1. Dingo
Young · Male · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location; Bangor, ME
Dingo
1 yr neutered male
Hi! I’m Dingo. I just moved here from Georgia and I’m looking for a place to call home. I wonder if maybe that’s with you?
Read more about Dingo
I’m a good boy. I am crate trained and I don’t pull on the leash on walks. I love cookies and I’ll try real hard to figure out what I need to do to get one. I get along with other dogs in the place I’m staying and also did at the shelter. I don’t know if I like kitties or not, but my foster mom thinks I’d likely chase them. My foster mom thinks I could use some more socialization because sometimes I like to puff up and woof at things that surprise me but I recover well and I’m curious. I’m currently 30 pounds but my foster mom thinks I’ll likely be around 40 pounds once I get comfortable and fill out.
Well here’s some photos of me. If you have any questions send an email to

2. Bandit
Young · Male · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
Meet Bandit! Bandit is a 3 year old, 47 pound Australian Cattle Dog. This handsome boy is simply the best!
Bandit will need a home with ACD or similar breed experience, as he is a very high energy boy and needs to work on how to appropriately communicate with people. More info on this below.
Bandit currently lives with 3 other cattle dogs and gets along perfectly with them. He loves to play, but is respectful of their boundaries. He does have a bit of a rowdy play style which may overwhelm some dogs.
Read more about Bandit
Bandit walks well on leash and is working on his basic obedience skills. He is house trained and crate trained. Bandit is excellent in the car for short and long trips! He has been to pet friendly stores and was well behaved for those outings. He is learning to settle in the house after exercise, playtime, or training sessions.
We think Bandit would love to be a sport dog, he has so much energy and enthusiasm. He is trying FastCAT, Barn Hunt, and Agility with his foster family.
Bandit can be very mouthy and will playfully grab at arms and clothing. He is not doing this to be mean, he just doesn’t understand the best way to communicate yet. We offer him a toy to redirect him when he tries to grab us.

3. Lilly
Young · Female · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location: Riverside, RI
Lilly
1 yr old spayed red heeler
Lilly is a 30-40 lbs red heeler with a double mask. She is very playful and very cuddly all at once. She loves the people and loves the pets. She is fine with other dogs (has all the manners) but she rather be with people. She is currently hanging out with 4 other dogs of varying ages (2 female and 2 male) and she could care less if they all vanished tomorrow. However when her people go away and come back its like a long lost reunion.
Read more about Lilly
She is young and has lots of energy but she settles nicely after getting pets. We snuggled on the couch all day the other day to binge watch a show after our morning walk and she just curled up next to me for a snuggle with no complaints. She loves treat training and already knows basics she just needs to calm down long enough to hear you say sit. She gets excited whenever anyone gives her attention. With basic training to form a bond.
he will settle nicely once the shock of all this recent change from home to home wears off.
She is spayed and microchipped. Up to Date on her vaccines and her preventatives.
She is looking for a forever person or people that she can adore all day and night.

4. Brooklyn
Adult · Female · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location: Madison, GA
Read more about Brooklyn
Brooklyn’s life before now is a mystery, but this mature lady is ready to make up for lost time and live her best life! Brooklyn is a full-size cattle dog, but she doesn’t throw her weight around, preferring to get to know the critters around her before really diving in. And in her foster home, Brooklyn is surrounded by
a lot
of critters… life on a farm has come with many new introductions: dogs, cats, sheep, goats, and a bunny! Brooklyn has taken it all in stride, and she listens to her foster mom when advised that something might not be the best choice. For example, while she sometimes thinks that cats are worthy of a taste test, she does great when supervised. Her dog brothers and sisters play rough, and so Brooklyn has needed some time to check them out, but she has started to join in on the fun! Compared to other cattle dogs, though, Brooklyn is low energy. She loves to roll around in the morning and go for walks around the farm, but she’s also happy to plop down in the sun for a nice afternoon nap.
Brooklyn is spayed and up to date on her vaccines and flea and tick medicine. She is potty trained and happily sleeps through the night in a crate or dog bed or on the couch (she’d probably also enjoy a human bed, but it’s currently quite full!). When meeting people, Brooklyn can be a bit shy and nervous, which she shows by licking you. She is also very food motivated (but not at all aggressive), which means that once she feels confident, she’ll likely be easy to train. Although timid at first
and not afraid to set boundaries with other nosy dogs
, Brooklyn would probably like a home with another dog or two (as long as they’re not too rough!) and lots of time to be outside in the sun or to go on walks. As far as cattle dogs go, she’s a great, low-key lady who still has lots of years, licks, and cuddles to give!

5. Chili
Adult · Female · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location: Berryville, VA
Meet Chili!
Chili is a 5 year old, 38 lb, spayed purebred girlie in need of an ACD experienced, child-free home (or older child), preferably in the VA/MD/PA area.
Chili is a very intense stereotypical cattle dog, and therefore an ACD experienced home is a must. She is living with three dog-savvy cats, three resident dogs (including her littermate sister), chickens, and goats, however, she is constantly irritating her sister, and would probably prefer to be the only dog in a home, as she is a mouthy cattle dog. She is also wary of strangers, and would love to have a quiet home without many people coming and going.
Read more about Chili
She was not happy in a more urban previous home, so her ideal home would be more rural. She is well behaved around the goats, but is very intense, and I think with training she could absolutely be used to successfully move livestock. She is very receptive to training, and is truly a joy to work with.
If you are ready for a challenge with a wonderful reward, Chili is your girl. I have truly enjoyed having her here, and working with her to become the best version of herself. If you think Chili would be a good fit, please email

6. Daisy Mae
Young · Female · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location: Gettysburg, PA
Hi, I'm Daisy Mae! As you can see I am a beautiful red girl, I am three years old and a good size at 35 pounds. I'm a sweet, very energetic girl. I love everyone, dogs as well. I walk well on a leash, I am house trained but I do not like it when the ground is wet, so if it's raining I need some coaxing to go outside and may have an occasional accident. I know how to use a doggie door. It was scary at first but I figured it out quick. I do like to chase moving things, but that is what a cattle dog girl is supposed to do right??
Read more about Daisy Mae
I will need a secure fenced in yard as I am a Houdini and like to go out and explore and can find a opening if there is one. If you are a runner or avid hiker, I'm your girl as I like to go go go and seek out new adventures. I do have an off switch as once you sit for an evening in, I'll come curl up with you and watch a good movie or help you read a good book. I also LOVE to go for car rides! I like to sit up in the seat with you and feel the wind in my fur. I get so excited I've been told I must have a pogo stick in my blood, hehe.
So if you are looking for your next hiking or running partner, cuddle bug and just a silly fun loving girl, please come meet me! I am up to date on my vaccines and preventatives and have been spayed so no puppies for this girl! I am currently being fostered in Gettysburg PA.
If you have any questions or would like more information on Daisy Mae email board@acdra.org.

7. Patch
Adult · Male · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location: Salem, Ohio
Patch
6 year old neutered mix
Hey, over the road truck drivers, need a copilot?
Read more about Patch
Hey, older lonely people, need a quiet companion? Honestly, Patch is happy to just be next to ya, curled up, quietly, waiting for you to call the shots. If you just want to stay in where it’s warm, Patch is fine with that. If you decide to walk around the yard, Patch is good with that. You want to romp around a bit? Patch is happy to join in. This guy is seriously no problem to have around. Completely house trained. You can go to town for hours, leave him loose in the house and he won’t bother a thing. Well, unless you leave food on the counter. And as much as he just wants to be close to his person, he doesn’t pester you for attention. Just get him outside for a couple minutes 3-4 times a day, let him sniff around, he’s content. I bet Patch would enjoy keeping the yard free of squirrels! In the car, Patch is the same as in the house. You won’t even know he’s there. He may need some encouragement to get him in the car, but once in, no problem.
Patch doesn’t bother cats. He may sniff them a little but that’s about it. I haven’t had him around young children but I’m guessing their high energy may make him nervous. I’m going to say he could be selective with other dogs. He wants to play & be a good friend but if the other dog wants to start some crap, Patch won’t back down!
If you think Patch might fit into your life, he is fostered in Salem Ohio. Send any questions to
janemamsberry@aol.com
or fill out an application at
ACDRA.org
and you will be contacted. Patch is current in all vaccines, heartworm prevention, and flea & tick prevention. A fenced yard would be ideal but not required.

9. Duke
Young · Male · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location: Littleston, PA
Duke, a 9-month-old male Heeler weighing approximately 45 pounds. Duke is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and current on his preventives.
While he can be shy at first, Duke warms up quickly and is incredibly sweet. He is a typical juvenile Heeler—eager to please but full of energy (occasionally earning the nickname "Duke the Destroyer" for his fondness for chewing dog beds). He has great recall and is safe around chickens, horses, cows and cats. He is also fully house-trained with a dog door, crates quietly, and loves playing with other young dogs.
Read more about Duke
Duke would thrive in a home that provides structure rather than discipline; he does not respond well to yelling or threats and needs a patient environment to feel secure. He generally prefers men, though he is friendly with women as well.
If you are looking for a dedicated jogging, hiking, or farm companion, Duke is the perfect match. He is currently located in Littlestown, PA.

10. Kenobi
Young · Male · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location: Raleigh, NC
Meet Kenobi!
Applications open to out-of-state adopters ---
Breed experience is required
Kenobi is a handsome 1–1.5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog weighing approximately 30–35 lbs, and he is looking for a breed-savvy home ready to help him continue growing into the amazing dog he is meant to be.
Read more about Kenobi
Kenobi is a high-energy, intelligent, and driven young ACD who thrives when he has structure, routine, and a job to do. This boy has the classic cattle dog personality — smart, energetic, athletic, motivated, and ready to learn! With the right person, Kenobi has the potential to be an incredible adventure buddy, training partner, or even a little sport dog.
Kenobi is a sweet boy who can make a wonderful family companion, but he is looking for a home without young children. His ideal family will understand the breed and appreciate the energy, enthusiasm, and training needs that come with a young, high-drive cattle dog.
* Kenobi does well with other dogs - May be a bit on stronger side, but currently exists with others and has previously gone to dog parks without issue.
* Due to high prey drive, a home without cats is recommended
* Sleeps great in a kennel overnight
This boy is searching for an active home that wants to include him in their lifestyle. Daily walks, HIKING, exercise, enrichment, and training sessions will help Kenobi channel his energy in the best way possible. He isn’t looking for a backyard-only life — he wants a person who will engage his brain, build his confidence, and help him become the best version of himself.
From a sports perspective, Kenobi has a lot of potential! His natural prey drive could make him a great candidate for barn hunt, and he has shown interest in chasing rollers (disc). He has also enjoyed the water in the past, so activities like dock diving could be a fun possibility with the right introduction.
Kenobi is ready to find someone who sees the amazing potential in a young cattle dog and wants a loyal, active, fun-loving partner by their side. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic adventure buddy who wants a job and a relationship — Kenobi may be your perfect match! ❤️

This handsome 3½-year-old Red Heeler is looking for an active home that can keep up with his adventurous spirit! If you love spending time outdoors, playing fetch, and having a loyal companion by your side, Cody may be your perfect match.
Cody is happiest when he's outside exploring, running, and playing. His absolute favorite activity is fetch—he could chase a ball for hours and will happily bring it back for another throw.
He is crate trained and has been a sweet, affectionate foster dog. He loves attention from his people and enjoys being included in family activities.
Read more about Cody
Like many Heelers, Cody can be mouthy when excited and is still learning appropriate manners. The good news is that he's smart, eager to engage, and already making progress.

14. Ladybug
Senior · Female · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat) · 10 mi from Long Beach

Location: Swarthmore, PA
Ladybug is a sweet senior girl, estimated to be 8+ years old, who has truly come full circle in foster care. After having her mammary tumors removed and a much-needed dental, she's feeling good, medically ready, and waiting for a forever home of her own.
Read more about Ladybug
The timid girl who once wanted to hide from the world has rediscovered her confidence and remembered how to be an Australian Cattle Dog! Ladybug has gone back to her roots and become much more engaged with the world around her. She's still independent and enjoys doing her own thing, but she now seeks out affection and absolutely loves head scratches and belly rubs. When it's time to relax, all she asks for is a nice soft bed.
Ladybug would still do best in a fairly quiet, low-key home without children. She does well with other dogs as long as they're calm and respectful—pushy, overly energetic, or in-your-face dogs aren't her style.
She's house-trained and enjoys spending time outside, lounging around the house, and keeping tabs on what everyone is doing. She can still be a picky eater, but meat is definitely the way to her heart, and Pupperonis are her absolute favorite treat.
Ladybug has come such a long way. She's healed, she's found her confidence, and she's ready for her next chapter. Now this sweet senior girl just needs a soft bed, a peaceful home, and someone to call her own.

18. Ivy
Puppy (7 months) · Female · Cane Corso Mastiff / Neapolitan Mastiff / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Long Beach

Ivy, formerly known as Skylar, is a silver bouncy velveteen hippo goddess with striking Tahoe blue eyes. Born in December, this Cane Corso Neapolitan mastiff is a true Sagittarius. Her curiosity is boundless and her optimism infectious. This 6-month-old 60 lb rock star is your future soul mate from the stars.
Read more about Ivy
Ivy loves her canine and feline foster siblings. In fact, she loves that cat so much that she tries to impersonate him by playing with his tiny toys. Also known as the collector, she uses her impressive jowls to gather all the dog toys in her mouth and prance around the home with them. She finds toys irresistible, and who can blame her- she's just a big baby! Of course, she loves to play with her siblings as well, but her toys are a little more tolerant of her clumsy antics than her dog and cat siblings.
Ivy also loves cuddling with anyone that will indulge her- cat, dog, human. She knows basic commands and obedience, such as sit, down, come, SPIN, and stay. Very impressive for such a young girl. In addition to these academic accolades, Ivy is an eager dog puzzle enthusiast and highly food- and treat-motivated.
Ivy’s ideal family would be one that will continue to nurture her and understands guardian breeds. She had a traumatic start to life- bred in a backyard breeding ring, purchased, under socialized, kept in a crate, and neglected- although the owner did love her as best she could. In her foster home, the endless love, patience, and guidance her foster parents and siblings provided allowed Ivy to blossom. However, city life is too much for beautiful Ivy. She would thrive in a home that can show her the world is not so terrifying. New people and animals scare her. She does not realize she is 60 lbs of super soft fabulous power. Ivy believes she is a 10 lb dog with the heart of a survivor- filled and ready to love.
Ivy loves people, but might be too much for little humans at this time. She would love to be in an adult home or one with older children.
If interested in adopting or fostering Ivy, please complete an application, which can be found on our website at www.twentypawsrescue.com/forms-applications. Adopting a dog in Long Beach
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
