1. Arthur
Adult (5 years 1 month) · Male · Poodle (Standard) / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat)

Arthur is wondering what happened to his person.
Once upon a time, Arthur was someone's emotional support dog. He knew what it meant to belong to someone, to be loved, and to have a person by his side. Now, at the rescue, he spends so much of his time crying. It's heartbreaking to watch a dog who once had a purpose and a person feel so lost.
Arthur is a gentle, calm soul who absolutely loves people and gets along well with other dogs. He isn't asking for much. Just a comfortable place to lay his head, a little companionship, and someone who won't leave him alone for most of the day.
Read more about Arthur
We think Arthur would be a wonderful companion for a senior or someone who is home more often than not. He doesn't need a busy household or endless adventures. He just needs YOU.
Can you imagine spending your golden years in a shelter, crying because the person you once loved is gone? Arthur deserves to know that he hasn't been forgotten. ❤️
Please, someone give Arthur his second chance at having a person.
Apply to foster or adopt Arthur at www.adoggie4you.org.
Please share. His person is out there.

Young (4 months 4 days) · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Tank!
Tank is a happy, loving little Chi mix looking for a family to call his own! He and his sibling were surrendered by their previous owner after an accidental litter, and now this sweet boy is ready for his next chapter.
Read more about Tank
Tank is expected to stay small. He is full of puppy love, happiness, and affection. He enjoys being loved and is ready to bring lots of joy to his future home! Since arriving at the rescue, it has taken some time for him to come out of his shell, due to being nervous and confused on how he ended up here. So it is expected for him to take some time to show his full personality after being adopted, and adjusting to his new home.
Tank is still a little unsure of where he is at. It may take some time to fully see his true personality at first, as he is quiet and shy meeting new people. Give it time, and his playful puppy personality will come out.
As with any puppy, Tank will need patience, consistency, and help learning all the basics. Potty training, leash manners, socialization, and all the other important puppy lessons will be part of his journey. He's just a baby, so he's looking for a family willing to give him the time and guidance he needs to grow into the best little dog.

4. Freddy
Adult (4 years 11 months) · Male · Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet Freddy!
Freddy is a sweet Poodle mix who is ready to find his forever family. Just like his siblings, Freddy had quite an adventure before arriving at the rescue. After his owner ended up in the hospital, he and his brothers and sisters were loose on a property before being safely caught. He came to us heavily matted and flea-infested, but he has been completely cleaned up, fully vetted, and is ready for his fresh start!
Read more about Freddy
Freddy is a very sweet and submissive boy. However, he is very shy and timid meeting new people. Once he warms up, he is jumping with tail wags and kisses. He really is a sweet boy, and just may need a little more patience until he come fully come out of his shell.
Due to his breed, Freddy will need a dedicated family committed to regular brushing and consistent professional grooming to keep him looking handsome and feeling his best. It can be very painful if his fur becomes matted and tangled.
We are unsure if he is house broken. Potty training is something that will just need to be retrained on.
His activity is pretty mellow here at the rescue, so far. But because he has also not had enough time to come out of his shell, he more than likely will be more active when comfortable in his forever home.

5. Bingo
Adult (3 years 11 months) · Male · Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet Bingo!
Bingo is a gentle, sweet, and submissive Poodle mix who is looking for a patient family to help him blossom. Just like his 4 siblings who came in together, Bingo had a rough start. After his owner ended up in the hospital, he and his siblings spent two days loose on a property before being safely rescued. He arrived matted and covered in fleas, but he has been completely cleaned up, fully vetted, and is ready for a safe place to land.
Read more about Bingo
Unlike his energetic sister, Bingo has a much quieter, more sensitive soul. He is quite shy when meeting new people and will need a little time and patience to warm up to his new surroundings. Once he knows he is safe, his true colors shine—he becomes incredibly loving, gentle, and will happily shower you with sweet kisses!
We are unsure how he is with cats, as well as basic house manners. Potty training is something that will need to be recorrected on at home.

6. London
Adult (2 years) · Female · Shih Tzu (long coat)

Meet London!
London is a fun, hyper, loving, and playful Shih Tzu who is looking for a fresh start and a family to call her own.
After her owner sadly ended up in the hospital, London and her four siblings found themselves loose on a large property. It took a dedicated two-day trapping session by our team to bring them all safely into our rescue. She arrived heavily matted and flea-infested, but she has been cleaned up, vetted, and is now ready to let her true personality shine!
Read more about London
London is a total blast and has that classic, big Shih Tzu personality. She is a bundle of joy who loves to play, though she does give affectionate play bites when she gets excited, so a home with older children who understand puppy-like play would be best. She is also quite a vocal girl and will let you know when she has something to say! London is still working on her potty training and will need a patient family willing to help her learn the ropes.
As a Shih Tzu, she will also require consistent brushing and regular professional grooming to keep her coat looking and feeling its best.
Health & Medical Status:

7. Terri
Adult (5 years) · Female · Terrier / Mixed (medium coat)

Terri found herself as a stray, lost and confused. Thankfully, she was brought to us and is now safe.
Terri is a very sweet and submissive girl. She is still a little nervous and unsure of what is happening, but she still gives all the tail wags and happy kisses. She gets along just fine with other dogs, unsure about cats. Due to her demeanor, she would most likely do fine with kids, too.
We do not know her past life, so potty training and house broken is unsure, and will need to be worked on. She's not much of a barker, but that could also be due to her shy self, and not fully coming out of her shell, yet.
Read more about Terri
If you're looking for more of a calm and mellow girl, who still likes to play and cuddle, Terri may just be the one.
Terri is spayed, 4DX tested (Sh

18. Remi
Senior (11 years 5 months) · Female · Shepherd / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Remi
After 11 years with her family, Remi was returned back to us. At her age, she deserves a quiet, loving home where she can spend her senior years feeling safe, comfortable, and loved.
Remi is a very sweet girl who will grab everyone's attention. She enjoys relaxing on her bed and would do best in a laid-back home without a lot of chaos. She is looking for someone who will love and care for her through her final years.
Read more about Remi
Remi is a senior dog, so her new family will need to understand and be prepared for the care that comes with her age. We have completed radiographs and bloodwork, including our standard senior panel that we do for all of our elderly dogs here, to ensure they are healthy to be adopted and any proper medications needed.
Remi is already spayed and microchipped and is current on her vaccines, ProHeart 12, and Bravecto. Her 4DX test did come back positive for heartworm and Ehrlichia. She is already receiving treatment for both. With the treatment, she should test negative within approximately 8–10 months. Further information on both can be found at https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/
Remi is also currently taking thyroid medication for low thyroid levels and will need continued medication and monitoring.
After spending 11 years with a family, Remi shouldn't have to wonder where she belongs. She deserves a loving home where she can relax on her bed, be spoiled, and enjoy the time she has left.

19. Taffy
Young (9 months) · Female · Terrier / Corgi / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet Taffy. Taffy can be nervous and cautious meeting new people right away.
Taffy is a sweet puppy looking for the patient, loving family she deserves. She was owner surrendered through no fault of her own, and while she may be unsure of new people at first, she has so much love waiting to come out of her shell.
Read more about Taffy
Taffy did not receive the socialization she needed while growing up, so she needs a family who understands that trust takes time. She can be cautious when meeting new people and may need some time to feel comfortable. She also seems to have had some negative experiences with people touching around her neck and the back of her head. Because of this, she may have a slight reaction if someone reaches for or touches those areas before she knows and trusts them . She will need people who are patient, respectful of her boundaries, and willing to let her go at her own pace.
Once Taffy gets to know you and realizes she can trust you, her demeanor completely changes. Her sweet and goofy personality really shines, and she becomes an affectionate, happy puppy who loves attention. She will even dance for you in return for some treats or attention! Taffy’s favorite thing in the world is a good back scratch, and once she trusts you, she will happily soak up all the attention she can get.
Older/considerate kids only. Taffy is still just a puppy, and with patience, consistency, positive experiences, and plenty of love, we know she will continue to come out of her shell and become the playful, loving puppy she was meant to be.
Taffy is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

20. Rosette
Senior (7 years 1 month) · Female · Chihuahua (short coat)

Hi, I’m Rosette, and I’m looking for my very own special person.
I’m an older girl, and life has changed a lot for me. I came to rescue with my brother after our beloved owner passed away. Losing the person I loved was very hard, so I’ll admit that I can be a little unsure when meeting new people. I need some time to trust you and feel safe. Please don’t rush me — let me get to know you at my own pace.
Read more about Rosette
But once I trust you, I’m your girl. That’s when you’ll get to see the sweet, loving girl I really am. I absolutely love attention and would happily spend my days curled up on your lap, soaking up affection. And if you want to dress me up and make me feel pretty, even better! I’m a girl who knows how to enjoy the finer things in life.
I’m also good with other dogs and have a calm, easygoing personality. I’m not a hyper girl looking for nonstop action. I’d much rather relax with my favorite person and enjoy the comfort of a peaceful home.
My future family will need to understand that earning my trust is a process, but I promise it is so worth it. Once I know you’re my person, I have so much love to give.
My bloodwork has been done and everything came back normal. I’m spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto.
I may not be the girl who runs up and greets you like we’ve known each other forever, but give me a little time, a little patience, and a lot of love, and I’ll give you something even better — a devoted little girl who knows you are her safe place.
Adoption Fee: $200 Apply today at www.adoggie4you.org. If adopted with Milky Way, adoption fee as bonded pair $350.

21. Dixie
Senior (8 years 2 months) · Female · Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat)

Hi there... I'm Dixie. I'm quite literally the best girl, according to the staff and volunteers here at the rescue.
About me: I LOVE the water—I could swim all day! I'm fully potty and house trained, and I'll even let you know when I need to go outside by crying at the door. I walk nicely on a leash and absolutely love playing fetch (at least until my age catches up with me. I know my name, and have excellent recall.
I seem to do okay with larger dogs, but smaller dogs I do not like.
Read more about Dixie
I am a quiet, gentle soul looking for a forever home to call my own. While I may be a little older, I still enjoy playing with my toys and spending time with other dogs when the mood strikes.
My journey here has been quite the adventure. During a big storm, the local fire department found me in the water and brought me to the rescue. They later realized they had actually been trying to catch me for months, believing I was a stray.
But it turns out I wasn't always on my own. I once had a loving owner, but after he passed away, I was given away because his mother was no longer able to care for me due to her own health challenges.
I'm already spayed, fully vaccinated, 4DX tested (positive for heartworm), and up to date on my ProHeart 12 and Bravecto.
I am heartworm positive right now, but I’ve already started treatment. I’ve been on antibiotics and am going through the ProHeart 12 protocol approved by the American Heartworm Society. The good news is that with this treatment, I should test negative in about 8–10 months.
My adoption fee is $250, and you can apply to adopt me at www.adoggie4you.org.
I'm currently in Texas, but I can travel to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Due to state regulations, I cannot be transported to Rhode Island or Massachusetts.

Gus is a lovable Pug mix with a heart as sweet as they come. Through no fault of his own, he found himself owner surrendered to a shelter, but he's ready to leave that chapter behind and find the forever family he deserves.
Gus can be unsure of meeting new people at first, and may be a little shy and territorial. Once he knows you, he will be your best friend for life. He will welcome you with kisses, happy jumps, lots of tail wags.
Read more about Gus
When Gus was owner surrendered, we were told that he is potty trained and does know how to use a bell to alert when needing to use the bathroom. He is also not much of a barker, gets along great with dogs, rides well in a car, and walks well on leash.
Gus is neutered, 4DX negative, microchipped, current on all vaccinations, and protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto.
His adoption fee is $400. To apply to adopt Gus, visit www.adoggie4you.org.

23. Hannah
Adult (5 years 2 months) · Female · Terrier / Mixed (medium coat)

Hannah was rescued from Atascosa Animal Control, where she was on the euthanasia list and clear that she has had a very hard life. She came in unsure of people, scared and would shake out of being nervous.
She is shy with first meeting new people, but it doesn't take long for her to warm up and once she does, she is the sweetest girl. She will greet you with tail wags and happy dances, wanting to be pet and loved on. Although it still may take some time before she fully adjust and gets comfortable in a new home.
Read more about Hannah
She doesn't bark much, seems mostly potty trained, and isn't too hyper or energetic. She is more on the mellow side, who likes to lounge around, but also can be playful with other dogs. She came in not knowing what a leash was. Our volunteers and staff have been working very hard training her on leash, and she is finally getting the hang of it. She prefers to be walked on with a harness, and does fantastic. Though, sometimes she may get spooked or overwhelmed, and roll over. She will just need more training as it takes time.
Hannah is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccines, 4DX tested, and protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto, and has even had a recent dental with cleaning and a few extractions.
She did test positive for Ehrlichia and Anaplasmosis, both tick-borne diseases. There is no way to know when she was bitten by an infected tick, but the good news is that she is healthy and finished her course of antibiotics. You can learn more about these conditions here: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=6191808.

24. Maggie
Adult (4 years 2 months) · Female · Chihuahua (short coat)

Meet Maggie!
Maggie came to us with three of her canine friends after they were seized from a neglect situation by local animal control. The condition they arrived in was heartbreaking. Maggie was suffering from a severe flea infestation, hair loss, overgrown nails, and poor nutrition. While she has come a long way since then, she is still carrying a significant amount of excess weight and is currently at an unhealthy obese weight which will need to be worked on.
Maggie is currently in a foster home, where her foster mom has given all details on Maggie's perfect ideal home.
Read more about Maggie
Maggie isn’t a cuddly lap dog right now, and she may never want to be one. She prefers affection on her own terms, and when something frightens her, her instinct is to hide rather than confront it. And that’s okay. Maggie deserves a home where she can be exactly who she is.
She does wonderfully with other dogs and is also good with cats. She would be happiest in an adult-only home without children, preferably with someone who appreciates a quiet, predictable environment. Loud noises and lots of change can be difficult for her, so a calm home where she can settle in at her own pace would be ideal.
Maggie is potty-pad trained and perfectly content with life’s quieter pleasures. Give her her little pink couch and a warm sunbeam for an afternoon nap, and you’ll have one very happy little Chihuahua.
Maggie doesn’t need someone to change her. She needs someone willing to show her, patiently and consistently, that she is finally safe. She may take time to trust, but for the right person, earning that trust will be incredibly rewarding.
Maggie is spayed, 4DX negative, vaccinated, microchipped, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. Her adoption fee is $350. To apply to adopt Maggie, visit www.adoggie4you.org.
