Katie has spent far too long waiting for someone to see what a wonderful dog she is. She would love a home where she can enjoy her toys, relax with her people, go for walks, and continue building confidence at her own pace.
If you are looking for a mellow, playful, dog-friendly companion with excellent manners and a HUGE love of toys, Katie may be the perfect match for you!

Cute, Cuddly COPPER!
Copper is an ADORABLE dog and a loving furry friend! Unfortunately, his owner was recently relocated to a station in Japan and, heartbreakingly, was unable to bring Copper along.
When Copper lived with his original owner, she worked from home and was able to spend lots of time with him throughout the day.

Read more about Copper

He is currently staying with her mother, who works long hours in the medical field and has an unpredictable schedule.
Without a consistent human presence, Copper has become increasingly anxious and insecure. We are hoping to find him a home where he can receive the time, attention, and companionship he deserves.
Wonderful With Other Dogs!
Copper is fantastic with canine companions! He grew up with a Shiba Inu and currently lives alongside a Border Collie and a Mountain Dog. He has a great history of living with other dogs, making him a wonderful candidate for a home with friendly canine siblings.
A 10/10 Out and About!
When it comes to getting out and about, Copper is a 10/10! His owner describes him as AMAZING in public places. He enjoys experiencing the world around him and is a wonderful companion for outings and adventures. His leash skills could use a little refresher, but that’s something his new family can work on with him.
The Best of Both Worlds!
Copper has the ideal energy level for an Aussie. He’s happy to chill when you want to relax and ready to play when you’re in the mood for fun!
He LOVES tennis balls and playing catch, but he also has a sweet, cuddly side. When it’s time to settle in at home, Copper is more than happy to snuggle up beside his favorite human.
Could You Be Copper’s Person?
Copper is an AMAZING boy who simply needs a patient, compassionate home where he can feel secure and loved again. He would thrive in a household where his people are home more consistently and he can enjoy the companionship of both humans and, ideally, other friendly dogs throughout the day.
His circumstances have changed through no fault of his own, and he deserves a fresh start with a family who understands how much love, companionship, and reassurance he needs.
If you’re looking for a fun-loving, dog-friendly Aussie with a playful spirit and a heart full of cuddles, Copper might just be your perfect match!

MEET ANGEL – A LITTLE MIRACLE LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME!
Angel has one of the most incredible stories we’ve had since starting our rescue, and we would love nothing more than to help her find the loving forever home she deserves.
Her story began when a kind couple found her in a very rural area. She was only 7–8 days old and weighed barely one or two pounds. Against all odds, this tiny baby survived. The couple rushed her to their veterinarian, where she received the care and medical attention she needed to stabilize and grow stronger. They lovingly cared for her throughout six weeks until their veterinarian cleared Angel.
The couple who rescued Angel fell completely in love with her, but they had never intended to keep her. Their only goal was to save her life, and they did just that! Now, at approximately 14 months old, Angel is ready for the next chapter of her life: finding her very own forever family!
A little about Angel: At around 38 pounds, Angel is a smaller, medium-sized girl who is already full grown.
She is likely a mix of several breeds, but she strongly resembles a Dutch Shepherd, with her beautiful coloring and brindle coat. We suspect she may also have some Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) in her mix. She has some of those classic Heeler characteristics, including liking to know where everyone is in the house! She's NOT an active herder, though.
Angel is incredibly sweet, affectionate, cuddly, and loving. She absolutely enjoys being close to her people.
Angel is very praise-driven and also motivated by treats and food, which makes her a wonderful candidate for learning new tricks and commands.
Angel is comfortable being left home during the day. Her foster works long hours a few days a week, and Angel does just fine on her own. She is also familiar with using a doggie door.
Angel has lived with other dogs while in foster care, but we believe she would be happiest as someone's only dog. She spent the first year of her life in a home where she was the only dog, and we think that is the environment where she would truly thrive.
Angel's baby photo will be added to this thread, so you can see just how tiny this little survivor was when her journey began.
It's hard to believe that the fragile little puppy who fought so hard to survive is now a beautiful, happy young dog, ready to give someone a lifetime of love.
We are really hoping to find that special person or family who will open their heart and home to Angel. She has already overcome so much in her short life. Now it's her turn to be someone's beloved family member, to be spoiled, cherished, and loved forever.
Could you be Angel's happily-ever-after?If you have room in your heart and home for this very special girl, please complete our adoption application on our website:

Blaze is a beautiful calm and quiet Aussie border collie mix Who would be perfect for a single person who wants a buddy by His or her Side.
Blaze came from the tiny town of Tulia, Texas Where he had been at their impound and shelter a few weeks.

Read more about Blaze

He’s so gentle and quiet he was prioritized to be kept alive to wait for the right Rescue group; They don’t do adoptions directly.
As soon as I saw him I fell in love with his extremely unique markings and gentle looking face.
He rarely barks And he gets along with all of the dogs, both of mine and Foster dogs that have come in and out for a night or two.
Blaze is really ready for a forever home with someone, compassionate and patient. He’s just been living indoors for the past month and will need time for a lease training and other group activities.
Right now he’d be the ideal Companion for a home with or without another dog and he shows no prey drive as far as cats. Blaze is very gentle, but doesn’t seem like he would be very fun for children.
Blaze is housebroken, he does not need a crate, is very affectionate with people he knows and just calm and quiet with new faces.
I really hope the right person will find his listing and share his listing because he deserves a full fun and eventually active life Which is not provided at my house

Meet Enzo!
❤️

Enzo is a 2-year-old, big-hearted, goofy, and incredibly sweet boy who brings laughter and love wherever he goes!

With an energy level of
8/10
, Enzo is always ready for an adventure, a game of chase, or some good old-fashioned fun. He especially loves high-energy dogs who enjoy running, playing, and roughhousing. His favorite companions are often Whippets and other playful pups who can keep up with his energetic spirit.

Enzo is part yoga master, part little fox, part seal—and maybe even half cat! He loves curling himself into a tiny ball, performing surprise barrel rolls, giving gentle little love nibbles, and sleeping with his back feet in the air. His silly quirks will keep you smiling, while his affectionate nature will quickly steal your heart.

Enzo is smart, eager to learn, and already knows several commands. He’s also a wonderful travel companion and does beautifully on car rides—even those lasting 10 hours!

Enzo is looking for a loving home with someone who understands and appreciates his energy. He’ll thrive with plenty of exercise, playtime, companionship, and mental stimulation. He can experience separation anxiety, especially when he hasn’t had an outlet for his energy, so he needs a family willing to support him with patience, structure, and understanding.

Enzo generally does well with other dogs and enjoys doggy daycare and dog parks. He does best with larger, energetic dogs who enjoy rough play, though he also has experience with smaller, calmer dogs. On walks, he may become leash-reactive if another dog lunges at him, and he needs a thoughtful handler who can help him navigate those encounters. He typically prefers to avoid conflict and will walk away when possible, but he has shown aggression toward dogs that bully or challenge him.

Enzo has so much love, laughter, and adventure to give. He’s ready to find his forever family!
❤️

Could you be the person Enzo has been waiting for?

18. Livvy Lulu Coming Soon

Young (9 months) · Female · Siberian Husky (medium coat) · 3 mi from Addison

Livvy Lulu is an adorable 8–9-month-old husky girl weighing around 28–32 pounds, and she’s ready to show the world just how much love and personality she has to give. Livvy came into rescue in an emaciated condition, so her foster family is helping her safely gain weight and get stronger. Even after a difficult start, this silly puppy is full of joy, curiosity, and affection.

Livvy is wonderfully dog-friendly and loves all dogs. She also does well with cats and could happily be an only dog, making her a flexible fit for many different families. She’s best suited for a home with older children.

Read more about Livvy Lulu Coming Soon

This clever girl is house trained and crate trained. She’s surprisingly calm for a puppy, but she still loves to play, whether she’s entertaining herself, romping with another dog, or engaging with her people. Livvy is adventurous, athletic, playful, talkative, and wonderfully goofy. She’s also very smart and food-motivated, which should make training lots of fun.

Livvy absolutely loves to snuggle and will happily curl up with her favorite people after playtime. She has a sweet, affectionate nature with an independent little streak that gives her plenty of personality.

Livvy is currently working on feeling comfortable around her food bowl. She may growl when someone approaches while she’s eating, but she allows her foster family to touch the bowl and has not tried to bite. Her foster is working with her on this behavior, and she has no issues with treats or toys. Her future family should continue using patient, positive training and give her space while she eats.

Livvy Lulu hasn’t shown any interest in escaping the yard, but she’ll still need normal supervision and a secure outdoor area. With her loving personality, puppy silliness, and cuddly nature, Livvy is ready to find a family who will help her continue to thrive.

If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, snuggly puppy with a goofy side and lots of love to give, Livvy Lulu may be your perfect match.

Adopting a dog in Addison

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
