3. Harper
Senior (9 years) · Female · Boxer (short coat) · 21 mi from Randolph

This ADORABLE little girl arrived at her Ohio foster home not quite two weeks ago and she is doing very well there. Harper has a lot going on....her backend is a little wonky, she needs to get her mouth/teeth checked out, and she had some bumps removed that we are a little concerned about. She is the sweetest thing, is eating well and is definitely soaking up all of the love and attention in her foster home. Harper tested iffy with other dogs at the shelter and has not been around cats or kids. She is completely vetted, including spayed and microchipped.

5. Alfa SENIOR
Adult (7 years 6 months) · Female · Boxer (short coat) · 21 mi from Randolph

This beautiful girl was surrendered to an Indiana shelter when her family brought a new dog into the home that she just did not want to share her space with. She did not do well at the shelter at all and was completely shutdown and lost 10 pounds while in there. We are so thankful to our shelter contact and to everyone who stepped up to get this precious girl to us. Alfa is the SWEETEST and is very generous with her kisses for all. She arrived at her Minnesota foster home a few days ago and she is doing well with figuring out her new place. Alfa tested well with other dogs at the shelter, however, prefers to be the only dog in the home.

She is good with kids and good with cats. Alfa is housebroken. 7/20 UPDATE...Alfa is just the happiest girl ever. She loves toys and is great with kids. Her perfect home would have a fenced in yard or area for her to explore and trot around in. Our girl prefers to be the only dog in the home.7/27 UPDATE Alfa's foster mom & dad needed some help with her while they are out of town so her Boxersitter sent this............."Alfa is wonderful!!! Honestly if I was looking to adopt a dog, I would want it to be her. Unfortunately that's not in my near future but I'm having a great time watching her. She settled in just fine, like she's lived here forever. She really is great. She's active. Loves to run around the backyard. Eats good, sleeps good, loves to cuddle, potty trained. I hope she finds the perfect home because she deserves it! She loves kids too. No issues with loud noises or food/toy guarding. She doesn't care for being crated and has been left to free roam in the house for 4.5 hours (so far) with no issues. Alfa is wonderful with kids. She LOVES running around outside in our fenced-in area. She is a playful, bouncy, happy girl!"

Read more about Sally
Hi! Hi! Hi! Did I say hi yet? My name is Sally, but sometimes my foster mom calls me Salligator, Salmonella. I’ll respond to pretty much anything, especially when you tell me I’m a pretty girl. My fur must be velcro, because I Absolutley am stuck to my humans side
24/7
. I get anxious when you’re not around, but I promise to behave when you’re gone! That leads me to the thing they call a kennel. Can we just say, no thank you?! I am working hard on kennel training but it’s very scary for me. You see, I just want to be near and beside my humans at all times. I’m also working hard on commands. I know sit, stay, and am so close to mastering heel. I live with a thing that meows, but I really don’t mind it! I’m interested in the cat, but I don’t chase. I’ve been waiting patiently to be near the cat, and we finally sat together a few days ago! I love sleeping on the bed with my person/people. Walking? I’m a pro. I don’t pull on the leash, and I don’t zig-zag too much. If I see another dog on a walk, I just look in its direction. Call me to come and keep walking and I will! Seeing other humans on walks doesn’t bother me either. I am just eager to share my love with everyone! My foster mom says I’m one of the quietest Boxers ever… except for my snoring! I also live with tiny human that has special needs, and I’m so gentle with her! Again, just being near my humans is where I want to be. My foster mom says I’m an ambassador for being America’s Sweetheart!

Adult (1 year) · Male · Boxer (short coat) · 28 mi from Randolph

COMING SOON TO RESCUE: I was found as a stray. It's unclear how long I was on my own as I have a lot of defensive wounds at various stages of healing. Stay away from coyotes and don't turn your back! I'm hesitant at the moment around other dogs, but hopefully once I'm healed other animals won't feel so scary. I'm very sweet with my humans and love cuddling with the kids. I'm being crate trained and so far, it looks like I'm housetrained. I like to go for walks, even the kids can walk me. I'm fairly calm, but I'm sure once I heal, I'll be the bouncy , goofy pup I'm meant to be!

Puppy (3 months 26 days) · Male · Boxer · 28 mi from Randolph

COMING SOON:
I'm just a tiny baby! I was born without a right hip joint and only a partial left hip joint. So far, it doesn't affect my movements. Only time will tell if this will be a problem for me or not. I'm just too teeny to know right now. Some dogs fare quite well and I like to think that'll be me! I'll need a family who is up for regular vet visits and physical therapy to keep the muscles around my joints strong. In return, I promise to be the best boy who will give you all the puppy snuggles and kisses your heart desires.

Senior Golden Girl here! I'm hanging out here at Shady Pines and though they're nice to me, I would like to get out of here and into a home with some roommates. I don't mind other dogs or cats. My retirement home can have kids but I prefer older, respectful kids because my eyesight and hearing aren't what they used to be. I'm great on a leash and enjoy strolls through the neighborhood. I'm very sweet and love pets. Want to be my Golden Girl?

Meet Loko (The Misnamed Legend)
Read more about Loko Adoption Pending
Don't let the name fool you—Loko is about as crazy as a warm cup of chamomile tea. At 5 years old, this sweet gentle boy is easily the chillest, lowest-drama roommate you’ll ever meet. He is crate trained, a dream on his leash, and 100% unbothered. Loko’s life philosophy is simple: go with the flow, hand out big leaning hugs, and embrace everyone he meets—whether that’s other dogs, cats, or the vet giving him a checkup (he's 100% unbothered by it all). If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, high-cuddle companion who trades barks for gentle snoozes and treats every day like a lazy Sunday, Loko is ready to warm up a spot right next to you on the couch!
COMING SOON: Oh hey there, I'm basically the world's biggest, squishiest baby! Give me ALL the pets and attention—seriously, I will never say no! I'm a total goofball who loves bouncing around with my human, throwing my paws in the air like I just don't care! Crinkly foil toys? OBSESSED. Couch cuddles while binge-watching TV? Yes please! I'm super quiet (a gentleman, really) and I'll politely let you know when nature calls. Other pups? I'm SO down for playdates! I'm also a total softie around little human babies—gentle as can be. No rough stuff here—just shower me with love, toss me some good kibble, and I'm the happiest, wiggliest camper you ever did see!

17. Dior
Adult · Male · French Bulldog · 30 mi from Randolph

Say hello to Dior, an almost 3-year-old French Bulldog with a big personality packed into 23 pounds of brindle perfection! This silly little guy loves being wherever his people are, following you from room to room, soaking up affection, and making sure you always know what he’s thinking with his signature Frenchie grumbles. He’s a total sweetheart who loves to be held and included in all the daily activities. He does have a preference for having his people around. He isn't a fan of being crated when everyone is home and would much rather be out enjoying their company. He may whine briefly in his crate when he's ready to be done or hears people moving around, but he settles down quickly.
Read more about Dior
He can also let out a few short, fairly mild barks when he hears cars, neighbors, or other noises. He isn't typically a prolonged barker when left alone.Dior would love a home where someone is around more often than not and where he can be part of the family. He would appreciate a family who enjoys a little playtime indoors and a couple of short, leisurely walks each day. Due to his current breathing limitations, walks should be kept short with plenty of breaks.Like many French Bulldogs, Dior needs a little extra attention when it comes to his skin. Regular medicated baths and skin moisturizers will be important to keep him comfortable, and he may need seasonal Apoquel if his dry skin isn't adequately controlled. He will also be on a contract for his nares (nostril) and soft palate surgery. His breathing currently limits his exercise, so his adopter should be prepared to continue being mindful of his activity and comfort.Dior is a goofy, affectionate, slightly grumbly little companion who just wants to be loved and included. He has so much personality, so much sweetness, and so much love to give. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who will make you laugh, keep you company, and happily accept all the cuddles you have to offer, Dior might just be your guy!If you are interested in Dior, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

18. Eddie Munster
Young · Male · Wirehaired Fox Terrier · 30 mi from Randolph

Meet Eddie Munster, a little dog with a big personality, an adorable underbite, and a heart that just needs a little time to feel safe! At 9 months old and 16 pounds, this tan Wirehaired Terrier is a sweet, playful little guy who loves snuggling with his people, playing with other dogs, and discovering all the fun things life has to offer.Eddie was quite nervous when he first arrived in foster care, but he's making progress every day. He enjoys toys, games of chase with other dogs, and exploring on walks. Crunchy fall leaves are a particular favorite, and he loves plowing through them! He's also a champion blanket snuggler.
Read more about Eddie Munster
Rather than lying on top of his blankets, he'll bunch them up and curl around them like he's spooning a friend.Eddie gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion who likes to play without being too intense. He's also done well around his foster family's young granddaughters, but because he can be skittish, a home with children 13 and older is recommended. His experience with cats is limited, so that's still an unknown.Eddie does need a little extra patience and understanding when it comes to handling. When he was found, he was severely matted, including around his neck and face, and needed to be sedated and shaved to safely remove the mats. While we don't know exactly what he experienced before coming into rescue, he is now very uncomfortable with having a collar, harness, or leash put on or taken off. When he feels frightened or overwhelmed during this process, he may use his mouth to express his discomfort. His foster family is working with a trainer to help him feel more comfortable with handling, and he's making progress. He currently walks successfully using a slip lead, but his future family will need to be patient and committed to continuing his training with gentle, positive reinforcement. Building trust and helping Eddie feel safe will be an important part of his journey.Eddie is also still learning his potty-training skills and making progress, especially with frequent outdoor breaks. He settles into his crate fairly quickly once he's inside, although he isn't a fan of going in. He's an energetic pup who enjoys a good walk and plenty of playtime, and a securely fenced yard is required. Eddie is a talented escape artist who can dart through an open door in a flash, so careful management is important.Despite his rough start, Eddie is a very loving little dog who wants to cuddle, play, and be part of a family. He'll need an adopter who understands that building trust takes time and who is willing to help him continue gaining confidence at his own pace. The right patient, committed home will make all the difference for this special little guy!If you are interested in Eddie, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. 19. Agatha Christie
Young · Female · Pit Bull Terrier / Terrier / Mixed · 30 mi from Randolph

Meet Agatha Christie, the adorable pocket pittie with a big personality and an even bigger love for cuddles! At almost 8 months old and 22 pounds, this sweet gray-and-white girl is short, stocky, and full of puppy charm. Her two favorite things are playing with her people and soaking up affection. If there's a lap available, Aggie is happy to claim it!Agatha loves toys, playing with other dogs, and getting attention from just about everyone. She's been wonderful with her foster family's 3- and 7-year-old granddaughters, enjoying cuddles and games of tug-of-war. She also gets along well with other dogs, although her wrestling style can be pretty enthusiastic! A canine companion who enjoys a good play session would be a bonus.

Cats are an unknown, although her foster family suspects she'd be curious and playful. At home, Agatha has a medium-low energy level, with a daily walk and some playtime keeping her happy. She's still working on leash manners and potty training, but she's making progress! She keeps her crate clean and dry overnight and settles in nicely once she's inside, although she may need a little encouragement at bedtime.Agatha has a few adorable quirks, too. If she's in her puppy pen and feels like she's missing out on something, she'll climb up and rest her front paws on top, peeking over the edge with the most pitiful, longing expression. And with her short legs, broad chest, and muscular build, her little crouching walk has been compared to something straight out of The Nightmare Before Christmas!Agatha is being treated for a skin infection that is clearing up nicely, and her small patches of missing fur are expected to grow back. She is scheduled to be spayed on November 7.This little pocket pittie is an absolute sweetheart who wants nothing more than to be part of the fun, stay close to her people, and receive all the cuddles she can get. 20. Franklin
Young · Male · Black Labrador Retriever · 30 mi from Randolph

Meet Franklin! This handsome 1-year-old Lab mix weighs about 60 pounds and is a sweet, playful guy with lots of energy and an enthusiasm for life. Franklin loves toys, especially his Kong, tug-of-war, Benebones, and long-lasting chews. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and even puts himself to bed in his crate when he is ready to settle down!Franklin is a smart, active boy who needs an adopter committed to providing plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, structure, and consistent boundaries. He loves to run and is treadmill-trained. Nose-work games are another great way to help him use his brain and burn off energy.
Read more about Franklin
Franklin is still working on impulse control and manners, so he will benefit from someone who can provide consistent guidance, routine, and positive reinforcement to help him become the best version of himself.Franklin loves having a canine companion! A confident, balanced, even-tempered resident dog would be a wonderful addition to his new home, as he enjoys having a playmate who can also help him learn to relax. He even prefers his crate to be next to his dog friend. However, a resident dog is preferred rather than required, and Franklin may do well as the only dog with the right support and structure. His compatibility with cats is unknown.Franklin's biggest challenge is being alone. He has separation anxiety and takes medication to help manage it. When left alone, he may bark incessantly, particularly if he does not have something appropriate to chew. He needs an adopter who understands separation anxiety and is prepared to continue working with him on it. A home without shared walls is required because of his barking when left alone.Franklin is a big, boisterous boy who can be a little too enthusiastic, so he needs a home with no children under 13. With the right match, consistent guidance, plenty of activity, and a canine buddy, Franklin has so much potential to grow into a wonderful companion. How to adopt from Rejection Collection Boxer Rescue
All potential adopters must complete an adoption application which includes veterinary records for any current or past pets; adopters go through an interview process and a home visit. Once those steps are approved, the potential adopter can meet available dogs that fit the criteria and are a good match between family, home, and dog. An adoption contract is signed with the stipulation that RCBR can do a follow up visit and remove the dog from the home if any part of the contract is breached. Dogs can only be adopted once spay/neuter or other medical conditions requiring treatment are completed. An additional training contract is signed for any dog needing further training. If the adoptive family cannot keep the dog for the long term, the dog must be returned to RCBR. RCBR must be notified if family is planning to euthanize dog due to illness and/or old age or unknown behavior issues and can then elect to take back the dog.

Adopting a dog in Randolph
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
