MEET DUDLEY #2!!
Read more about Dudley
Dudley is a sweet, affectionate, and very playful boy with a lot of personality and energy. He loves attention, playing with his toys, being outside, going for walks, and especially playing with other dogs. He really loves having someone to play with. He can be pretty enthusiastic during playtime, so another playful dog who can match his energy would be a great match. He is good with adults and elementary aged children on a leash, but he has not been testing with children in a home. He is housetrained, uses a doggy door, and knows basic commands. He does fairly well on a leash, but he still pulls at times, especially when he's excited about going for a walk. He is a typical young Husky who is curious, energetic, and always looking for something to do.
Dudley has some separation anxiety, particularly when he is left alone crated. This is improving, and he has a prescription for trazodone to help when he needs to be crated for extended periods of time. He also has enamel hypoplasia which affects the enamel on his teeth. He received a dental treatment, including bonding, in August 2026. Dudley's current owner is unable to give him the exercise and attention he needs and is heartbroken to have to find him a new home. Dudley would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship. A bonus would be a similarly energetic pet sibling too. Meet Dudley today!

2. Buck
Puppy (6 months) · Male · German Shepherd Dog / Spaniel / Mixed (medium coat) · 85 mi from Catalina Foothills

MEET BUCK!!!
Read more about Buck
Buck is a handsome puppy that is always full of energy as most puppies are. He is always excited to see you or meet new dogs. He loves to go on walks and runs which is a great way to tire him out. If you looked up the word "love" in the dictionary. you would see a picture of Buck. Buck is very much a puppy still and needs training. However, with some patience and consistent training, he will be the best boy ever. He is good on a leash so far and doing well with crate training. Sometimes he will bark loudly when he doesn't want to be in the crate, but that only lasts a few minutes before he settles in. Buck was found as a stray in poor condition. He deserves a loving and safe home with people who want to give him the best life he deserves. Meet Buck today!

3. Flaco
Adult (2 years) · Male · Belgian Shepherd Malinois (medium coat) · 77 mi from Catalina Foothills

Hi, I’m Flaco, and I’m looking for my forever home... again.
My name is Flaco, and I’m a handsome, approximately 2-year-old Belgian Malinois mix with a heart that’s every bit as big as my ears. Life hasn’t always gone exactly as planned for me, but I’m hoping my next chapter will be the one that lasts forever.
Read more about Flaco
Just over a year ago, my brother and I were found wandering the streets of Yuma as strays. Nobody came looking for us, and we weren’t sure what the future would hold. Thankfully, we were rescued by the wonderful people at Central Arizona Animal Rescue. They gave us safety, food, love, and a chance to find families of our own. Before long, both my brother and I were adopted, and it seemed like our happy ending had arrived.
Recently, though, I found myself back at the rescue.
My family welcomed a new baby, and as their lives became busier, they decided they no longer had enough time for me. While it was hard to lose my home, everyone at the rescue has reminded me that this isn't the end of my story. It’s simply a detour on the road to finding the family that’s truly meant for me.
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely love people. Whether we're going for a walk, hanging out in the yard, watching television, or just relaxing together, I’m happiest when I’m near my humans. I’m not looking for anything extravagant. Honestly, I just want to be part of your life.
I also enjoy the company of other dogs. I get along well with little dogs and dogs my own size, and I love having canine friends to spend time with. If your home already has a dog looking for a buddy, there’s a good chance we could become best friends. As for cats, my rescue friends just haven’t had the opportunity to test me with them yet, so that remains a mystery.
I’m told I’m house-trained, which means I understand that outside is the place to take care of business. I also know some commands and have already learned some good manners. Like many young dogs, I would love continued training and guidance. The good news is that I’m smart and eager to learn.
Speaking of smart, let’s talk a little about my breed. Belgian Malinois are known for their intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, and strong bonds with their people. We are often chosen for police work, search-and-rescue, service work, and other demanding jobs because we love having a purpose and enjoy learning new things. While I certainly have that classic Malinois intelligence, I’m also an incredibly sweet and social guy who simply enjoys being around people and canine companions. I would thrive with an active family that can include me in daily adventures, give me exercise, and continue helping me be the very best dog I can be.
What I’m really searching for is someone who won’t see me as a temporary part of their life. I want a family that understands dogs are forever. A family that will celebrate the good times, help me through the challenges, and let me spend every day knowing I belong.
I’ve already been through being lost once. I’ve already experienced coming back to rescue through no fault of my own. Now I’m ready for the happy ending I’ve been dreaming about.
Could that happy ending be with you?
If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a smart and affectionate best friend, and a dog who is ready to shower you with love and gratitude, I’d love to meet you.
To schedule an appointment to meet me, please email Central Arizona Animal Rescue at mike@caaronline.org.
I’ll be waiting with a wagging tail, hopeful eyes, and my heart wide open for the family that finally says, “Flaco, you’re home.” ❤️
PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.

4. Charm
Adult (2 years) · Female · Chinese Shar-Pei · 6 mi from Catalina Foothills

How does a Shar Pei rescue celebrate Halloween? Forget the costumes, pumpkin photos and all the cute stuff. We head straight to the local shelter and rescue a Shar Pei who needs us. Because apparently we don't know how to have a normal Halloween.
Meet Charm!
Charm lived with her family, which included five human kids and a Pittie sibling. Like so many families right now, hers fell on hard times, and they made the difficult decision to surrender their pups to the shelter in Phoenix, AZ.
Read more about Charm
Her family had wonderful things to say about this girl. She was great with their kids and got along with both big and little dogs. Unfortunately, the shelter doesn't always get to see the wonderful family dog hiding behind the kennel door.
But the Shar Pei rescue brigade was on the case!
With a few tasty treats, Charm decided we weren't so bad after all. She came right up, hopped aboard and was off to her foster home. Just like that, her Halloween took a much better turn. ❤️
Charm will need a little medical TLC before adoption, including her spay, entropion surgery and bloodwork.
She's now safe and settling into her foster home in Phoenix, AZ. Stay tuned as we get to know this sweet girl!
Happy Halloween from Pei People. Some people hand out candy. We apparently collect Shar Peis.

5. Clair Bear
3 Years · Female · Chinese Shar-Pei · 6 mi from Catalina Foothills

Meet Clair Bear! Your Personal Neighborhood Watch Committee!
Clair Bear is a 3-year-old Shar-Pei with two hobbies: being the center of attention and minding EVERYBODY’S business. Seriously, this girl has never met a situation she didn’t need to supervise. Cooking dinner? She’s there. Folding laundry? She’s there. Having a private conversation? She’s definitely there. Personal space is apparently just a suggestion.
Read more about Clair Bear
Clair is a certified clown with a big personality and a nose for neighborhood gossip. She’s the type to peek through the blinds, report suspicious squirrel activity, and make sure absolutely nothing happens in her house without her approval.
She’s great with other dogs and is dog-door trained, so she’s got the whole indoor/outdoor living thing figured out. Kennels, however, are a hard NO. In fact, she’s taken matters into her own paws and mastered opening the kennel door. Why be confined when you can simply outsmart the humans? Clair prefers to lounge around the house loose, where she can properly oversee her kingdom.
She’s also VERY food motivated, which is fantastic because this little comedian could use some polishing on her manners. The good news? Treats are apparently an acceptable form of currency, and Clair is very open to negotiations.
Clair Bear is looking for:
A home that appreciates a dog with a BIG personality.
Canine friends are a bonus!
Humans who don’t mind having a furry supervisor following them everywhere.
Someone willing to work on her training (preferably with a well-stocked treat jar).
A home that understands the kennel is for other dogs. Clair has already filed her formal objection.
If you’ve always wanted a dog who is equal parts class clown, neighborhood gossip, and full-time hall monitor, Clair Bear is ready to clock in!

7. Charolette
Young · Female · Rottweiler · 87 mi from Catalina Foothills

Meet Charolette! We just rescued this pretty little girl from the euthanasia list at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. She was very scared in the shelter and needed out immediately. Thankfully a foster stepped up and she is sleeping soundly tonight. We don't know a lot of Charolette, but as she decompresses from her shelter stay and we learn more, we will update her profile. 10. Gino
Adult · Male · Rottweiler · 87 mi from Catalina Foothills

Meet Gino!Gino is a big, goofy boy weighing in at 112 pounds! He wants nothing more than to nuzzle his face into your lap to receive all the pets and love you can give. His temperament is sweet and docile, and he is a smart boy with just a fun dash of classic Rottie stubbornness. We rescued Gino off the county shelter's euthanasia list on 10/20/26. He was placed on the list because when he became overstimulated from excitement or petting, he would mount his handler. Knowing what a sweet soul he is, we were so excited when a proffessional trainer offered to foster and train him! She is working with Gino to curb this behavior and help him become the absolute best version of himself.

11. Squishy
Adult (6 years) · Female · Chinese Shar-Pei · 6 mi from Catalina Foothills

MEET SQUISHY!
Okay, okay… save the eye rolls. We know Squishy is right up there with Wrinkles on the Shar Pei name list. But when you're this adorable, you can pretty much get away with anything, including a name that sounds like a stress ball.
Squishy came to us as a stray in Phoenix, AZ, and apparently had some STRONG opinions about her post-entropion treatment at the shelter. Let's just say when she jumped into our car, we could practically hear her telling the shelter to ✌️… and if dogs could actually give the middle finger out the back window, we're pretty sure she did.
Read more about Squishy
But wait, there's MORE! The shelter was also convinced Squishy was having an ALLERGIC REACTION because her face looked swollen.
Seriously, guys… have we never seen a Shar Pei before?! That's not necessarily a medical emergency; sometimes it's just a face with more wrinkles than a shirt left in the dryer for three days. Those folds are factory-installed features, not a software glitch!
Now, of course, any genuine medical concern deserves attention, but we're pretty sure Squishy's face didn't come as a surprise to her parents. She's a Shar Pei, not a pufferfish!
Here's the funny part: we haven't seen a single bit of the behavior they described. So either she genuinely disliked everyone at the shelter, or they simply weren't fluent in Shar Pei. There's a difference, people!
They listed her as six years old, and if that's true, we need her skincare routine, her supplement list, and the name of her dermatologist. Because this girl is aging better than most of us with a 12-step skincare regimen. Seriously, what's her secret?!
Squishy is great with other dogs, but her true happy place is wherever the PEOPLE are. And when we say people, we mean ALL people. Even the person she met five minutes ago? Yep, best friends. She's not here to play hard to get. She has love to give, and she's not wasting any time getting it out there. ❤️
She's also got a killer fitness routine. Her secret to staying trim? ZOOMIES. Lots and lots of zoomies! We're currently on a mission to put a few pounds on this little lady because, despite what her pictures might suggest, she's a petite little short stack weighing in at just 38 pounds. Basically, she's a whole lot of personality packaged into a compact, wrinkle-covered body.
Squishy will see our vet before adoption, and she's currently fostering in Tucson, AZ.
So, if you're looking for a dog who will love you immediately, make you laugh daily, keep you company everywhere you go, and possibly judge your life choices with one deeply wrinkled expression… we might have found your girl.
Apply for Squishy today! Because life is too short not to have a little extra Squish in it. ❤️

14. Zeke
Young · Male · Rottweiler · 87 mi from Catalina Foothills

Meet Zeke! Our Newest Rotten Rottie!Zeke is an absolutely stunning young male Rottweiler. He was found as a stray and brought to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, where he ultimately ended up on the euthanasia list. While at the shelter, he was friendly with staff and caused no issues. Even the veterinary team was able to handle him easily. If you’ve ever owned a Rottweiler, you know the vet can be a challenging environment for them. The reason he was placed on the euthanasia list was due to dog reactivity reported in the shelter lobby, as well as his finder mentioning that he reacted to other people and dogs while on leash.
Read more about Zeke
This type of behavior is common to the breed and in high-stress shelter environments. With consistency and proper training, it can be managed or overcome. When I met Zeke, I didn't see any reactivity at all. I took him out of his kennel, walked him into a play yard, and navigated past other dogs. He even sat calmly outside his kennel while we readjusted his leash with other dogs barking just a few feet away, and he didn't react. He stayed focused on me and sat patiently. However, just because I didn't witness reactivity during our initial meeting doesn't mean it never occurs. Once we get to know Zeke better and observe him across different settings, we’ll have a clearer picture of what support and environment he needs to succeed.Regardless of why he was on the euthanasia list, after meeting Zeke and seeing what a wonderful dog he is, we knew we had to save him. We don't know his exact age, but he appears to be between 1 and 2 years old. So far what we have seen from Zeke is a smart, even-tempered, affectionate, and gentle boy.As we spend more time learning his personality, likes, and dislikes, we will update his profile. At this time, we do not know how he does with other dogs, small animals, or children, but we will try to test him in as many different environments as is safe and appropriate. In addition, Zeke will be heading to training with Amanda at Paw Creek Training next week! Amanda will determine how he does with other dogs, correct any behavioral concerns she finds, and teach him all his basic obedience. We can't wait to watch Zeke become the best version of himself! We truly believe Zeke is going to make an amazing companion, and we look forward to helping him build the life he has always deserved! If you are interested in meeting Zeke or any of our adoptable dogs, please visit our website at http://www.rottenrottie.com and complete our adoption questionnaire.Adoption Process:If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, "not-so-rotten" Rotties, you will be asked to fill out our adoption application which allows us to get to know you better. 15. Mira
Adult (1 year 1 month) · Female · Dachshund / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 77 mi from Catalina Foothills

DOLLY & MIRA — TWO LITTLE HEARTS WAITING TO FEEL SAFE
Some dogs know what it feels like to have a home, but they’ve never truly experienced what it means to be loved. Dolly and Mira are two of those little souls.
These beautiful sisters were part of a group of three puppies, but one of their sisters was given away. Dolly and Mira had an owner from the time they were puppies, yet they didn't receive the attention, time, socialization, and training they needed to grow into confident, secure dogs.
Read more about Mira
Born in September 2025, these little girls are still so young. They should be experiencing the world with confidence, learning new things, playing, and feeling safe in the arms of the people who love them. Instead, they're now learning that the world doesn't have to be so scary.
Dolly and Mira are in a new foster home, and right now, they're frightened and unsure of their surroundings. But slowly, little by little, they're beginning to relax. They're starting to realize that life can be different — that gentle hands, kind voices, patience, and love are possible. ❤️
They're learning the basics, including potty training and adjusting to crate training. They still have a lot to learn, and they'll need a family who understands that progress may take time. There may be setbacks, nervous moments, and days when they need extra reassurance.
But please don't overlook them because they're scared.
These girls aren't broken. They aren't bad dogs. They're simply learning things that should have been taught to them from the beginning. They need someone willing to see their potential rather than their fears.
Meet Dolly & Mira
❤️ Born September 2025
Chiweenies (Dachshund/Chihuahua mixes)

Looking for a patient, loving family committed to helping them build confidence
We would love for these sisters to find a home together, if possible. After losing the third member of their little trio and going through so many changes, there is something special about the comfort they may find in one another. Separate homes may also be considered if the right families come along.
Dolly and Mira don't need someone to make them perfect overnight. They need someone who will celebrate the little victories — the first time they approach without fear, the first time they settle comfortably in their crate, and the first time they truly believe they're home.
Please be the person who shows them that they were always worth the time, the effort, and the love. ❤️

Approved applicants can arrange a meet-and-greet, followed by a home check.

Read more about Dolly

We would love for these sisters to find a home together, if possible. MEET PINTA — THE SWEET GIRL WHO DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE!

At just 3 years old, Pinta has so much love left to give! She’s a super sweet girl who gets along with both other dogs and cats, making her a wonderful potential addition to a home with furry family members. 24. Dusty
Young (8 months) · Chihuahua / Pug / Mixed (short coat) · 77 mi from Catalina Foothills

Hi, My Name Is Dusty, and I'm Looking for My Forever Family
Hello there! My name is Dusty, and I'm a little Chihuahua mix with a big heart and an even bigger hope that my forever family is reading this right now.
Read more about Dusty
My story didn't start out the way every puppy deserves. I came to Central Arizona Animal Rescue along with my five sisters after being surrendered from a difficult situation. We weren't the only puppies there. We were told another litter of six puppies had already been given away at a gas station without vaccinations, microchips, spay or neuter surgeries, or any of the things that help keep dogs healthy and safe. There are reportedly even more older dogs still living in the home who haven't been fixed either. The humans at the rescue say this is what happens when animals don't receive proper medical care and responsible ownership. They were also told the owner has struggled with drug abuse, which made it even harder for all the dogs in the home to get the care they needed.
But enough about my past. I'd rather tell you about who I am today.
I'm a happy little guy who loves people, especially kids! I was raised around children and think they're pretty wonderful. Whether it's playing in the yard, snuggling on the couch, or following them around to see what adventure comes next, I'm always happy to be part of the fun.
I also have a special soft spot for adult women. They make me feel safe and comfortable. Adult men? Well, I'm still working on that. I don't dislike them at all, but sometimes I can be a little suspicious when I first meet one. Can you blame me? My early life didn't always show me that every human could be trusted. The good news is that I'm learning every day, and with patience, kindness, and a few treats, I warm up nicely.
The wonderful people at Central Arizona Animal Rescue have worked hard to give me a fresh start. I've been neutered, so I won't be contributing to the cycle of unwanted litters. I've also been vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. For the first time in my life, I'm getting the care every dog deserves.
My sisters are safe too. The rescue is working to get all five of them spayed as soon as time becomes available with their very busy veterinarian. The rescue is doing everything it can, but resources and space are limited.
That's why finding homes for dogs like me is so important.
When you adopt me, you're not just changing my life. You're helping create room for the rescue to save more dogs from situations like the one I came from. Every kennel that opens up gives another dog a chance at safety, medical care, and a better future. The rescue hopes to help as many animals as possible before the situation grows even larger and even more dogs are left without proper care.
And here's something important: even if a Chihuahua mix like me isn't exactly what you're looking for, adopting any dog from Central Arizona Animal Rescue helps. Every adoption opens a space and allows the rescue to continue helping animals in need.
So, what do you think? Could you be the family I've been dreaming about? I promise to bring love, loyalty, smiles, and plenty of Chihuahua-sized personality into your home.
If you'd like to meet me, Dusty, or any of the other wonderful dogs at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, please email mike@caaronline.org to schedule an appointment.
I'm ready for my second chance.
Maybe it's with you.
Love, Dusty

25. Poppi
Adult (2 years) · Female · Chinese Shar-Pei · 6 mi from Catalina Foothills

Have you ever met a dog who literally NEVER stops smiling? No? Well, stop scrolling. You’ve found her. Meet Poppi, the girl who apparently missed the memo that life is supposed to be hard sometimes.
Now, before you get too distracted by that ridiculously happy face, we need to talk about a few things. It’s pretty clear Poppi wasn’t exactly living her best life before joining the PEI People family. Her coat needs some serious TLC, and calling her skinny is like calling the Grand Canyon a little ditch. This girl needs groceries. LOTS of groceries.
Read more about Poppi
And those poor boobies? Let’s just say Poppi appears to have been running a puppy production facility for quite some time. We’re not sure how many litters she’s had, but we’re pretty sure she’s ready to retire from the baby-making business and pursue a new career as a professional couch potato. Her maternity leave is officially OVER.
But here’s the thing about Poppi. Despite what humans have put her through, she is STILL out here smiling like she just won the lottery. Dogs really are something special. We can disappoint them, let them down, and fail them in every possible way, and somehow they still show up ready to love us. We honestly don’t deserve them. ❤️
Now, let's review Poppi's résumé:
Dog-friendly? Absolutely! Poppi would love a friendly canine sibling to wrestle with in the yard. Finally, someone who speaks her language!
️ Food motivated? Is the sky blue? This girl LOVES to eat. She’s not particularly picky, either. Although she was offered a fresh carrot and promptly rejected it. Excuse her, but apparently she has standards. She may be starving, but she is NOT a rabbit.
Good with kids? We think she’d be great! Poppi is basically a walking, wagging, smiling advertisement for happiness.
Good with cats? We haven't officially tested her, but we're guessing she'd be just fine. Of course, the cat may have other opinions. Cats tend to be management around here.
♀️ Walks on a leash? Surprisingly well! And get this: she only started experiencing the joy of proper walks LAST WEEK. Imagine that. Nobody bothered to show this girl the world, and now she's discovering that there are entire neighborhoods full of smells she's been missing. Somebody get this girl a frequent walker punch card!
Special talents? Watching TV with her head tilted to the side like she's trying to solve a complicated math problem. We don't know what she's watching, but we're pretty sure she's judging the acting.
Crate trained? We're working on it because apparently every good adoption résumé needs that box checked. But honestly, Poppi would probably prefer to be wherever her people are. She's not applying for a job at the crate factory.
Poppi will receive a full veterinary evaluation before adoption, and we'll make sure she gets the care she needs as she starts her next chapter.
What Poppi needs now is pretty simple: a full food bowl, a soft place to sleep, some proper pampering, a friendly buddy to play with, and a human who will love her for the rest of her life.
She's spent enough time being someone's puppy-making machine. It's time to be someone's BABY. Someone's spoiled rotten, sleeps-on-the-couch, gets-too-many-treats, has-her-own-blanket kind of baby. And honestly? She's earned it. ❤️
Poppi has two requirements for her forever home: love her endlessly and keep the groceries coming.
So, who's ready to adopt a dog whose face permanently looks like she just heard the best joke of her life?
Come meet Poppi. Warning: side effects may include smiling uncontrollably, sharing your snacks, and suddenly having a dog-shaped shadow following you everywhere.
Adopt Poppi. She's got enough love for a lifetime, and she's ready to spend it with YOU. ❤️

26. Pickles
Adult (2 years) · Female · Chinese Shar-Pei · 6 mi from Catalina Foothills

PICKLES: BIG EARS, BIG HEART, AND A FUTURE IN HOME SECURITY!
Who doesn't love a good crunchy dill pickle? Well, meet Pickles, and we promise she's MUCH sweeter than the ones in your refrigerator!
Pickles came from the same situation as Poppi, and sadly, her story shares some of the same heartbreaking chapters. Another girl who appears to have spent far too much of her life producing puppies while not getting nearly enough food to fill in the gaps between her ribs. These girls deserved so much better, and now it's finally their turn to be spoiled rotten.
Read more about Pickles
But while Poppi's superpower is her never-ending smile, Pickles has a superpower of her own: EARS. GLORIOUS. ENORMOUS. EARS.
You say those aren't Shar Pei ears? Well, around here, we don't believe in body shaming. We celebrate our differences, embrace our uniqueness, and flaunt what we've got! And Pickles has got enough ear to pick up satellite radio. We're pretty sure she can hear an Amazon delivery truck three zip codes away.
Speaking of Amazon deliveries, Pickles takes home security VERY seriously. Every package delivered to your front porch will be reported immediately. Porch pirates, consider yourselves warned. Pickles is on patrol, and with those ears, your neighborhood watch program just got a major upgrade.
Now, let's talk about the fun stuff!
Toys? YES, PLEASE! Pickles loves a good toy and will happily entertain herself with one of her favorites.
Chew bones? ABSOLUTELY! She's a girl who appreciates the finer things in life. A tasty chew bone and a cozy spot to enjoy it? That's living.
♀️ Game of chase? SHE'S LEADING THE CHARGE! Don't let her quiet demeanor fool you. When playtime begins, Pickles is ready to clock in for her shift as Director of Zoomies.
Other dogs? HER PEOPLE! Pickles, just like Poppi, absolutely adores other dogs. These girls would love a friendly canine sibling to share their adventures with.
And here's where Pickles and her sister differ. Poppi is the sister who bursts through the door, introduces herself to everyone in the room, and makes sure absolutely NO ONE is unaware of her arrival.
Pickles? She's the sister standing politely in the back, taking it all in. She's listening to every word, studying the situation, and patiently waiting for her turn. She's basically the introvert at the party while Poppi is working the room like a politician running for office.
But don't mistake her quiet nature for a lack of personality. Pickles has plenty of opinions, and she isn't afraid to share the important ones. Especially when someone dares to leave a package unattended on the porch
Pickles had been seen by our vet and given a clean bill of health! She is spayed, had Entropion surgery, full bloodwork, vaccines and microchipped.❤️
After everything she's been through, this girl deserves a home where her food bowl stays full, her toys are plentiful, her chew bones are delicious, and her ears are celebrated like the national treasures they are.
She doesn't need to be the loudest girl in the room. She just needs someone willing to see how special she is.
Pickles is ready to trade puppy production for playtime, an empty stomach for a full food bowl, and an uncertain past for a forever family.
And if you're looking for a loyal companion who loves dogs, enjoys her toys, appreciates a good snack, and will NEVER let a suspicious cardboard box go unreported, well...
PICKLES IS YOUR GIRL! ❤️
Adopt Pickles. Because life is better with a little pickle in it!

MEET ZEUS #18!!
Read more about Zeus
Zeus is a medium-high energy boy who loves to plat fetch and tug-of-war. Then, he turns into a cuddle bug with his person. He does not show toy or food aggression. He is housetrained, crate trained and doggy door trained. He can be trusted alone at home (doesn't chew anything up). His only mischief is stealing food off the counter. Although he is crate trained, he does get anxious in it. He does well outside in his dog house or just chilling in the home. Zeus walks beautifully on a leash and is muzzle-trained for public. He bonds hard once you are his person--you will be his whole world. He is deeply loyal, protective, and affectionate with his people. He just needs slow introductions to build that trust.
He needs to be in an adult-only home with no other pets and a low-traffic household. When company comes over, he needs his own space to also build trust. His bite record is disclosed, and he needs an experienced owner who understands protective dogs and will keep his structure, boundaries, and muzzle use in public. There is a $50 rehoming fee. He is not a fit for a first-time dog owner or a busy household. However, he is truly a devoted companion in the right home. Meet Zeus today!

28. Porkchop
Young (7 months) · Male · Mastiff / Mixed (medium coat) · 77 mi from Catalina Foothills

“Hi, I’m Porkchop… and I’m Ready for My Real Forever Family.”
From the heart of Porkchop himself
Hi there. My name is Porkchop, and yes—I know it’s a funny name. Everyone laughs when they hear it, and honestly, I kind of like that. I’m an 8‑month‑old mastiff mix, which means I’m a big boy with an even bigger heart. I didn’t have the easiest start in life, but I’m hoping the next part of my story is the one where I finally find the family who sees me as perfect just the way I am.
Read more about Porkchop
I was rescued when I was about four months old, standing on the side of the road with my brother. Someone was giving away puppies like we were old furniture, and one of the volunteers from Central Arizona Animal Rescue saw us and knew we needed help. I had never been to a vet, never had any puppy shots, never had anyone making sure I was safe. But that changed fast. They scooped us up, brought us in, and gave us everything we needed—vaccinations, a microchip, and eventually I was neutered. For the first time, I felt like someone cared about me.
After a little while, I got adopted. I thought that was it—I thought I had found my forever home. But after a couple of months, they brought me back. They said I was “too big.” I didn’t understand. I didn’t do anything wrong. I just grew, the way puppies do. I tried to be good, but nobody taught me how. They didn’t work with me on leash manners, so yes… I pull when I walk. And sometimes I get excited and jump up because I want attention so badly. I’m not trying to be naughty—I just didn’t have anyone showing me the rules.
So here I am again, waiting. Hoping. I’m still the same sweet boy I was the day I left, just a little older and a lot more ready to learn. I need someone who will set boundaries, teach me gently, and help me understand how to be a polite, well‑mannered dog. I’m smart, I’m eager, and I really do want to make you proud. I just need a person who won’t give up on me.
My previous owners said I am house trained, which is a pretty great start. And I’m good with other dogs, too. I like having friends. I like being part of a group. I like feeling like I belong. I’m a big, strong puppy, but inside I’m just a soft, goofy boy who wants to be loved. I adore people. I lean in for pets, I wag my whole body, and I melt when someone scratches behind my ears. I’m happiest when I’m close to someone who cares.
If you’re looking for a dog who will grow into a loyal, loving companion… someone who will follow you around, keep you company, and make you laugh with his silly mastiff expressions… I might be your guy. I’m still learning, but I promise I’m worth the effort. I’ll give you everything I have—my trust, my affection, my big goofy smile—if you give me a chance.
If you’d like to meet me, the rescue says you can email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be waiting, hoping the next person who comes to see me is the one who finally says, “Porkchop, you’re home.”
Love, Porkchop

29. Ada
Adult · Female · Rottweiler · 87 mi from Catalina Foothills

We'd like to introduce you to our newest Rotten Rottie Ada.We recently rescued Ada from Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. Ada is a petite girl who is around 6 years old, and she has lived a hard life. She has some old injuries to her hind leg, which we are working with our vet to address so she can live a full life comfortably and free of pain.We are just getting to know Ada, but what is clear is that she is a sweet and gentle girl. She absolutely loves being comforted, and she loves food! She is so patient. She’ll sit in front of you before you even have to ask and wait quietly while you dig into your treat bag.Ada truly deserves a life full of love, food, and comfy beds.
Read more about Ada
She will be having surgery soon to relieve the pain she feels from the injury to her back leg. Once she has recovered, she will be ready to find her forever home. Adoption Process:If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, "not-so-rotten" Rotties, you will be asked to fill out our adoption application which allows us to get to know you better. This ensures the dog you are interested in is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our Adoption Application by visiting our website at www.rottenrottie.com (http://www.rottenrottie.com/), clicking on Adopt a Rottweiler, Adoption Application, and submitting the form online. After reviewing your answers, if we feel the dog you are interested in is not a match for your family, we may recommend a different Rottweiler companion. Once we determine which dog is best for you, we will schedule a meeting at their current home, where they feel most comfortable and act naturally. We require a home check to ensure each dog is going to a safe environment. To finalize the process, an adoption contract must be signed. We also require a rehoming fee, which is typically $500 for most adults and $350 for seniors (6 years and older) or Rottweiler mixes of any age (excluding puppies). Fees for puppies fluctuate depending on the investment required for the litter and whether they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary for our organization to continue rehoming Rottweilers in need. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and have tested negative for heartworms. Each dog comes with a collar and a leash. We also address any injuries or illnesses they had upon arrival or developed in foster care; any such conditions will be fully disclosed to the adopter prior to the adoption. Please Note: In almost all cases, we do not adopt to out-of-state applicants. On rare occasions, if we feel it is a PERFECT match for both you and the dog, we may make an exception for our neighbors in Las Vegas. If you live in Las Vegas and would like to be considered, please fill out our adoption application.

How to adopt from Rotten Rottie Rescue
Our Adoption Process... If you are interested in adopting one of our fun loving not so rotten rotties, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that will allows us to get to know you better and to make sure the dog you are looking at is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our questionnaire by going to our website, www.rottenrottie.com click on the forms tab, and fill out the questionnaire and submit it online. After we review your answers, if we feel that the dog that you are interested in, is not a good fit for you and your family, we may recommend a different rottweiler companion. After we determine which Rottweiler(s) is the best for you, we will set up a time so that you can meet him or her at their house, where they will feel most comfortable and act as they normally do. An adoption contract will be signed to finalize the adoption and we do ask for a rehoming fee of $400 for most adults, $250 for most of our seniors 6 years and above for any rottweiler mix of any age (except puppies) . Our fees for puppies fluctuate depending on how much we had to invest into them or their litter, and weather they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary so that our organization may continue to rehome rottweilers. ALL of our dogs are sterilized, fully vaccinated and microchipped, heartworm tested negative and come with a collar and a leash. We have also addressed any injury or illness that they had when they came to us, or received in foster care. These

Adopting a dog in Catalina Foothills
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
