Cat-Friendly Dogs for Adoption in Appleton, WI: 30 Dogs Good with Cats

Tortilla is 37lbs and ready to go home! She is a little nervous, so we don't recommend small children for her. She would do better with older children that are respectful of boundaries. She seems to do well with male dogs and does not seem to mind cats. Tortilla's adoption fee is $200 + tax. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting this house noodle, you can fill out an application on our website!

When meeting new dogs, he appreciates a slow introduction to warm up, but once he’s comfortable, he does just fine! His previous family had young children, another dog, and a cat, but unfortunately, life got too busy for them to give Charlie the time and attention he deserves. Now, this sweet boy is looking for a fresh start with a family who can make him a priority.
If you're looking for a loving, low-key little companion to add to your family, Charlie might just be your guy!

Name: Tito
Age: 1yr old
Breed: Poodle/Bichon mix
Gender: Male
Weight: 24 lbs

Tito got a first class seat out of Texas where he was picked up as a stray and sadly no one ever came to claim him.

Training and Manners
House trained: He promises to work hard on this
Crate trained: Yes
Social Skills: He can be cautious if he doesn't know you but warms up quickly
Dog Friendly: Yes, very
Cat Friendly: Yes

Personality
It is sad that there are so many stray dogs down south and Tito is one of the lucky ones to come north in hopes of finding him a forever home. This handsome boy is sweet and gentle once he has a little bit to get to know you. Because he is cautious at first, we think he would do better in a home without young children. He really loves other dogs, no matter their size. This happy boy will "wow" your friends and neighbors with his stunning good looks! He will love a home where he can go for walks, run through the house with his toys and curl up next to you for a nap. For those looking for little to no shedding, he would be great.

Ideal Home:
Tito would love a calmer home where he can be your best companion. His medium energy level is just enough to get you off the couch for a daily walk. He is looking forward to his first snowfall and becoming a Packer fan.

Biff is proof that the best things in life come with a wagging tail and a head full of curls. This handsome 8-year-old poodle mix is an absolute sweetheart who has quickly won hearts with his gentle personality and affectionate nature. His little tail seems to have only one speed: nonstop wagging!

Biff has been a perfect gentleman in his foster home. He's doing great in his kennel, knows how to use a doggy door, and loves nothing more than curling up beside his people for a cozy nap. He walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is always happy to tag along for whatever adventure the day brings.

As Biff settles in, he does wear a belly band, especially with several other dogs around, but so far he has been wonderfully well-mannered indoors. He's taking all these changes in stride and showing everyone what a sweet, easygoing companion he is.

Biff has been diagnosed with Cushing's disease, which will require ongoing medication management. He has a veterinary appointment on Monday to determine the best treatment plan moving forward. One side effect of Cushing's is an increased appetite, and Biff definitely loves his snacks! His future family will need to help manage his diet, but the good news is that he absolutely loves toys, making them a perfect reward and enrichment tool.

If you're looking for a loyal snuggle buddy, a great passenger for car rides, and a loving companion with a heart as big as his appetite, Biff might just be your perfect match. ❤️

Tilly has been doing really good with the resident dogs and cats in her foster. She is a puppy and is learning the potty routine. She is also learning the kennel routine, she really isn't a fan of the kennel right now because she would rather be right by her person but we know she will get the kennel routine down.

If you are looking for a sweet little girl that just wants to be your shadow and give cuddles and kisses, this girl just might be the one for you.

Bijou and Dash came in as a bonded pair when their owner went into a nursing home. They do take some time to warm up to new people but do well together. They were housetrained in their home, but may need a little retraining in a new home after being in the shelter. These dogs deserve a home to live out their senior years, and we are hoping to be able to keep them together. Bijou is Dash's mother, so they have been together for many years. They have been updated on vet care including dentals, so now they just need a home.

We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation.

If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com. Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs. Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to.

We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home. Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.

We are located in Mukwonago, WI. Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt. Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog. All dogs are seen by appointment only.

The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax. Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer. Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.

To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value). You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts. You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee. Thankfully, these babies were given a fighting chance. They were bottle-fed and lovingly cared for until they were old enough to safely make the journey to Wisconsin, where their next chapter and forever families await.

Now, let's talk about Biscuit.

This boy is LOUD and PROUD! He's curious, adventurous, and always looking for the next bit of chaos he can create. And when that chaos catches up with him? Well, he's pretty quick to duck behind a sibling and let someone else take the blame. He's got a big personality packed into one adorable little body, and we have a feeling his future family is going to have their hands full in the very best way!

As with any puppy this young, Biscuit is not yet potty trained or fully kennel trained. His future family will need patience, consistency, and a good sense of humor as he learns all about being a good boy.

And a special shoutout to one of our wonderful veterinary partners Heritage Animal Hospital Greenville/Hortonville for giving this little guy his perfect name! ❤️

Biscuit is ready to find a family who will love him through all the puppy chaos, adventures, and everything in between!
