Meet Darong! She is the sweetest girll! She is a 3 year old rescued in South Korea from a dog meat farm. We have partners there we work with to get these dogs out of the worst horrors imaginable and bring them to safety. We fly them here for their only chance at survival and a home. Darong and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life. These are miracle dogs that they are alive today. Bruno appreciates the simple pleasures: a leisurely walk, a tasty treat, a friendly game of chase, and a comfortable couch beside his people. In true dachshund fashion, he loves burrowing into pillows and blankets. If your idea of a lovely evening includes a cozy spot and a devoted companion, Bruno would be happy to join you.
He has been friendly and nonreactive with the dogs he’s met so far, both large and small. He plays appropriately with his foster sisters and enjoys their company. Found as a stray alongside another dog, Bruno also shared space with other dogs during his shelter stay.
Bruno walks beautifully on a leash, making outings together a pleasure. Toys haven’t caught his interest just yet; for now, people, treats, and his canine companions seem to be his favorite things.
He is still working on his indoor manners and currently marks in the home. His foster family is managing this with belly bands, and his adopter should be prepared to continue patient, consistent housetraining as he adjusts.
Bruno would love a family who will include him in everyday life, enjoy his affectionate personality, and give him the time and guidance he needs to settle in. Another friendly dog could be a lovely match, given how much he enjoys his foster sisters.

Mango is a ball of fluff and has a sweet and playful personality. All 3 puppies are sweet, playful, happy and healthy. Zoey was surrendered to the rescue very pregnant. Darwin is approximately 9–10 years old and weighs about 24 lbs. He is vaccinated and microchipped. Due to his age and medical considerations, Darwin cannot be neutered, and we have a medical exemption letter from his veterinarian.

Meet Trixie! Trixie is a petite terrier mix who weighs just 9 pounds and has long, fluffy hair with a little coarse texture and the cutest curly fountain tail you’ve ever seen. We spotted her in a sea of small dogs at the Carson Shelter, and we’re so glad we pulled her. Her name means “charming trickster,” and she lives up to it every day. She makes her foster mom laugh constantly and runs around the house like a little circus dog doing parkour. She’s the smallest dog in her foster household, but she’s convinced she’s a big dog, and that confidence is part of her charm. She’s an excellent watchdog who’ll let you know who’s coming, who’s going, and who doesn’t belong. She reads the room well, too. When it’s time to rest, she follows suit, and at night she loves to burrow under your covers. During the day, she loves to play, chew on toys, and sprint from one end of the house to the other. She adores other dogs, enjoys playing with her foster siblings, and is a reliable referee during a game of tug-of-war. She’s a little cautious with new people at first, but once she sees you’re good, she’s in your face, giving kisses and happy to be held. Trixie is the dominant girl in her home, and she does best with a dog companion who matches her energy. She’s spayed and fully vaccinated, and she’s about 95% potty trained, so she’ll need a watchful eye to get outside on time. She’ll be the best and most entertaining little companion for life!
