Meet Max! Max is a 3-year-old, 12-pound Terrier mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for snuggles! He enjoys playing fetch, lounging with his favorite humans, and doing the cutest little booty bounce when he's excited. He's friendly with new people, rides well in the car, knows how to sit, and is eager to learn.Max is still working on his house training and manners. He can be vocal in his crate, pulls on leash, and needs help learning not to dash out the door. He's made progress with his mouthiness but will need a patient adopter committed to continuing his training.Max can be territorial when first meeting other dogs but tends to settle with time and proper introductions.

He mostly ignores cats, though supervision is important. He's done well with a 7-year-old child, but a home without younger children is recommended.Max would love an active home with regular walks or a fenced yard, plenty of cuddles, and someone willing to help him become the best little companion he can be. 3. Fledermaus
Adult · Male · French Bulldog · 19 mi from South Jordan

Meet Fledermaus! A Little Frenchie with a Big Presence ❤️Fledermaus is a 4.5-year-old, 19-pound French Bulldog with a sweet personality, a funny little face, and a whole lot of love to give. He enjoys naps, treats, leisurely strolls around the yard, and rubbing up against his favorite people for affection. He also has a way of staring right into your soul that is equal parts hilarious and adorable!Fledermaus is looking for a special home with someone who understands that, like many French Bulldogs, he has some ongoing health needs. He takes daily medications, eats prescription food, and requires regular veterinary care to keep him comfortable and healthy.
Read more about Fledermaus
His adopter should be prepared for continued vet visits, consistent daily care, and the possibility that his needs may change over time.Fledermaus has had surgery to open his nasal passages but remains prone to sinus infections. He also has urinary crystals that require lifelong prescription food and monitoring, an enlarged heart managed with daily medication, and chronic eye problems that require daily eye drops. He has some vision loss, along with a head tilt and occasional moments of seeming to space out that may indicate a neurological issue. His future family will need to stay on top of his care and work with their veterinarian to address any new concerns.Personality-wise, Fledermaus is a pretty easygoing little dude. He warms up quickly to people but generally prefers to observe new visitors rather than make a big fuss. He's quiet, does well in a crate, rides nicely in the car, and enjoys a low-key lifestyle. Walks are leisurely affairs, and sometimes he decides he'd rather not go any farther! House training has been a challenge, so his adopter will need patience and a plan for helping him with consistent potty routines. He generally gets along well with other dogs. Sometimes he'll engage in a little wrestling session, but most of the time he's happy to do his own thing. He could live with other dogs or be an only pet. He would ignore cats, too. Fledermaus gets overly excited about treats and may bite when trying to grab food from people's hands, even when no treat is present. For this reason, he is not recommended for a home with children.Fledermaus would thrive in a calm, predictable home with an adopter who has experience with dogs requiring medical care and in particular, brachycephalic dogs and is prepared to manage his ongoing medical care. He needs someone who will keep up with his daily treatments, recognize when something seems off, and make his comfort and well-being a priority. In return, you'll get a funny, affectionate little companion who loves being near his people, enjoys the simple things in life, and will happily make you laugh with his expressions and quirky noises.Fledermaus isn't asking for a perfect home. He's asking for a committed one. If you have the experience, patience, and resources to give this special little Frenchie the care he needs, he may be the perfect match for you!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. 5. Hollis
Adult (6 years 1 month) · Male · Chihuahua (short coat) · 15 mi from South Jordan

Hi world, meet Hollis!
The sweetest 5-year-old male Chihuahua mix.
We're not sure what the first five years of Hollis' life were like, but it's clear they weren't easy. He came to us skin and bones, afraid of human touch and scared of just about everything.
So, we got to work on socializing him! We're happy to say that, even though Hollis is still cautious and will likely always be a bit of a scaredy-cat, he's doing SO well! He gets along great with dogs, cats, chickens, and goats. He even tries to initiate play with other dogs!
Read more about Hollis
Hollis bonds HARD with his human and will happily be your little shadow wherever you go. He loves sleeping under the covers at your feet, curling up in your lap, or lounging on the back of the couch while keeping an eye on the neighborhood.
He's crate-trained, potty-trained on a schedule, and has excellent house manners. He's full grown at about 12lbs, but his goal weight is more like 15.
Hollis is a fairly quiet boy, but get the pitch just right, and he'll happily howl along with music or squeaky toys!
It's been such a joy watching this sweet boy come out of his shell and flourish. And now that he's blossoming, it's time for him to find his special people!
If you have a little patience and a whole lot of love to give, apply to meet Hollis! I promise, you're going to love him!

6. Blaise
Adult (1 year) · Male · Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) · 15 mi from South Jordan

LET THE HOLIDAYS BEGIN!
Hi everyone, my name is Blaise and I am so excited to introduce myself to you!
Halloween is just a few days away and that kicks off the Holiday Season for the next
couple of months. My wish is to find my forever family so we can spend the holidays getting
to know each other and settle into my new life. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I am a 10 to 12 months old (best guess) male terrier mix and I weigh in at about 10 pounds.
My foster Mom thinks I may be Westie (West Highland) terrier mix but regardless of what
kind of mix I am how can you not love my cute little expressive face and those ears? My
Read more about Blaise
hair is pretty soft and I am getting used to being brushed. I am working really hard on my
house training and doing very well if kept on a schedule so a family that will continue my training will help me to be the bestest boy I can be. I have not been around kids yet, but I have never meet a stranger. Kids over 10 would be fine! I have figured out the routine here in my foster home and I sleep quietly through the night in my kennel. I love playing with the other dogs and I am even learning to play with toys but my favorite is chewing on the bones.
I am so happy that I even smile, that's right a big cheesy grin! The first time I smiled at foster Mom she thought I was snarling but nope, it is a real smile! Foster Mom says I like to talk to you as well, and why not? I have a lot to say. When I watch TV I tilt my head from side to side trying to figure out the plot of the show. I am pretty smart if I do say so myself so if you are looking for a quick study that is loyal as can be I may be the man for the job.

7. Shay
Adult · Female · Chihuahua / Mixed · 19 mi from South Jordan

Meet Shay! Inside the house, I am an absolute dream — a sweet, loving, and fun 2-year-old, 12-lb Chihuahua who is ready to find my forever family! I used to be called Shadow because I love to stick right by your side. In fact, my favorite thing in the world is to sleep right next to you on a pillow or cuddle in your lap for some TV time! I am also a secret athlete—if you throw a soft plushy toy, I will happily retrieve it for you and I frequently get the zoomies.I get along with other dogs and cats, once I've had time to settle in and feel comfortable. At first, I can be nervous and a little snappy until I know they are friends not foe.

While I am a total cuddle bug indoors, the big wide world outside still feels pretty scary to me right now. Every tiny noise makes me look over my shoulder, so I am still working hard on my outdoor potty training. Because the outside world intimidates me, I need a patient adopter who understands the 3-3-3 rule of dog rescue. I don't love to be left alone for long and will cry when left, so a home without shared walls would be best. With a predictable routine, a furry sibling to show me the ropes, and a little time to decompress, I know my confidence will bloom! If you are looking for a loyal, plushy-retrieving shadow to keep you company, I’m ready to meet you!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. 15. Symon
Young (9 months) · Male · Dachshund / Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat) · 15 mi from South Jordan

Hi. It’s me. Symon.
I’m a 10-month-old, 10-pound Chihuahua, and apparently I am currently accepting applications for my third adoptive home. ♀️
Before you judge me, I’d like to point out that I am VERY good at relationships.
I just prefer them one person at a time.
Here’s the deal: I pick a person. Usually it’s a woman, although I reserve the right to surprise everyone. Once I choose you, congratulations! You are now MY PERSON. I will love you, adore you, follow you around, and basically make you the center of my tiny Chihuahua universe.
Everyone else?
✨ Absolutely not. ✨
Read more about Symon
Did they walk into the room? Suspicious.
Did they shift positions on the couch? Rude.
Did they have the audacity to make a noise somewhere in MY house?
INTRUDER ALERT. INTRUDER ALERT.
Yes, I will bark. Yes, I may growl. Yes, I am only 10 pounds. No, that information does not affect my confidence whatsoever.
So after two adoption attempts, my foster mom and I have stopped pretending I’m looking for the average family. I’m not. I’m looking for my weirdly specific perfect person.
My dream setup?
A single-person household—a woman would probably be my best match
At least one other dog, because I actually do really well living with canine roommates
A dog door would be AMAZING
Why the dog door? At my foster home, where I have other dogs and access to a dog door, I’ve done great with potty training. In both adoptive homes, however, I had some pee accidents. My foster mom suspects having other dogs to follow and the freedom to take myself outside makes a big difference for me.
Basically, I need someone who isn’t looking at this bio thinking, “Oh, he’ll get used to my husband, three kids, Grandma, and the neighborhood book club.”
Ma’am.
I will not.
I’m not a social butterfly. I’m more of a social barnacle. I would like to attach myself to ONE chosen human and spend the rest of my life being ridiculously devoted to her while maintaining serious concerns about everyone else’s activities.
I’ve been returned twice because the homes weren’t the right fit. So this time, we’re not looking for a home.
We’re looking for MY home.
If you’re a woman living alone, already have a dog or two, have a dog door, and have ever thought, “You know what my life is missing? A tiny, emotionally codependent security system,”…
HELLO. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU. ❤️
Love,
Symon
P.S. If you live alone and hear a strange noise at 2 a.m., don’t worry. I heard it first. I have already filed a complaint.
