11/1/2026Alli is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Alli! I am a beautiful 6 year old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to my owner going to live in a long term health facility and unable to care for me any longer. I am bonded and need to be adopted with my littermate, Tyson XV, which means double the Boxer love for you! I am described as friendly, active, smart, playful, and affectionate! My brother and I get along great with an occasional tussle, but I have not had exposure to other dogs besides him. I have never lived with a cat so it is unsure if I am feline friendly.

There were no kids in my home but I am said to be kid friendly and very loveable and want to lick everyone! I am house trained, crate trained, went to obedience training but no follow through afterwards, eat Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach dry dog food Salmon flavor, and sleep in the house at night! When the humans must be away I am fine and my brother and I keep ourselves entertained or nap. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates! Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, playing and tussling with my brother, food, affection, and activities to keep me busy! I currently live with cats and we are said to get along well! Sometimes we snuggle and I like to playfully chase them off if they drink from my water. I currently live with a 14 year old kid and my owner says I would do best with older kids. When new people come in the home I will bark at them because I am protective of my humans. I am house trained, crate trained, eat Royal Canin Boxer food, and sleep on the couch or human bed at night. If the humans must be away, I have learned to calm myself and will mostly sleep awaiting their arrival. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. When scolded I cower and get very scared so positive reinforcement works great for me! I'm fearful of thunderstorms and I do need anxiety meds when experiencing new things or during stressful situations. I love riding in the car, greenies, bully sticks, belly and neck scratches, following the humans around when cleaning or doing yardwork, and staring at the humans intensely until they give in to what I want! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

11. Chiki
Senior (8 years) · Female · Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie (medium coat) · 59 mi from College Station

Chiki — 7 Pounds of Love, Opinions & Main-Character Energy
Meet Chiki, an 8-year-old, approximately 7½-pound spayed little lady whose former owner described her as a Yorkie/Maltese mix. She has spent all eight years of her life with the same family, so finding herself in rescue is a very big change for this tiny girl.
Read more about Chiki
Chiki wasn’t surrendered because she did anything wrong. Her family welcomed premature twin girls at only 27 weeks, followed by a 95-day NICU stay. One of the babies developed chronic lung disease and needs to be kept away from animals and other potential triggers. Chiki consequently had to begin living separately from the family she had always been accustomed to being with, and her owner recognized that Chiki deserved a home where she could once again be part of someone’s everyday life.
And being with her people is exactly what Chiki wants.
She’s a people girl
Her former family describes Chiki as affectionate, playful, a lap dog and a toy lover. She wants attention and closeness, and she especially enjoys people who are generous with affection.
There is, however, a little Yorkie-sized security department operating inside that 7-pound body.
Chiki is territorial and vocal. She barks. A lot. She takes a little time to decide whether a stranger has been cleared for entry into her inner circle, but once she knows you, the affection comes out. Her former owner was very clear that although Chiki is a barker, she is not aggressive.
Translation: Chiki has opinions, and she believes the neighborhood should hear them.
Her surrender paperwork also notes separation anxiety, which makes sense for a dog who spent her entire life closely attached to one family. An adopter who is home frequently and wants a genuinely companion-oriented dog may be an especially good fit.
Potty training: we're going to be honest
Chiki’s owner reported that she is not housebroken.
That means her adopter needs to be prepared for potty training — not merely hope she magically figures it out after moving into yet another unfamiliar environment. Consistency, routine, supervision and patience will be part of the deal.
If pristine floors are your highest priority, Chiki is probably not your girl.
If helping a little senior learn a new routine doesn't scare you, keep reading.
Cats? Nope.
Her surrender form specifically identifies Chiki as not cat friendly, so we are looking for a home without cats.
The medical glow-up
Chiki came into rescue at a beautifully appropriate weight. At her veterinary visits she weighed approximately 7.4–7.5 pounds, with an ideal body-condition score.
Her intake examination was otherwise reassuring: her eyes and ears were clear, heart and lung examinations were normal, her abdomen was comfortable, her skin and coat looked good, and she was walking normally without observed lameness. Her fecal testing was also negative for parasites, Giardia and Coccidia.
The big item on Chiki’s medical to-do list was her mouth.
She arrived with moderate dental disease, and rescue took care of it. Chiki underwent a full dental cleaning with dental X-rays and had nine teeth extracted. Her pre-anesthetic bloodwork was reported as normal.
So yes, girlfriend got the full dental spa package.
She is also microchipped, is reported as up to date on her core vaccines, received ProHeart heartworm prevention and Bravecto flea/tick prevention, and had her nails trimmed and anal glands expressed while getting established with rescue.
What Chiki needs now
For eight years, Chiki knew exactly where she belonged.
Then life changed around her.
Now she needs someone willing to give her the time to understand that she belongs somewhere again.
Her ideal adopter will appreciate a dog who wants closeness, won't be rattled by some barking, understands that she may initially be suspicious of newcomers, and is willing to work patiently on house training and separation anxiety.
Chiki isn't the dog for somebody looking for a perfectly programmed

12. Hazel
Senior (14 years 4 months) · Female · Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed (medium coat) · 80 mi from College Station

Est. DOB 4/26/12, weight 9 lbs
Meet Hazel!
Hazel is a sweet, spunky little girl with just the right mix of independence and affection. She has a personality all her own, but once she decides it’s time for some love, she wants to be right next to her person—or better yet, held like the baby she believes she is!
Hazel is a pretty mellow girl who enjoys the quiet life. Give her a soft bed, a cozy blanket to burrow under, and a person willing to cuddle, and she’s a happy pup. She’s great with people, dogs, and cats, and she’s not much of a barker, making her an easygoing companion.
She’s also a low-maintenance girl when it comes to day-to-day life.
Read more about Hazel
Hazel is house trained, does well in her crate, and is happy to settle in and relax. She is hard of hearing and mostly blind (but it doesn’t slow her down at all!) and requires daily OTC eye drops for her "dry eye," but these are an easy part of her routine.
Hazel was found roaming in the middle of a street, and we’re so glad she’s now safe and getting the chance to show everyone what a wonderful companion she can be. She would love a calm home where she can enjoy the simple things in life: a cozy spot, some cuddles, and a person to call her own.
If you’re looking for a sweet, quiet, easygoing companion who can be independent one minute and a total cuddle bug the next, Hazel may be your girl!
HOPE ID 26-0801-0034
Hazel’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas.

If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site that Hazel will be this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you.

15. Curry
Senior · Male · Boxer · 90 mi from College Station

Hi! My name is Curry! I am a handsome fawn 6 year old boy but I am not your average senior. I still enjoy and require plenty of exercise and will get restless without it! I am high energy and enjoy a 'job' to occupy me. I am friendly with other dogs, even those smaller than me. I needed a short introduction to the resident boxers and was curious but not aggressive. It was found out that I do not like cats, so a cat free home is needed. I love to play catch, play fetch, car rides, and play with toys all night! I am house trained, crate trained, can self soothe, know basic commands, and am doggy door trained! I also appreciate good hygiene and love to shower! I often go into the shower and beg my foster mom to turn the water on.

8/27/2026Milo V is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Milo V! I am a handsome 6 year old flashy fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my family having a baby and moving into an apartment with no yard. I am described as friendly, active, and playful! I do not currently live with another dog but am said to be good around female dogs and unknown how I am with male dogs. I live with two cats and I am great with them! I will chase them but once I can tell they aren't playing anymore I will walk away. I currently live with 3 kids (ages 9 month to 4 years) and I am good with them, however I do not know my size and will accidentally knock over a smaller child if playing, but I mean no harm! I will bark at unfamiliar people in my home, especially if in my crate, but once I see my humans interacting with them I am fine.

19. Mia III
Senior · Female · Boxer · 90 mi from College Station

Hi! My name is Mia III! I am a 6 year old fawn girl that had a short stay in the shelter as an owner surrender due to a "new baby" in my old family. A volunteer saved me and now I am in a foster home and doing great! I am an "all energy" type of girl! My foster home expected a senior but I came packed with energy and alot of love to give! I love to be close to people or pets, go for car rides, snuggle, take part in any human activity (cooking, watching tv, playing computer, crafting, etc), have learned home routines well, and am enjoying being everyone's shadow! I enjoy being outside to sunbathe and most importantly, run! I love toys and the louder the better! I love water! Whether it's my entire face in the bowl or the hose outside, I will soak myself until I can't anymore! I am house trained, crate trained, and leash trained.

While I love everyone, a home with older children who can maintain their balance due to me being a trip hazard would be best. I have very limited exposure with the senior cat in the home. I am extremely curious, but also hesitant with it. There are two resident dogs and I love playing and living among them. I play hard, can outlast even the youngest one, cuddle with them, and cannot picture myself without another dog in my forever home! It's not necessarily a recommendation but a requirement that I have a dog companion to play and relax with! I greet everyone with my whole body which I am actively working on polishing that manner and keeping all paws on the floor! If you think I would make a great addition to your family and you are consistent, patient and gentle in guiding me to be the best girl I can be, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you! This baby was dumped at the shelter as a Euthanasia request by his family. The dog they loved them for years, needed eye meds and a dental. He was not neutered either (he is now)
Thankfully he was HW negative, but sadly his fecal tested positive for giardia. (treated and recovered!)
He lost a BUNCH of teeth in his dental.
He's a happy, friendly little guy who wants nothing more than to be loved. He's a great little dog!!! Can he come be your baby? Can you give him the home he deserves?

7/11/2026Zoey XII is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Zoey XII! I am a beautiful 8 year old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to my owners having life changes and busy schedules. I am described as friendly, smart, calm, affectionate, quiet, and obedient! I am partially blind in one eye and have stiff back legs when I lie down in one place too long but I do not let that slow me down! I have lived with three dogs, four cats and kittens, chickens, baby chicks, and goats and am animal friendly! I seem to love dogs and cats seem to gravitate towards me. There are three kids in my home (ages 6 months-13 years) and I am good with them and other children that visit the home! I am house trained, crate trained, know basic commands, and at night I sleep in the entryway room with a jumbo memory foam bed.

When the humans are away, I am not crated and am not destructive and will stay in an area if it is blocked off. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am afraid of loud noises, thunder, and fireworks. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, staying in the a/c when it's hot outside, belly rubs, hugs, treats, light walks, sleep, and getting love! My current owner says I am a calm and amazing dog that smiles when I'm happy. If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

7/5/2026Lucy IX is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! We are Linus and Lucy IX! We are beautiful 7 year old fawn littermates who are owner surrenders due to our owner being unable to afford to care for us. We are littermates and have never been apart, therefore we need to be adopted together which means double the Boxer love and fun for you! We are described as friendly, active, smart, noisy, playful, affectionate, and nervous! We have not had exposure to many other dogs but live with a rescue pug and after a few weeks of getting used to him, we are very close with him. We occasionally see stray cats on the property we live at but due to us being in a fenced area, we do not have interaction with them and will bark at them.

We have had limited exposure to children but our owner's niece occasionally visits and after giving us time to calm down, we are allowed to interact with her and we are great and will even lay next to her to watch a movie or stay by her side. We are always happy to see new people and it takes a few minutes for us to contain our excitement! We are house trained but will need crate training if that is required in our forever home. At night we sleep on the couch, love seat, or recliner and if the humans must be away, we are good being left alone. When outside we have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of our fears include thunder and fireworks but we love riding in the car, chew toys, playing tug of war with rope toys, daily walks in the morning and evening, snuggling, sitting next to the humans, and getting pets from the humans! If you think we would make a great addition to your home, contact the rescue today and give them our names because we are waiting to meet you!

30. Meatball
Senior (8 years 2 months) · Male · Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 53 mi from College Station

Meet Meatball!
Meatball was rescued thanks to some caring neighbors who could no longer watch him spend his days chained up in a front yard. During the recent heat, they approached his owners, who sadly admitted they no longer wanted him.
Despite spending most of his life with very little love, attention, or proper care, Meatball has remained incredibly sweet and gentle. He doesn't seem to hold a grudge against the world—he's simply grateful for kindness and affection.
This senior gentleman deserves to know what it feels like to be part of a family, to sleep on a soft bed, and to be loved for the rest of his days.

Adopting a senior dog in College Station
Older dogs are usually calm, affectionate and happy with shorter walks, which makes them a good match for older adults and first-time dog owners.
Ask the rescue about the dog's health and vet history. Many rescues charge less to adopt a senior dog.
Many small dogs live to 15 or older, so a senior dog can still be part of your family for years.
