2. Dior
Adult · Male · French Bulldog

Say hello to Dior, an almost 3-year-old French Bulldog with a big personality packed into 23 pounds of brindle perfection! This silly little guy loves being wherever his people are, following you from room to room, soaking up affection, and making sure you always know what he’s thinking with his signature Frenchie grumbles. He’s a total sweetheart who loves to be held and included in all the daily activities. He does have a preference for having his people around. He isn't a fan of being crated when everyone is home and would much rather be out enjoying their company. He may whine briefly in his crate when he's ready to be done or hears people moving around, but he settles down quickly.
Read more about Dior
He can also let out a few short, fairly mild barks when he hears cars, neighbors, or other noises. He isn't typically a prolonged barker when left alone.Dior would love a home where someone is around more often than not and where he can be part of the family. He would appreciate a family who enjoys a little playtime indoors and a couple of short, leisurely walks each day. Due to his current breathing limitations, walks should be kept short with plenty of breaks.Like many French Bulldogs, Dior needs a little extra attention when it comes to his skin. Regular medicated baths and skin moisturizers will be important to keep him comfortable, and he may need seasonal Apoquel if his dry skin isn't adequately controlled. He will also be on a contract for his nares (nostril) and soft palate surgery. His breathing currently limits his exercise, so his adopter should be prepared to continue being mindful of his activity and comfort.Dior is a goofy, affectionate, slightly grumbly little companion who just wants to be loved and included. He has so much personality, so much sweetness, and so much love to give. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who will make you laugh, keep you company, and happily accept all the cuddles you have to offer, Dior might just be your guy!If you are interested in Dior, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. 3. Eddie Munster
Young · Male · Wirehaired Fox Terrier

Meet Eddie Munster, a little dog with a big personality, an adorable underbite, and a heart that just needs a little time to feel safe! At 9 months old and 16 pounds, this tan Wirehaired Terrier is a sweet, playful little guy who loves snuggling with his people, playing with other dogs, and discovering all the fun things life has to offer.Eddie was quite nervous when he first arrived in foster care, but he's making progress every day. He enjoys toys, games of chase with other dogs, and exploring on walks. Crunchy fall leaves are a particular favorite, and he loves plowing through them! He's also a champion blanket snuggler.
Read more about Eddie Munster
Rather than lying on top of his blankets, he'll bunch them up and curl around them like he's spooning a friend.Eddie gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion who likes to play without being too intense. He's also done well around his foster family's young granddaughters, but because he can be skittish, a home with children 13 and older is recommended. His experience with cats is limited, so that's still an unknown.Eddie does need a little extra patience and understanding when it comes to handling. When he was found, he was severely matted, including around his neck and face, and needed to be sedated and shaved to safely remove the mats. While we don't know exactly what he experienced before coming into rescue, he is now very uncomfortable with having a collar, harness, or leash put on or taken off. When he feels frightened or overwhelmed during this process, he may use his mouth to express his discomfort. His foster family is working with a trainer to help him feel more comfortable with handling, and he's making progress. He currently walks successfully using a slip lead, but his future family will need to be patient and committed to continuing his training with gentle, positive reinforcement. Building trust and helping Eddie feel safe will be an important part of his journey.Eddie is also still learning his potty-training skills and making progress, especially with frequent outdoor breaks. He settles into his crate fairly quickly once he's inside, although he isn't a fan of going in. He's an energetic pup who enjoys a good walk and plenty of playtime, and a securely fenced yard is required. Eddie is a talented escape artist who can dart through an open door in a flash, so careful management is important.Despite his rough start, Eddie is a very loving little dog who wants to cuddle, play, and be part of a family. He'll need an adopter who understands that building trust takes time and who is willing to help him continue gaining confidence at his own pace. The right patient, committed home will make all the difference for this special little guy!If you are interested in Eddie, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. 4. Agatha Christie
Young · Female · Pit Bull Terrier / Terrier / Mixed

Meet Agatha Christie, the adorable pocket pittie with a big personality and an even bigger love for cuddles! At almost 8 months old and 22 pounds, this sweet gray-and-white girl is short, stocky, and full of puppy charm. Her two favorite things are playing with her people and soaking up affection. If there's a lap available, Aggie is happy to claim it!Agatha loves toys, playing with other dogs, and getting attention from just about everyone. She's been wonderful with her foster family's 3- and 7-year-old granddaughters, enjoying cuddles and games of tug-of-war. She also gets along well with other dogs, although her wrestling style can be pretty enthusiastic! A canine companion who enjoys a good play session would be a bonus.
Read more about Agatha Christie
Cats are an unknown, although her foster family suspects she'd be curious and playful. At home, Agatha has a medium-low energy level, with a daily walk and some playtime keeping her happy. She's still working on leash manners and potty training, but she's making progress! She keeps her crate clean and dry overnight and settles in nicely once she's inside, although she may need a little encouragement at bedtime.Agatha has a few adorable quirks, too. If she's in her puppy pen and feels like she's missing out on something, she'll climb up and rest her front paws on top, peeking over the edge with the most pitiful, longing expression. And with her short legs, broad chest, and muscular build, her little crouching walk has been compared to something straight out of The Nightmare Before Christmas!Agatha is being treated for a skin infection that is clearing up nicely, and her small patches of missing fur are expected to grow back. She is scheduled to be spayed on November 7.This little pocket pittie is an absolute sweetheart who wants nothing more than to be part of the fun, stay close to her people, and receive all the cuddles she can get. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate pup with a whole lot of personality, Agatha Christie might just be your leading lady!If you are interested in Agatha, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. I’m also crate trained, although if I had my way, I’d much rather be hanging out with my people. Even though I’m a little guy, I can handle stairs like a champ! I’m not leash trained just yet, but I’m a smart boy, so I’m sure I’ll master that in no time.

8. Franklin
Young · Male · Black Labrador Retriever

Meet Franklin! This handsome 1-year-old Lab mix weighs about 60 pounds and is a sweet, playful guy with lots of energy and an enthusiasm for life. Franklin loves toys, especially his Kong, tug-of-war, Benebones, and long-lasting chews. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and even puts himself to bed in his crate when he is ready to settle down!Franklin is a smart, active boy who needs an adopter committed to providing plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, structure, and consistent boundaries. He loves to run and is treadmill-trained. Nose-work games are another great way to help him use his brain and burn off energy.

Franklin is still working on impulse control and manners, so he will benefit from someone who can provide consistent guidance, routine, and positive reinforcement to help him become the best version of himself.Franklin loves having a canine companion! A confident, balanced, even-tempered resident dog would be a wonderful addition to his new home, as he enjoys having a playmate who can also help him learn to relax. He even prefers his crate to be next to his dog friend. However, a resident dog is preferred rather than required, and Franklin may do well as the only dog with the right support and structure. His compatibility with cats is unknown.Franklin's biggest challenge is being alone. He has separation anxiety and takes medication to help manage it. When left alone, he may bark incessantly, particularly if he does not have something appropriate to chew. He needs an adopter who understands separation anxiety and is prepared to continue working with him on it. A home without shared walls is required because of his barking when left alone.Franklin is a big, boisterous boy who can be a little too enthusiastic, so he needs a home with no children under 13. With the right match, consistent guidance, plenty of activity, and a canine buddy, Franklin has so much potential to grow into a wonderful companion. If you are looking for an active dog to join you on adventures and are ready to help him work through his challenges, Franklin may be your guy!If you are interested in Franklin, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. 9. Delilah
Adult · Female · German Shepherd Dog / Terrier / Mixed

Meet Delilah, a gentle, easygoing girl whose idea of a perfect day involves belly rubs, cozy couch time, and being surrounded by people who love her! This 4-year-old German Shepherd mix weighs 70 pounds and has a heart as big as her love for snuggling. Delilah is a true couch potato who would much rather relax with her favorite humans than go on a long hike or run a marathon. She enjoys leisurely walks, especially when there is plenty of time to sniff and explore and is happy with a couple of short walks each day.Delilah is wonderful with children of all ages and is calm, patient, and gentle when little ones come by to pet her.
Read more about Delilah
She also gets along with other dogs, especially those who are laid-back and respectful of her space. She enjoys playful outings with canine friends but prefers not to roughhouse, and rowdy, reactive, or overly enthusiastic dogs can make her feel nervous. She has also lived with cats in foster homes and reportedly ignores them, making her a potential fit for a home with feline friends. At home, Delilah is quiet, house-trained, and wonderfully content to spend an evening lounging on the couch with her people. She loves belly rubs, affection, and kibble, and she’s recently started discovering the fun of toys! She’s still learning how to play and beginning to get the hang of it. She may not climb into your lap, but she will happily rest her head or a paw against you to stay close. Just be prepared to share the couch, because Delilah is perfectly capable of claiming the whole thing!Delilah does have some separation anxiety and takes medication to help manage it. She may get into a little mischief while you're away, such as relocating your shoes, but she does not need to be glued to your side. She simply likes knowing someone is home and can eventually settle down for a nap when left alone. She is not crate-trained and is uncomfortable with being crated, so her future family should be prepared to accommodate her without relying on a crate. And one more thing about this princess: Delilah is not a fan of wet paws! A little drizzle may earn you a very judgmental look as she wonders why anyone would expect her to venture outside in such conditions. She will happily wait for better weather if given the choice.Delilah would love a home where she can enjoy plenty of companionship, gentle affection, and a relaxed daily routine. A family with multiple people would be especially nice, and another calm, compatible dog could be a bonus, though she doesn't need a canine companion to be happy. If you're looking for a sweet, low-key friend who will happily trade adventure-filled days for cozy evenings and endless belly rubs, Delilah might just be your girl!If you are interested in Delilah, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adult · Male · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat)

Brucey is a 3-year-old Lab mix with a story that’s still being written. Found as a stray, he spent some time in a foster home before finding himself back in a shelter. The shelter environment has been stressful for him, and he’s feeling anxious with all the changes and commotion around him.
Brucey deserves a chance to feel safe, settled, and loved again. A shelter can be an overwhelming place, and we know that the real Brucey may shine brightest when he’s back in a home where he can relax and let his personality come through.
He’s looking for a patient, understanding family who will give him time to decompress, build trust, and adjust at his own pace.

11. Spy
2 Years 11 Months · Male · Unknown breed

My foster family reports that I am very mindful, very demure. I love to play with toys but I am very gentle about it. I've learned very quickly how to ask how to go outside/inside and I am working on mastering stairs (reports are that I am a very fast learner and am picking up how to do stairs quickly). I am good in my kennel as well. Some of my favorite things are car rides, a fun romp in the yard, and laying blissfully in a sunbeam. I am respectful of the resident cats (they actually scare me a little bit) and I don't have a super high prey drive. I thoroughly enjoy a good walk and have even jogged a bit with my foster family, who reports I am excellent on leash (I do request plenty of sniff stops on my adventures). I think I "spy" my future family- could that be you?
12. Candi
Adult (3 years 10 months) · Female · Greyhound

Calling anyone with a sweet tooth! True to my name, my foster family reports that I am a very sweet girl who loves her naps (I take my retirement very seriously). Slippery floors still make me nervous, and I am still a little unsure about walks (but I am still learning the ropes). Long walks/hikes are probably not for me- I would prefer to spend my days inside snoozing on a comfy dog bed or in my kennel. In fact, I will do my business outside very quickly so I can get back into bed! I am excitedly cautious about meeting new people, but my foster family reports that overall I seem to do well with people, other dogs, and can be redirected away from cats/small animals. Do you need a little "Candi" in your life?

13. Beretta
Adult (3 years 10 months) · Female · Greyhound

Beretta's the name, and loving people and walks is the game! My foster family reports that I am a very sweet and friendly girl. I am always super excited when I get a chance to meet new new people and new dogs. I enjoy going on a good walk where I can sniff all of the things. I would love to chase small furry animals on walks, so a home without cats or small animals would be best. I am still working on learning how to go up long flights of stairs and being left alone in my kennel, but I do enjoy relaxing in my kennel when people are home during the day. I just love people and want to be with them as much as possible! If you're looking for a velcro dog, I'm your girl!

14. Luli
Adult (3 years 1 month) · Female · Greyhound

Hi, I'm Luli! My foster family reports that I am a very sweet, quiet girl who enjoys a good backyard play session with my canine foster siblings. I tend to follow the humans around the house to keep an eye on them. I adore attention, and will make it easy for you to pet me by laying my head on you. I am a little hesitant with slippery floors and prefer to have a rug or carpet under my feet, but my foster family is working on this with me. I don't have a super high prey drive- I like to look at the small creatures, but not lunge. I currently live with two cats that I do very well with, and I enjoy resting in my kennel. My foster family reports that I do very well on leash and would love to go on long walks. Will you be my walking buddy?

15. Lola
Adult · Female · Poodle (unknown type) / Golden Retriever / Mixed (medium coat)

Lola is a 5-year-old Goldendoodle looking for a place to call home! Originally found as a stray, she was later surrendered by her owner due to her tendency to run off.
Lola will need a family committed to helping her work on her recall and keeping her safe. A securely fenced yard would be ideal, or an adopter willing to consistently work on training and reinforce boundaries.
With the right home and a little patience, Lola is ready for her next chapter! Could you be the one to give this sweet girl the safe and loving home she deserves? ❤️

Hi! Hi! Hi! Did I say hi yet? My name is Sally, but sometimes my foster mom calls me Salligator, Salmonella. I’ll respond to pretty much anything, especially when you tell me I’m a pretty girl. My fur must be velcro, because I Absolutley am stuck to my humans side

. I get anxious when you’re not around, but I promise to behave when you’re gone! That leads me to the thing they call a kennel. Can we just say, no thank you?! I am working hard on kennel training but it’s very scary for me. You see, I just want to be near and beside my humans at all times. I’m also working hard on commands. I know sit, stay, and am so close to mastering heel. I live with a thing that meows, but I really don’t mind it! I’m interested in the cat, but I don’t chase. I’ve been waiting patiently to be near the cat, and we finally sat together a few days ago! I love sleeping on the bed with my person/people. Walking? I’m a pro. I don’t pull on the leash, and I don’t zig-zag too much. If I see another dog on a walk, I just look in its direction. Call me to come and keep walking and I will! Seeing other humans on walks doesn’t bother me either. I am just eager to share my love with everyone! My foster mom says I’m one of the quietest Boxers ever… except for my snoring! I also live with tiny human that has special needs, and I’m so gentle with her! Again, just being near my humans is where I want to be. My foster mom says I’m an ambassador for being America’s Sweetheart!

18. Eddie
Adult · Male · German Shorthaired Pointer / Labrador Retriever / Mixed

Eddie is a 2-year-old Black Lab who is sweet, strong, and incredibly loyal! Weighing in at around 55 pounds, he’ll stick by your side like it’s his full-time job. This young pup is house-trained and crate-trained. He does well in his crate for extended periods, settling in after a few minutes. Eddie loves standing on his hind legs to watch the world through the window or gently grabbing your hand with his paw just to keep you close. He loves chew toys, tug-of-war, and most of all, your attention. He usually has at least two walks a day and some active play like tug-of-war or zoomies around the yard.
Read more about Eddie
His leash manners are still a work in progress, so his future family should give some extra training to help guide him.He would prefer a home where someone is around often. Loud noises and unfamiliar people can spook him, but with patience and routine, he’s learning to feel more confident. Eddie is not able to live in a home with other dogs because he becomes very overstimulated when he sees them. He hasn’t lived with cats or children.Eddie is looking for a home to grow up in and give love in return! Are you ready for Eddie? If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. 19. Bennie
Young (3 months 6 days) · Male · American Pit Bull Terrier

Meet Bennie!
Professional Snuggler • Treat Enthusiast • Zoomie Champion
Name: Bennie (aka Benji, Bennie Boo, Bennie Boy)
Age: Approximately 3.5 months
Size: 13 pounds of puppy sweetness and still growing!
Activity Level: Moderate! I love a good nap, snuggle session, and occasional burst of puppy zoomies. Play hard, nap harder!
Favorite Activities: Snuggling, sunbathing, exploring, chasing kiddos, hunting for treats, and taking very important naps!
Read more about Bennie
Things I Know: I’m a smart little cookie, especially when food is involved! I’m learning to sit, wait patiently for meals, and go to the door when I need to potty. I’m making great progress with potty training and my kennel routine, with just a few puppy oopsies along the way!
Things I’m Learning: The world can be a little scary! I’m practicing leash walking, building confidence, and learning that loud noises, barking dogs, and even the wind aren’t so frightening. A little reassurance (and a treat!) goes a long way.
Kids: LOVE them! Running, chasing, playing, giving kisses, and snuggling are my specialties!
Dogs: I do well with dogs of all sizes! I currently live with two large senior dogs and know when to give them space. Loud barking can still startle me, though!
Cats: Unknown, but slow introductions would be best.
Car Rides: I’m a good passenger! New places can make me nervous, so I appreciate having my humans nearby.
Bennie is a sweet, silly, affectionate little guy who’s slowly coming out of his shell! He’s incredibly food motivated (he already knows where the treat pantry is), eager to learn, and happiest when he’s close to his people.
He’s a sensitive soul who seeks comfort when something startles him, but his confidence grows a little more every day!
His favorite thing? SNUGGLING! He loves tucking his head between your collarbone and jaw and falling asleep as close as possible. Talk about a heart-melter!
Bennie does well in his kennel during the day, sleeps soundly with his foster family at night, and continues to make great progress with potty training.
His perfect home? A loving, patient family ready to help him build confidence, continue training, and enjoy endless cuddles. Adopter needs to have a solid training plan.
If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, treat-loving little shadow with a heart of gold, Bennie Boo might just be your boy!

20. Simba
Adult (1 year) · Male · Boxer (short coat)

COMING SOON TO RESCUE: I was found as a stray. It's unclear how long I was on my own as I have a lot of defensive wounds at various stages of healing. Stay away from coyotes and don't turn your back! I'm hesitant at the moment around other dogs, but hopefully once I'm healed other animals won't feel so scary. I'm very sweet with my humans and love cuddling with the kids. I'm being crate trained and so far, it looks like I'm housetrained. I like to go for walks, even the kids can walk me. I'm fairly calm, but I'm sure once I heal, I'll be the bouncy , goofy pup I'm meant to be!

How to adopt from The Rescue Crew, Inc
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.

Adopting a dog in Polk County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
