Young · Male · Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) · 16 mi from Lima

Oscar, a young male Terrier dog up for adoption

INTRODUCING OSCAR - The handsome goofball you’re about to fall in love with!

If Oscar were human, his very first word would be ball — because this little guy lives for playtime. Oscar is the definition of fun. If he were in school, he’d be the kid everyone adored: the cheerful class clown, always ready to make life brighter.

He may be small in stature (he tries so hard to stand tall in his photos), but his personality is larger than the Pacific Ocean and brighter than a disco ball. Oscar is a joyful, toy‑loving, fun‑loving little dude.

Meet the one and only Diva of the World… Miss Beautiful Skye.

Skye earned her diva crown the hard way — by surviving a past no dog should ever endure. Before arriving at LaMancha, she lived in heartbreaking neglect, trapped in a wire kennel so long that the grass grew up and over the top. She never walked, rarely ate or drank, and had no shelter from the world around her. Now, she’s finally making up for lost time, a life where she’s treated like the royalty she always deserved. And honestly, she’s allowed to be a Sweet Diva.

How to adopt from Pooch Kaboose
Loyal and loving, dogs are social animals who thrive on being upstanding members of their families. Caring for a companion animal goes far beyond providing food, water and shelter. It takes research and careful planning to bring the right pet into your home, and to make sure your lifestyle is the right one for your pet. If there are young children in your home, a puppy may not be your best bet. You may want to consider adopting a medium-sized dog over five months of age. It is a good idea to draw up a schedule of who in the family will help with the care of your new dog, including walking, playing, feeding and grooming. Don’t forget to have your new friend spayed or neutered. Please fill out the required adoption form.

Adopting a dog in Lima

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
