1. Yuki
Puppy · Female · Hound / Mixed · 46 mi from Burleson

Still a youngster, Yuki has a mix of basic skills she's tackled, and a few more she will learn with the support of a loving and dedicated family. She's been with both adults and kids, and she's adapted well to the routine of having to take care of business on a schedule.
Partly due to her young age, she gets excited while on walks and when around other dogs. She's getting better with a guiding hand on the other end of her leash who wants to help her become her best self. Yuki wants to be a wonderful companion for a family who enjoys daily walks, whether around her neighborhood or out in the big, beautiful world.

Playtime also matters to her. Squeaky toys and bouncy balls are Yuki favorites and she'll even play by herself for a while. But when her people walk in the door, she's there to welcome them home. It's like she's already a member of the family.

2. Mila
Puppy (3 months 1 day) · Female · German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat) · 22 mi from Burleson

Meet Mila! A Little Survivor with a BIG Future!
Mila’s story started in the most heartbreaking way. At just 2 weeks old, this sweet German Shepherd mix puppy was dumped in a box in rural South Texas in August, when temperatures are absolutely scorching. These tiny babies were helpless and far too young to survive on their own, but thankfully, someone found them just in time and took them home to foster until our rescue could step in.

Thanks to that amazing act of kindness, Mila and her siblings got their chance to live! ❤️ They were bottle-fed around the clock, lovingly transitioned to puppy gruel, and are now 8 weeks old, thriving, chubby, healthy, and full of puppy goodness!
And the best part? Their foster mom says these are the BEST foster puppies she has ever had! They are incredibly social, playful, smart, and soaking up everything the world has to offer. Mila is growing into a happy little girl who is ready to take her next big step toward a forever family.
These babies have come so far in such a short time, and we want their next chapter to be just as wonderful as their rescue story deserves. We are looking for foster homes and foster-to-adopt homes to help Mila and her siblings continue to grow and prepare for their forever families.
Could you be the safe landing place this little girl needs? Whether you can open your home temporarily or think Mila might be your future best friend, you could make all the difference in her world.
From a tiny box in the South Texas heat to a future full of love, Mila is proof that a little kindness can change a life. Now let’s find this precious girl the happy ending she deserves!

5. Dobby
Puppy · Female · Terrier / Mixed · 46 mi from Burleson

Dobby was spotted running around White Rock Lake with her brother, When her now foster approached, Dobby ran right up to say hello, happily accepted being picked up and immediately rolled over for belly rubs. That sweet, trusting personality has been shining ever since!
At just 4 months old, Dobby has already mastered the art of being someone's shadow. If you're sitting on the couch, she's climbing into your lap. Watching TV? She'd prefer to be curled up on your chest. Working at your desk? She'll happily squeeze onto your chair! She's a professional cuddler with a playful side, enjoying zoomies around the house, toys and plenty of puppy naps.
Read more about Dobby
Don't let her small size and sweet personality fool you, though! Dobby has a little feisty streak and isn't afraid to stand her ground when her bigger brother tries to steal her toys. She's great with kids and is slowly building confidence around other dogs, often rolling onto her back or lying beside them as she gets comfortable. She's also crate trained, doing well on a leash and making great progress with potty training. She even sleeps through the night!
Dobby would love a home where she can enjoy daily walks, plenty of playtime and, most importantly, lots of affection. She's happiest when she's close to her people and would make a wonderful companion for someone excited to help a loving, playful puppy continue to grow.

13. Bree
Puppy (5 months 18 days) · Female · Siberian Husky (medium coat) · 39 mi from Burleson

Bree is a sweet 20-week-old puppy who weighs about 28 pounds and has a gentle, curious spirit. With a lower energy level, she enjoys exploring and playing, but she’s also happy to take things at her own pace and relax with her people.
Bree is adventurous, playful, and smart, though she can be shy when she encounters new people or situations. She will need a family who is patient and committed to helping her build confidence through plenty of positive socialization and new experiences. Her personality is still developing, and with the right guidance, she has so much potential to blossom.
Read more about Bree
Bree is cat-friendly and loves all dogs. She could also be happy as an only dog, as long as she receives regular opportunities for safe socialization and canine companionship. She hasn’t been around children yet, so any introductions should be thoughtful and supervised.
Bree is potty trained but is not yet crate trained. She hasn’t shown any interest in escaping the yard and is ready to keep learning the routines and skills that will help her grow into a confident companion.
If you’re looking for a smart, playful puppy and are ready to help a shy little girl discover how wonderful the world can be, Bree may be the perfect match.

Cannoli is a sweet 20-week-old puppy who weighs about 30 pounds and is already winning hearts wherever he goes. With a moderate energy level, Cannoli enjoys playtime and puppy adventures, but he also loves settling in for cuddles with his people.
This gentle boy is curious, playful, food-motivated, and eager to learn. He can be a little shy at first, but he’s a quick learner, and his personality is still blossoming as he gains confidence and experiences the world. Like any puppy, he’s working on learning limits and may chew on things that catch his attention, but he’s ready to be redirected and guided as he grows.
Read more about Cannoli
Cannoli is good with kids of all ages and loves all dogs. He could potentially be an only dog with plenty of socialization and opportunities to interact with canine friends. His experience with cats is unknown, as he hasn’t been exposed to them yet.
Cannoli is potty trained and currently working on crate training. He hasn’t shown any interest in escaping the yard, and he’s eager to continue learning the routines and manners that will help him become a wonderful companion.
Because Cannoli is still young, his personality will continue to develop and be shaped by the family and environment he grows up with. With his gentle nature, cuddly personality, and smart puppy brain, Cannoli has all the makings of a fantastic family dog.

15. Mongo
Puppy (9 months) · Male · Great Pyrenees / Mixed (short coat) · 39 mi from Burleson

Meet Mongo! He is a male 9 month old puppy looking for a forever family. He is happy, playful, and talkative.
We think he is a Great Pyrenees and possibly German Shepherd mix (due to his big ears that stand upright at times). He currently weighs around 50lbs, we think he will grow up to be around 70-80lbs.
Mongo loves being near his people and dog friends. He can be too rough with little kids but would be fine with older children. He does well meeting new people on outings. He enjoys getting pets and sleeping near his 'pack'.
Read more about Mongo
He gets along great with the dogs in his foster home but requires slow introductions with new adult dogs as he can be unsure and reactive. He has met new dogs while in his foster home and done well after being introduced. He recently had a 'sleepover' with a new foster puppy and he was very excited to have a younger playmate.
Mongo is cautious around the cat in his foster home as it is mean to him, Mongo will run away if hissed at.
Mongo walks well on the leash and enjoys car rides. He likes to play with toys and in water.
He is potty trained and crate trained. He is very smart and food motivated, so learns things quickly. Although with his sassy attitude and a typical 'Pyrenees' stubbornness, he doesn't always listen. He will talk back to you and enjoys having a conversation.
Mongo will provide his family with entertainment, loyalty, and even conversation.
Mongo is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is currently in a foster home near Dallas / Ft Worth area of Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transport. His adoption fee is $300.

Adopting a puppy in Burleson
Puppies usually go to their new homes from about eight weeks old, once they're weaned and have had their first vaccinations. Most rescues spay or neuter them before adoption, or include it in the fee.
Ask the rescue how big the puppy is expected to grow and which breeds they think are in the mix, so you can plan for the dog they'll become.
Puppies need a lot of your time: house-training, a few minutes of training every day, several small meals, and someone home often enough to let them out. A puppy class is a good way to start.
