We believe he is around 1 year old.Initially, storm has took a little time to warm up, but with each passing day, he became more and more curious and courageous. Now he can't get enough attention. He wants nothing more than to be right by your side. He is highly food motivated and will warm up to you in no time if you have his favorite treat on hand! He goes on our weekly pack walk does great. He has met other dogs and did very well with them.

3. Gino

Adult · Male · Rottweiler · 13 mi from Apache Junction

Meet Gino!Gino is a big, goofy boy weighing in at 112 pounds! He wants nothing more than to nuzzle his face into your lap to receive all the pets and love you can give. His temperament is sweet and docile, and he is a smart boy with just a fun dash of classic Rottie stubbornness. We rescued Gino off the county shelter's euthanasia list on 10/20/26. He was placed on the list because when he became overstimulated from excitement or petting, he would mount his handler. Knowing what a sweet soul he is, we were so excited when a proffessional trainer offered to foster and train him! She is working with Gino to curb this behavior and help him become the absolute best version of himself.

When we picked him up, he had a case of kennel cough, which is now almost fully resolved, as well as some nosebleeds. We have already taken him to our vet and are actively working toward getting him back into tip-top shape! 4. Zeke

Young · Male · Rottweiler · 13 mi from Apache Junction

Meet Zeke! Our Newest Rotten Rottie!Zeke is an absolutely stunning young male Rottweiler. He was found as a stray and brought to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, where he ultimately ended up on the euthanasia list. While at the shelter, he was friendly with staff and caused no issues. Even the veterinary team was able to handle him easily. If you’ve ever owned a Rottweiler, you know the vet can be a challenging environment for them. The reason he was placed on the euthanasia list was due to dog reactivity reported in the shelter lobby, as well as his finder mentioning that he reacted to other people and dogs while on leash.

Read more about Zeke

This type of behavior is common to the breed and in high-stress shelter environments. With consistency and proper training, it can be managed or overcome. When I met Zeke, I didn't see any reactivity at all. I took him out of his kennel, walked him into a play yard, and navigated past other dogs. He even sat calmly outside his kennel while we readjusted his leash with other dogs barking just a few feet away, and he didn't react. He stayed focused on me and sat patiently. However, just because I didn't witness reactivity during our initial meeting doesn't mean it never occurs. Once we get to know Zeke better and observe him across different settings, we’ll have a clearer picture of what support and environment he needs to succeed.Regardless of why he was on the euthanasia list, after meeting Zeke and seeing what a wonderful dog he is, we knew we had to save him. We don't know his exact age, but he appears to be between 1 and 2 years old. So far what we have seen from Zeke is a smart, even-tempered, affectionate, and gentle boy.As we spend more time learning his personality, likes, and dislikes, we will update his profile. At this time, we do not know how he does with other dogs, small animals, or children, but we will try to test him in as many different environments as is safe and appropriate. In addition, Zeke will be heading to training with Amanda at Paw Creek Training next week! Amanda will determine how he does with other dogs, correct any behavioral concerns she finds, and teach him all his basic obedience. We can't wait to watch Zeke become the best version of himself! We truly believe Zeke is going to make an amazing companion, and we look forward to helping him build the life he has always deserved! If you are interested in meeting Zeke or any of our adoptable dogs, please visit our website at http://www.rottenrottie.com and complete our adoption questionnaire.Adoption Process:If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, "not-so-rotten" Rotties, you will be asked to fill out our adoption application which allows us to get to know you better. 6. Alexander

Adult · Male · Rottweiler · 13 mi from Apache Junction

Purebred male 5 year old rottweiler. Meet Alexander. He is a purebred handsome boy who is about 5 years old. Like most Rottweilers, he does not trust all humans until they prove they are worthy. It's best to go slow and play hard to get with him. It's best that there are no children in his home. Once he trusts you, he is incredibly sweet, loves attention and wants nothing other then to hang out with his peeps. His original owner passed away and his owners wife was struggling to take care of him. He didn't get along with the other dog that lived in his home, and they sometimes had bad fights.

Read more about Alexander

He would do well as an only dog. We have rehomed Alex once and he was returned. The new owner brought in a new girl friend who got too comfortable with Alex too fast. He did end up biting her, and Alex was returned. He went and lived with our trainer for over a month. She tested him, and saw zero aggression from him. It's important to note that before he bit the girlfriend Alex lived with his new owner for 6 months and he never saw any aggression from him. Alex remained with him for 6 weeks after the bite, and during that time saw no aggression from him. Since we were not there when the bite happened and the previous owner did not witness it, we have very little information as to what could have triggered it. We believe that that girlfriend just went too fast with him and it scared him. He has been professionally trained and does very well when it comes to following commands. He is happy to show off his skills. If you are interested in adopting Alexander, please go to www.rottenrottie.com and fill out an adoption application. Our Adoption Process... 7. Mac

Young · Male · Rottweiler / Doberman Pinscher / Mixed · 13 mi from Apache Junction

MEET MAC — A EXTRA LARGE ROTTIE/DOBERMAN/MASTIFF MIXOn Monday, August 23, 2026, we officially welcomed a gigantic Rottweiler/Doberman mix named Mac into the rescue.Mac’s story actually starts with a neighbor in Kingman. The neighbor remembers when Mac first moved in next door. He was just a little puppy then, visible through the chain-link fence that separated their yards. For more than two years, he watched Mac live outside — through the coldest nights and the hottest Arizona days. Then one day, Mac’s family moved away. And they left Mac behind. They never came back. His neighbor couldn’t just watch him go hungry, so he started feeding Mac and giving him water over the fence.

Read more about Mac

For the next couple of months, that’s how Mac survived. Then one day, Animal Control arrived to remove him.Imagine being Mac. Strange people suddenly enter the only yard you’ve known, chasing you with a snare. When they finally got the cold steel loop around his neck and began restraining him, Mac panicked and fought desperately to get away. That reaction landed him on the euthanasia list. But his neighbor knew the dog on that list wasn’t the Mac he knew.He went to the shelter and asked if he could take Mac himself. At first, they told him no — Mac was considered too dangerous. So he showed them pictures of this supposedly “dangerous” dog kissing him through the fence. They changed their minds. He brought Mac home with the intention of finding him a good home, but every time someone showed interest, something didn’t feel right. He worried that some people wanted this enormous, intimidating-looking dog for all the wrong reasons. So he kept saying no.Unfortunately, his own dog didn’t like Mac and would attack him — and amazingly, Mac wouldn’t even fight back. After a couple of months, he called Rotten Rottie Rescue for help.We didn’t have room at the Ranch, so I called Amanda at Paw Creek Dog Training and asked if she could take him. She could — but we had to wait a couple of weeks for a spot to open.Monday was finally Mac’s day. His neighbor drove him all the way down from Kingman on Sunday, and Paul Davis drove him to Amanda Monday morning. And today, Amanda sent me our first official Mac PupDate:“Mac the Knife is doing really, really well! I worked him for the first time today — prong and e-collar right off the bat because he is TOO DAMN BIG. He was either trained before, or he is one of the easiest dogs to train, which is pretty common with Dobies.I was very careful the first couple of days mainly because of his size. If he was going to do anything, there wasn’t a whole lot I was going to be able to do. Thank God he is super, super sweet! Now, he WILL eat a kitty. And he is a giant, so he is going to need someone who wants to build a relationship with him. I would hate for anyone to get hurt in any way by him.”So there you have it.The enormous, “dangerous” dog who almost lost his life because he panicked when strangers tried to snare him turns out to be a super sweet, ridiculously trainable giant. Mac still has some work ahead of him, and his future home is going to need to understand that a dog this large and powerful requires structure, leadership and a real relationship with his person. One of the benefits of having Amanda train our dogs is that she will support the dog's future family with free training lessons so that you can continue to make Mac the best version of himself. You can take Mac to her place for as many free lessons as you would like, and she is always available by text or a phone call for any advice that you need. And definitely NO CATS. But Mac is alive today because one neighbor cared enough to feed a forgotten dog, fought for him when the shelter thought he was dangerous, protected him from people he didn’t trust, drove him hundreds of miles to us, and refused to give up until Mac was safe.Sometimes it really does take just one person to change a dog’s entire life.Welcome to Rotten Rottie Rescue, Mac. Your old family may have driven away and

9. Flaco

Adult (2 years) · Male · Belgian Shepherd Malinois (medium coat) · 15 mi from Apache Junction

Hi, I’m Flaco, and I’m looking for my forever home... again.

My name is Flaco, and I’m a handsome, approximately 2-year-old Belgian Malinois mix with a heart that’s every bit as big as my ears. Life hasn’t always gone exactly as planned for me, but I’m hoping my next chapter will be the one that lasts forever.

Read more about Flaco

Just over a year ago, my brother and I were found wandering the streets of Yuma as strays. Nobody came looking for us, and we weren’t sure what the future would hold. Thankfully, we were rescued by the wonderful people at Central Arizona Animal Rescue. They gave us safety, food, love, and a chance to find families of our own. Before long, both my brother and I were adopted, and it seemed like our happy ending had arrived.

Recently, though, I found myself back at the rescue.

My family welcomed a new baby, and as their lives became busier, they decided they no longer had enough time for me. While it was hard to lose my home, everyone at the rescue has reminded me that this isn't the end of my story. It’s simply a detour on the road to finding the family that’s truly meant for me.

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely love people. Whether we're going for a walk, hanging out in the yard, watching television, or just relaxing together, I’m happiest when I’m near my humans. I’m not looking for anything extravagant. Honestly, I just want to be part of your life.

I also enjoy the company of other dogs. I get along well with little dogs and dogs my own size, and I love having canine friends to spend time with. If your home already has a dog looking for a buddy, there’s a good chance we could become best friends. As for cats, my rescue friends just haven’t had the opportunity to test me with them yet, so that remains a mystery.

I’m told I’m house-trained, which means I understand that outside is the place to take care of business. I also know some commands and have already learned some good manners. Like many young dogs, I would love continued training and guidance. The good news is that I’m smart and eager to learn.

Speaking of smart, let’s talk a little about my breed. Belgian Malinois are known for their intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, and strong bonds with their people. We are often chosen for police work, search-and-rescue, service work, and other demanding jobs because we love having a purpose and enjoy learning new things. While I certainly have that classic Malinois intelligence, I’m also an incredibly sweet and social guy who simply enjoys being around people and canine companions. I would thrive with an active family that can include me in daily adventures, give me exercise, and continue helping me be the very best dog I can be.

What I’m really searching for is someone who won’t see me as a temporary part of their life. I want a family that understands dogs are forever. A family that will celebrate the good times, help me through the challenges, and let me spend every day knowing I belong.

I’ve already been through being lost once. I’ve already experienced coming back to rescue through no fault of my own. Now I’m ready for the happy ending I’ve been dreaming about.

Could that happy ending be with you?

If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a smart and affectionate best friend, and a dog who is ready to shower you with love and gratitude, I’d love to meet you.

To schedule an appointment to meet me, please email Central Arizona Animal Rescue at mike@caaronline.org.

I’ll be waiting with a wagging tail, hopeful eyes, and my heart wide open for the family that finally says, “Flaco, you’re home.” ❤️

PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.

DOLLY & MIRA — TWO LITTLE HEARTS WAITING TO FEEL SAFE

Some dogs know what it feels like to have a home, but they’ve never truly experienced what it means to be loved. Dolly and Mira are two of those little souls.

These beautiful sisters were part of a group of three puppies, but one of their sisters was given away. Dolly and Mira had an owner from the time they were puppies, yet they didn't receive the attention, time, socialization, and training they needed to grow into confident, secure dogs.

Read more about Mira

Born in September 2025, these little girls are still so young. They should be experiencing the world with confidence, learning new things, playing, and feeling safe in the arms of the people who love them. Instead, they're now learning that the world doesn't have to be so scary.

Dolly and Mira are in a new foster home, and right now, they're frightened and unsure of their surroundings. But slowly, little by little, they're beginning to relax. They're starting to realize that life can be different — that gentle hands, kind voices, patience, and love are possible. ❤️

They're learning the basics, including potty training and adjusting to crate training. They still have a lot to learn, and they'll need a family who understands that progress may take time. There may be setbacks, nervous moments, and days when they need extra reassurance.

But please don't overlook them because they're scared.

These girls aren't broken. They aren't bad dogs. They're simply learning things that should have been taught to them from the beginning. They need someone willing to see their potential rather than their fears.

16. Dusty

Young (8 months) · Chihuahua / Pug / Mixed (short coat) · 15 mi from Apache Junction

Hi, My Name Is Dusty, and I'm Looking for My Forever Family

Hello there! My name is Dusty, and I'm a little Chihuahua mix with a big heart and an even bigger hope that my forever family is reading this right now.

Read more about Dusty

My story didn't start out the way every puppy deserves. I came to Central Arizona Animal Rescue along with my five sisters after being surrendered from a difficult situation. We weren't the only puppies there. We were told another litter of six puppies had already been given away at a gas station without vaccinations, microchips, spay or neuter surgeries, or any of the things that help keep dogs healthy and safe. There are reportedly even more older dogs still living in the home who haven't been fixed either. The humans at the rescue say this is what happens when animals don't receive proper medical care and responsible ownership. They were also told the owner has struggled with drug abuse, which made it even harder for all the dogs in the home to get the care they needed.

But enough about my past. I'd rather tell you about who I am today.

I'm a happy little guy who loves people, especially kids! I was raised around children and think they're pretty wonderful. Whether it's playing in the yard, snuggling on the couch, or following them around to see what adventure comes next, I'm always happy to be part of the fun.

I also have a special soft spot for adult women. They make me feel safe and comfortable. Adult men? Well, I'm still working on that. I don't dislike them at all, but sometimes I can be a little suspicious when I first meet one. Can you blame me? My early life didn't always show me that every human could be trusted. The good news is that I'm learning every day, and with patience, kindness, and a few treats, I warm up nicely.

The wonderful people at Central Arizona Animal Rescue have worked hard to give me a fresh start. I've been neutered, so I won't be contributing to the cycle of unwanted litters. I've also been vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. For the first time in my life, I'm getting the care every dog deserves.

My sisters are safe too. The rescue is working to get all five of them spayed as soon as time becomes available with their very busy veterinarian. The rescue is doing everything it can, but resources and space are limited.

That's why finding homes for dogs like me is so important.

When you adopt me, you're not just changing my life. You're helping create room for the rescue to save more dogs from situations like the one I came from. Every kennel that opens up gives another dog a chance at safety, medical care, and a better future. The rescue hopes to help as many animals as possible before the situation grows even larger and even more dogs are left without proper care.

And here's something important: even if a Chihuahua mix like me isn't exactly what you're looking for, adopting any dog from Central Arizona Animal Rescue helps. Every adoption opens a space and allows the rescue to continue helping animals in need.

So, what do you think? Could you be the family I've been dreaming about? I promise to bring love, loyalty, smiles, and plenty of Chihuahua-sized personality into your home.

If you'd like to meet me, Dusty, or any of the other wonderful dogs at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, please email mike@caaronline.org to schedule an appointment.

I'm ready for my second chance.

Maybe it's with you.

Love, Dusty

17. Porkchop

Young (7 months) · Male · Mastiff / Mixed (medium coat) · 15 mi from Apache Junction

“Hi, I’m Porkchop… and I’m Ready for My Real Forever Family.”

From the heart of Porkchop himself

Hi there. My name is Porkchop, and yes—I know it’s a funny name. Everyone laughs when they hear it, and honestly, I kind of like that. I’m an 8‑month‑old mastiff mix, which means I’m a big boy with an even bigger heart. I didn’t have the easiest start in life, but I’m hoping the next part of my story is the one where I finally find the family who sees me as perfect just the way I am.

Read more about Porkchop

I was rescued when I was about four months old, standing on the side of the road with my brother. Someone was giving away puppies like we were old furniture, and one of the volunteers from Central Arizona Animal Rescue saw us and knew we needed help. I had never been to a vet, never had any puppy shots, never had anyone making sure I was safe. But that changed fast. They scooped us up, brought us in, and gave us everything we needed—vaccinations, a microchip, and eventually I was neutered. For the first time, I felt like someone cared about me.

After a little while, I got adopted. I thought that was it—I thought I had found my forever home. But after a couple of months, they brought me back. They said I was “too big.” I didn’t understand. I didn’t do anything wrong. I just grew, the way puppies do. I tried to be good, but nobody taught me how. They didn’t work with me on leash manners, so yes… I pull when I walk. And sometimes I get excited and jump up because I want attention so badly. I’m not trying to be naughty—I just didn’t have anyone showing me the rules.

So here I am again, waiting. Hoping. I’m still the same sweet boy I was the day I left, just a little older and a lot more ready to learn. I need someone who will set boundaries, teach me gently, and help me understand how to be a polite, well‑mannered dog. I’m smart, I’m eager, and I really do want to make you proud. I just need a person who won’t give up on me.

My previous owners said I am house trained, which is a pretty great start. And I’m good with other dogs, too. I like having friends. I like being part of a group. I like feeling like I belong. I’m a big, strong puppy, but inside I’m just a soft, goofy boy who wants to be loved. I adore people. I lean in for pets, I wag my whole body, and I melt when someone scratches behind my ears. I’m happiest when I’m close to someone who cares.

If you’re looking for a dog who will grow into a loyal, loving companion… someone who will follow you around, keep you company, and make you laugh with his silly mastiff expressions… I might be your guy. I’m still learning, but I promise I’m worth the effort. I’ll give you everything I have—my trust, my affection, my big goofy smile—if you give me a chance.

If you’d like to meet me, the rescue says you can email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be waiting, hoping the next person who comes to see me is the one who finally says, “Porkchop, you’re home.”

Love, Porkchop

18. Crews

Adult (1 year 7 months) · Male · German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat) · 15 mi from Apache Junction

“Hi, I’m Crews… and I’ve been waiting for my person.”

From the heart of Crews himself

Hi there. My name is Crews, and if you’ve got a minute, I’d really like to tell you my story. I’m a German Shepherd mix, mostly shepherd through and through—smart, loyal, eager, and full of heart. I’m about a year and a half old, still young enough to be playful and goofy, but old enough to know that what I want most in the world is a person of my own.

Read more about Crews

Back in July, I was picked up as a stray. I didn’t know where I was supposed to go or who I belonged to. I kept hoping someone would come for me, someone who recognized me and called my name. But the days passed, then the weeks, and nobody ever showed up. I stayed at the pound all the way until September, watching other dogs leave with their families while I waited and wondered if anyone even remembered me.

Then something changed. One of the staff members there saw something in me—maybe my big shepherd eyes, maybe the way I pressed myself against the kennel door hoping for attention—and they reached out to Central Arizona Animal Rescue. They said I deserved a chance. And now I’m here, safe, cared for, and finally able to hope again.

I share my kennel with a female dog, and we get along just fine. I’m polite, friendly, and I don’t try to be the boss. But if I’m being honest… I’d rather be with people. I love people. I love attention. I love being close enough to lean into you and feel your hand on my head. Sometimes I get so excited that I forget my manners and try to jump up to get closer. I’m not trying to be rude—I just want to be loved. I’m learning, though. The humans here remind me that jumping isn’t polite unless I’m invited, and I’m getting better every day. I’m a shepherd, after all. We’re smart. We catch on quickly.

I’ve been neutered, I’m current on all my vaccinations, and I’ve been microchipped, so I’ll never be lost again. That part means a lot to me. After everything I’ve been through, knowing I’ll always be able to find my way home is a big comfort.

What I want now is simple: a family who sees me for who I am. I’m energetic, affectionate, and full of potential. I want someone who will help me finish learning my manners, someone who enjoys a dog who wants to be right by their side. I’d love walks, training sessions, car rides, yard time, or just hanging out while you do your thing. I don’t need perfection—I just need you.

If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you, who will try his hardest, who will grow into an incredible companion with just a little guidance, I think we might be a perfect match. I’ve waited a long time for someone to choose me. Maybe you’re the one I’ve been waiting for.

If you’d like to meet me, the rescue says you can email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be here, tail wagging, hoping today is the day my forever person finally walks through the door.

Love, Crews

19. Aurora

Adult (4 years 11 months) · Female · American Staffordshire Terrier / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 15 mi from Apache Junction

Meet Aurora,

Aurora is a 5-year-old petite, lowrider pocket pittie with a gentle personality and a huge heart. After surviving a life-threatening medical emergency, this special girl is ready for the next chapter of her life and a family to call her own.

Aurora has been living in a temporary foster home, where we have had the chance to see what an absolute sweetheart she is. She is potty trained, uses a dog door, is non-destructive in the home and is incredibly mellow. She is also very quiet — her foster hasn't even heard her bark!

Read more about Aurora

Aurora loves being close to her people. She is affectionate, gives the sweetest hugs and is perfectly happy playing with her toys or curling up beside you for a relaxing evening. She takes treats gently and already knows "sit."

She doesn't need a home filled with constant activity. Aurora would be a wonderful companion for someone looking for an easygoing dog who enjoys affection, companionship and simply being together.

Aurora needs to be the only pet in her home. She would love nothing more than to have her person's love and attention all to herself.

Aurora's current foster home was only intended to be temporary, so finding her a committed long-term foster or foster-to-adopt home is very important.

While Aurora is in foster care, the rescue covers all of her necessary expenses and provides the supplies and support she needs. Her foster family provides the safe, loving home where she can continue to thrive while waiting for her forever family.

This sweet girl has already overcome so much. Now she deserves the stability, love and security of a home where she can finally settle in and know she belongs.

Could you be Aurora's second chance?

20. Taylon

Adult (2 years) · Male · Belgian Shepherd Malinois (medium coat) · 15 mi from Apache Junction

Meet Taylon: A Quiet Survivor Searching for a Patient Forever Home

Hello, my name is Taylon, and I'm a Belgian Malinois with a story that isn't easy to tell. I'm looking for a special person who understands that some dogs need a little extra time, a little extra patience, and a lot of understanding before they can fully trust again.

Like my brother Max, my life changed forever when our owner was unexpectedly deported. He wasn't able to tell anyone that my brother, our two sisters, and I were still living inside his trailer. We were left alone for more than a week without food or water, waiting for someone to come.

Read more about Taylon

Eventually, our owner was able to make a call and let someone know about us. When Animal Control finally arrived, it was too late for our two sisters. They didn't survive. Max and I were the only ones who made it out alive.

The experience left scars that aren't always easy to see.

When we were rescued and taken to safety, I was in terrible condition. I had spent so long fighting to survive that trusting people wasn't something that came naturally anymore. The world had shown me some hard lessons, and I became cautious about everyone around me.

Today, I'm healthy and safe, but I'm still learning that humans can be trusted.

I'm a bigger boy than my brother Max, and while he's become a fan of attention and belly rubs, I'm a little more reserved. I don't immediately seek out affection, and I'm not the kind of dog who wants constant petting from everyone I meet. In fact, I'm still figuring out how to be comfortable with physical affection at all. That's why I need someone who will allow me to move at my own pace and won't expect me to become a cuddly best friend overnight.

The people caring for me have seen how far I've come. They've watched me learn to relax, accept treats, enjoy routines, and slowly open up to the humans who have earned my trust. Every day I take another small step forward.

One thing I do know is that I love feeling safe.

Like Max, I haven't been tested with small dogs or cats, so we can't say for certain how I would react to them. Any introductions would need to be handled carefully and responsibly.

What I really need is someone who understands dogs like me. Someone who sees beyond my hesitation and understands that my caution isn't stubbornness or aggression. It's simply the result of surviving circumstances no dog should ever have to endure.

I may never be the dog that rushes up to strangers demanding attention. I may never be the life of the party. But for the person willing to invest the time and patience, I have something much more meaningful to offer: genuine trust that has been earned, not given away freely.

The day I choose you as my person will be a day you'll never forget.

I'm current on all of my vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Physically, I'm ready for my forever home. Emotionally, I'm ready for someone who will continue helping me build confidence and discover what it truly means to be loved.

If you believe that every dog deserves a second chance, and if you have the patience to let a survivor blossom in his own time, I would love the opportunity to meet you.

Some dogs are easy from day one.

Dogs like me are worth the journey.

To schedule an appointment to meet Taylon, please email:
mike@caaronline.org

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I've survived heartbreak, loss, and uncertainty. Now I'm hoping to find the one thing I've never truly had:

A forever home.

Love,
Taylon

How to adopt from Rotten Rottie Rescue

Our Adoption Process... If you are interested in adopting one of our fun loving not so rotten rotties, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that will allows us to get to know you better and to make sure the dog you are looking at is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our questionnaire by going to our website, www.rottenrottie.com click on the forms tab, and fill out the questionnaire and submit it online. After we review your answers, if we feel that the dog that you are interested in, is not a good fit for you and your family, we may recommend a different rottweiler companion. After we determine which Rottweiler(s) is the best for you, we will set up a time so that you can meet him or her at their house, where they will feel most comfortable and act as they normally do. An adoption contract will be signed to finalize the adoption and we do ask for a rehoming fee of $400 for most adults, $250 for most of our seniors 6 years and above for any rottweiler mix of any age (except puppies) . Our fees for puppies fluctuate depending on how much we had to invest into them or their litter, and weather they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary so that our organization may continue to rehome rottweilers. ALL of our dogs are sterilized, fully vaccinated and microchipped, heartworm tested negative and come with a collar and a leash. We have also addressed any injury or illness that they had when they came to us, or received in foster care. These

Everyone wishing to adopt through our rescue must complete an application, downloadable from our web site. The application requests information about your situation, what sort of dog you wish to adopt, including age and behavior. We welcome applications from potential adopters who are able to love a dog with special physical or behavioral needs. No one is asked to adopt a dog with issues they cannot handle. While we usually experience a steady flow of incoming Boston Terriers needing to be re-homed, we also have a steady flow of people and families seeking to adopt a Boston Terrier through AZBTR. We file applications, more or less, in order of receipt. As we anticipate new dogs coming into our rescue, we attempt to fulfill those applications. This is not always the case, however. Our goal is to match our dogs to the best suited homes based on the individual dog's needs. If acquiring a dog is a time sensitive issue for you or your family, rescue may not be for you. If you are willing to wait for the right rescue to come to you, you are an ideal candidate for AZBTR. It could be days, weeks, or months before we find a Boston Terrier that we feel is a good match for you. As our success rate proves, these precious dogs are well worth the wait. We carefully screen potential adoptive families, including interviewing adopters, checking references, and visiting homes. We prefer that adoptive homes have fenced yards because we do not place dogs in situations where they will b

Adopting a dog in Apache Junction

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
