Paisley came into a pound in MS pregnant. All her puppies were weaned and adopted. Paisley was heartworm positive but she has been treated successfully and now she's ready to travel and find a family of her own. Paisley is crate trained, leash trained and appears to be potty trained. She loves puppies and gets along with other dogs. But if the other dog is too pushy she will put them in their place with a "leave me be" snarl. Paisley can be timid at first but warms up quickly and LOVES people and attention. She has been cat tested and is friendly.

soft brown coat and white paws that will make you want to cuddle her all day long. She has beautiful brown eyes that radiate kindness and warmth, despite her initial shyness. Coco is a bit hesitant around new people but it only takes a treat or a few minutes, and then she warms up quickly and becomes a playful and affectionate companion who loves attention. She enjoys the company of other dogs and loves to explore her surroundings. Coco was taken from a hoarding situation in KY but it hasn't dimmed her sweet demeanor. She is pregnant and due near the end of October, so would be available for adoption after her puppies are weaned - just after Christmas.

Cookie gets along with other dogs, but she is high energy and can play intensely, so she should be closely monitored with dogs significantly smaller than she is. She also has a

high prey drive

and is not suitable for a home with cats, rabbits, or other small animals that roam freely. Contained pets such as reptiles and securely caged birds are fine.

On her first day in foster care, Cookie experienced a seizure. There were several unusual circumstances that may have contributed. She had just experienced a stressful transport and major transition, it was an extremely hot day, and dehydration or overheating may have played a role. Immediately beforehand, she slipped on the stairs and was caught before falling, so

she did not hit her head

, but the sudden scare and physical stress preceded the episode. The seizure involved thrashing, paddling and drooling. She recovered well, was back to her normal self within about 20 minutes, and has had

no additional episodes or concerning symptoms

since. Because her previous medical history is largely unknown, we can’t know whether this was an isolated situational event or something that could recur, and her adopter should be comfortable monitoring her and pursuing veterinary care if needed.

Cookie isn’t recommended for very young children simply because her enthusiasm includes jumping up, and she could accidentally scratch or knock over a small child. She can also be a barker when left alone, so an apartment or other home with shared walls may not be ideal.

Cookie doesn’t need a perfect history to be a wonderful dog. She needs the

right home

: one that appreciates her energy and affection, understands the things we’ll never know about her past, and is prepared to give her the happy, secure future she deserves.

He is working on leash walking and housetraining. He will sometimes use pee pads, but accidents should be expected as he continues to learn this new skill.

He can still be very timid and is considered a flight risk until you get to know each other. He should be kept securely on a leash or in a safely fenced yard.

More than anything,

Mark Anthony loves the simple comforts he is discovering for the first time.

He enjoys relaxing in his bed, playing with toys and, when he feels comfortable, snuggling up beside his person on the couch. Watching him slowly learn to enjoy these little moments is incredibly rewarding.

He has recently been diagnosed with hypothyroid and will need a small dose of an inexpensive medication daily for the rest of his life.

Mark Anthony also has skin allergies and needs either regular meds or shots to keep his licking and itching at bay.

Mark Anthony needs a patient, compassionate, and understanding home willing to let him progress at his own pace.

He has already come so far in such a short time, and we can only imagine how much more he will blossom once he knows he is home.

With time, patience, consistency, and lots of love, Mark Anthony has the potential to discover just how wonderful life as a cherished family member can be.

Ace has arrived in RI!! He acts like he has always been here. He is outgoing, loves people including young children. Ignores cats and is great around older dogs. Younger dogs seem to be a little too much for him. He is fully potty trained and acts like a big dog in a tiny body! He does have some separation anxiety but is not destructive. He would do best in a home with someone who can be with him most of the day. He loves hiking, car rides, going anywhere and everywhere with his people. He does need a home where he can share a couch and a bed at night with. If you are looking for a little shadow who just wants to be loved, Ace might be the one for you!

Ace successfully treated heartworm treatment in MS and is ready to find his forever home.

Gizmo is a handsome 9-year-old Shi Tzu / Terrier mix who may take a little time to warm up to new people - but once he does, you're his person. You'll have a playful sidekick who loves being by your side. Gizmo is a fetch master and could probably teach a class or two! he also enjoys short walks and has plenty of playful energy, while still appreciating the comforts of home. Most of all Gizmo loves being around his people and wants to be part of the action. He seems to enjoy the company of other dogs. He has not been tested with cats. Gizmo is housebroken as well!

Gizmo is looking for someone who has the patience to give him the time he needs to build trust at his own pace. In return you'll get a funny, playful, affectionate little guy with a whole lot of personality and plenty of love to give. Could Gizmo be your forever friend?

Flora would thrive in a quiet household, with a retiree or someone who works from home. She bonds deeply with her people and feels happiest when she’s close by — curled up next to you on the couch, resting at your feet while you work, or following you gently from room to room. She isn’t meant to be a “busy, on-the-go” dog — she’s meant to be someone’s steady companion. Best in a quiet home with no young children.

She is fully house trained with a consistent routine and patience. While she mostly loves lounging and cozy time, she still has a playful, youthful spark that shines through in the sweetest ways.

Flora can be vocal if separated from her people — she just likes reassurance that you’re coming back. Because of this, she would do best in a home where she isn’t left alone for long stretches. With stability and love, she truly relaxes and flourishes.

She would do best in a home with no other dogs as she likes to be the one getting all the attention and can get jealous of other dogs and act out.
