Large Dogs for Adoption in Savannah, GA: 26 Big Dogs Looking for a Home

Jeff was part of a litter of Bulldog pups that came to SoCo Rescue in July of 2023. Two of his brothers, Solomon and Simon, were adopted to families in New Jersey in early 2025. Due to a reduced number of larger dogs being adopted over the past few years and having to overcome the bulldog stigma, Jeff has had to wait patiently for the opportunity to find his new home. While they have not yet met, we believe that Jeff's adopter is currently looking for a dog just like him and that this is Jeff's time to finally find his new home.

Jeff is very people friendly and has even done very well when interacting with other dogs in a controlled environment. He loves going on walks and long hikes and having the opportunity to run and play in a large outdoor fenced area. While he's not yet had any experience living as an indoor dog, we believe he'll adjust to life as a couch potato with proper training as he is a quick learner.

Jeff has been kept up to date on his annual vaccinations, de-wormings and monthly preventatives since coming into our rescue. He was recently neutered and given both a heartworm and fecal exam, both of which gained negative test results. He's never displayed any aggressive behavior towards people or other dogs, but we'd recommend a "meet-an- greet" with any other dogs that he may share a new home with prior to an adoption. Jeff has also already been microchipped.

Grace came from the same litter that also yielded her two sisters, Gina and Gussie, who are currently also available for adoption. While Gina, Gussie and their siblings all came into our rescue at the same time, Grace was surrendered to SoCo a month later which delayed her being available for adoption. The entire "G" litter came to us as owner surrenders and we're helping the former owner get all of his other dogs spay and neutered.

Grace is much bigger than her siblings and seems to have also have much more energy than they did. Her ideal home will allow for ample space and time to expel some of her energy. She does play well with other dogs and simply adores her human counterparts. Despite benign very energetic, Grace also loves to cuddle up next to anyone who'll spend time with her.

Grace has received an update on her annual vaccinations, de-wormings and kept up to date on her monthly preventatives. She's also already been spay and had her microchip inserted. She is accustomed to sleeping in a crate, which will be helpful during her continued house training. She does walk decently on a leash.

Vance has been with us for a while due to the slow process in finding bigger dogs a new home. But we've decided to really push for his opportunity to find a new home as he more than deserves that. He is very friendly towards people and hasn't shown any aggressive behavior towards other dogs, but we'd still require a "meet-and-greet" with any dog that he'll share a home with. Over the past few months, Vance has spent time living in the home of Scott Bennett and had done exceptionally well. He's accustomed to staying in a crate and hasn't relieved himself while in it.

Since coming to our rescue, Vance has been kept up to date on all of his annual vaccinations, de-wormings and monthly preventatives. He He did test positive for heartworms and is currently undergoing treatments. Once that has been completed, he will be ready to find his new home. While Vance has shown some house training skills, he may need additional training once in a new home. Vance has also already been microchipped

For a couple of days, we noticed a very young puppy running loose and just outside of our dog kennels. He apparently heard our dogs barking and was trying to find safety within our rescue, but would run away whenever we tried to lure him to us. We ended up setting a trap and was able to catch Smith within a day's time. And, boy, was he ever happy to see us as he was all tail wags and excited when we took him from the trap. About a week after his capture, we found his sister, Kathy, roaming free in the same spot just below the rescue.

Smith quickly displayed his very friendly, playful personality to us. He shows us everyday just how happy he is that we found him and is always eager to give us kisses and snuggle up in our arms. While we're not really sure of his breed mix, we do know that he'll add lots of love to his new family

Smith has received 2 of 3 of his first year "puppy" vaccines, been de-wormed on multiple occasions and started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. He's still too young to receive his rabies vaccine, which should be obtained after he reaches 12 weeks of age. His adopter must agree on having Smith neutered once he reaches 6 months old and provide verification of such to our rescue.

Kathy was found as a stray that had apparently been abandoned just below SoCo Rescue. While she was found all alone, we had actually found what appears to be her brother (Smith) a week earlier in the same place and had to set a trap to catch him. Kathy was very thin and hungry when found as her time as a stray had already begun to take its toll on her small body.

We're not exactly sure of Kathy's breed mix but think that she'll end up being a mid-sized dog once fully grown. What we do know is that she's already well-socialized towards people and other pups and has a great personality. She loves to snuggle and receive attention from our staff. Kathy should make a great addition into a home that is seeking a mid-sized dog and can give her plenty of room to run and play

She loves playing with other dogs and kids. She may occasionally decide that someone else’s toy looks better than hers and walk away with it, doing a little prancing along the way, but she’ll definitely steal your heart!

And this girl is SMART! Like, “Wait, how did you figure that out already?” smart. She picks up new things within minutes and is eager to learn. She’s young, curious, and ready to soak up everything her person is willing to teach her.

Poppi is truly all love in a tiny package. She’s sweet and sassy, playful and peaceful, silly and snuggly, basically, the whole package.

TJ was found as a stray puppy by a local family. She was very thin, scared and in need of help. TJ was brought to SoCo Rescue after a search for her possible owner yielded no positive results.

She loves "talking" to us, letting us know when she's hungry, wants playtime or just a belly rub. There's no doubt that TJ will fit rather nicely into just about any home situation.

Demy is undoubtedly the more rambunctious pup of this litter, in fact, you can see her mischievousness in her eyes. At the same time, she is also a very affectionate girl who will bring a lot happiness into your life. She loves playing with her siblings so a home with another dog would be great for Demy.

The runt of this litter, Dusty manages to pack the same amount of love to give as do her slightly lager siblings. She's very friendly and well-adjusted towards humans and will give you endless hours of great companionship. You'll never regret adopting this black beauty!

In June 2026, We were asked to help a man who not only found a number of adult dogs left tied to trees in the woods, but also had a couple of litters of puppies from two female dogs that he had. One of those dogs was his personal dog, a Bully mix, that had eight puppies born on May 2.While we were able to find immediate help for a number of the dogs on his property, it wasn't until August, two months later, that this man finally surrendered five of the eight puppies to our rescue. We are in the process of trying to help this man get the remainder of his dogs spay and neutered.

Gussie definitely redefines the term "unconditional love"! Her very friendly, playful and affectionate personality will fill your home with lots of joy and smiles. She should do very well in a home with another dog and even children who know how to properly handle a young pup.

The largest pup of this litter, Gina is also the self-proclaimed "leader-of-the-pack". She eagerly greets our staff with her tail wagging and a big smile on her face each and every time she sees them. That same wonderful personality will translate into her becoming a treasured member of the home of her adopter.
