1. Josie
Puppy · Female · Chihuahua / Pug (short coat) · 21 mi from Waterbury

Welcome Josie to CCPAL Rescue. Josie is a Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) puppy. She weighs 4 pounds and is 9 weeks old. She will be a small dog full grown. She should be 12 pounds or less. She is very sweet and has an adorable rounded head. She likes to be held, is good in a crate, goes on a wee pad and loves to play with toys. She was born at the Rescue. They took in a stray female and she was pregnant. This means the puppies get lots of attention and are very used to being in a loud and rowdy environment. Josie would be best in a home that the person doesn’t work all day every day. She needs to finish up her puppy training. Social pups make great adults and now is the time for her to spend time with her family and to go places and let people pet her. She is an AMAZING puppy. She would be fine with children. Due to her small size, we would like children to be 8 or older. She is getting her puppy vaccines and will have 3. She will then be ready for spay and adoption. She can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! 13. Jack meet me
Adult · Male · Chihuahua / Rat Terrier / Mixed · 22 mi from Waterbury

Jack is a pint-sized, Very Good Boy and he's ready for a home of his own. He's sweet & friendly, gets along well with other dogs, and is doing a good job going potty outside. He came to CPR recently and is doing very well in foster care. His foster mom was told he was blind in both eyes but he must have some vision as he has been getting around his foster home without any issues since his arrival. As his vision is certainly very limited (or he is blind), whoever is lucky enough to adopt this gem of a pup will need to ensure his safety as he is quite small and whatever vision he may have is impaired.

16. Apple Nugget
Puppy · Female · Dachshund / Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / Mixed · 22 mi from Waterbury

Apple Nugget is a itty-bitty little girl looking for her forever home. We believe she is a chiweenie but not for certain. She has a longer body and just resembles a weenie breed. Whatever breed she is, she is a cutie pootootie:) Apple Nugget is very smart and has already learned to use a doggie door at her foster mom's home. She loves to snuggle. She has been playing with her foster friends and likes to be the boss especially when it comes to doggie toys. She doesn't really like to share, but who does?? Apple Nugget would be a great addition to any family!! Go ahead and apply for her today so she can start planning her journey to her forever home! This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.
Read more about Apple Nugget
Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. 17. Blanca
Adult · Female · Rat Terrier (short coat) · 21 mi from Waterbury

Welcome Blanca to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2 year old Rat Terrier mix. She came in from a hoarding situation. We received 3 dogs from this case. One was adopted already and one had to go to a specialized trainer in another Rescue. Blanca has started opening up and allowing people to pet her and hold her. She never got any attention in her original home, the hoarder. She is good with other dogs and causes no issues. She is kennel trained and her response to being afraid is to run and hide. She is a timid girl and not the social butterfly. She would be perfect with a person that is more introverted and wants a pet that is also similar. Blanca would be satisfied being at home with you all the time. A small walk in the yard would be fine. She until now, has not walked on leash. She is learning to do it at our Rescue. She would like a patient owner and a quieter home. An older couple or older single person would be great. Someone with a quieter home. She would be fine kenneled away if you had a party or people over. She is not very vocal and prefers to blend into the woodwork. She is really a great dog for the right family. She is getting her vaccinations, nail trims and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She could be adopted locally in Texas or we could work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

Overview
Meet Celia, an adorable 7-month-old, 10-pound brown purebred Dachshund puppy. Celia came to Little Paws as an owner surrender after her previous owner no longer had enough time to care for her. She is a playful, affectionate puppy with a joyful little personality who is all about love and happiness.
Environment
Read more about Celia
Celia has a high energy level and loves going on walks, playing every day, and getting active exercise. She walks well on a leash and loves exploring. She has not tried crate training as she hasn't needed a crate so far. Because she has separation anxiety and can be quite chatty and vocal when left alone, she is not suitable for living arrangements with shared walls like apartments or townhomes. She needs an adopter willing to work on the separation anxiety. She relies on pee pads for her indoor potty routine.
Pets & People
Celia absolutely loves other dogs and is always ready to play, frequently trying to get resident dogs to join in her games. She is happiest when she has another dog around to interact with. With people, Celia is very nervous and skittish when first meeting new people, so she needs a little time, space, and patience to feel comfortable. She has never growled or tried to bite, and she has been curious around children and babies, approaching them cautiously before building confidence. She is highly food-motivated and will try to steal food if given the chance, but she responds wonderfully to quick verbal corrections.
Location
Celia is available for adoption from Doral, FL. Please email applications@littlepawsdr.org with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above.

Welcome Daisy to CCPAL foster program. Daisy is a 4-year Frenchie (French Bulldog). She has been a breeder dog and the breeder is no longer going to use her so she is now looking for her forever home. This awful in our eyes, but we are happy to find Daisy a real forever home where she can be loved and cherished and doted on. She is a wonderful dog. She is good with other dogs, potty trained, not too active, not too vocal and does good with children. She is getting her spay surgery with CCPAL. She is current on vaccinations and will also get her heartworm test. She has lived in a house so she knows the rules and structure of living with a family.

She is beautiful inside and out and we cannot believe anyone could give up a dog this fantastic. We would love someone that knows this breed. She has the shortened nose so this breed cannot tolerate heat well. Anyone that has had a Frenchie knows this. She would be fine with a moderately active family. She can go with children as well. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. 22. Maverick
Adult · Male · Chihuahua / Dachshund (short coat) · 21 mi from Waterbury

Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has taken Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Welcome Johnny to CCPAL Rescue. Johnny is a 7-month-old Pug mixed pup. He is a beautiful tan color with a black muzzle. He has an underbite and a shortened nose. He is a bigger-sized boy pup in the liter. He weighs about 15 pounds now and will be a small dog full grown. He has an adorable underbite and is great with other dogs. He is active but not over the top. He has the curly tail like the traditional pug but maybe the curl is less tight. He is a laid-back boy and was easy to take photos with. They all have curly tails and the round adorable heads. Johnny is one of two boys in the litter. He was the last puppy to come out of his kennel as he was enjoying his nap.
Read more about Johnny
He was very workable and stood still and sat willingly on the table for the photo shoot. They are all affectionate and cuddly. They are very playful with their siblings. Johnny is social and would be a great dog to take to the local coffee shop. He loves all people and is call in loud situations. They go on a wee pad but are not fully potty trained. They are good in a crate and are getting regular attention and love at the Rescue. We don’t have the privilege of adopting out many pugs. We are excited to find the pug pups their forever home. We would love pug people for these pups, as they know the breed most. They will be spayed and neutered and ready for their forever home soon. Someone that doesn’t work all day every day is the best candidate for a puppy. These pups would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as these pups are small and very trusting of everyone. Sebastien is available for adoption.
He is 18 months old and weighs 10 lbs.
His adoption fee is $900.00.
Hi ! I’m Sebastien I was picked up as a stray by animal control in NJ. There I had two previous adopters. One said I had too much energy and barked too much at his clients. The other had a large pig which they thought would hurt me. It was at that point SAYR pulled from the shelter and transported me to CT. where I’ve been at my foster family for a little over a week.
Read more about A Sebastien
I’m learning a lot and still have more manners to learn: I can be protective of food, and treats. I think I’m figuring it out, I don’t have to worry about getting food regular now. I love treats! Have I mentioned, I have lots of energy? I’m in good shape, very trim and have good teeth.
I love toys, hugs and cuddling. I’m okay with cats, but not gonna lie… when I get bored, I chase her. Foster mom said this is a NO. I’m still learning. I have a foster older brother, another Yorkie. I sometime play very rough, but he corrects me. I can be spicy to new people, but I warm up quick when I realize they won’t hurt me. (He is the sweetest and most playful boy once he feels safe)
Sebastien is staying with Gisele in Waterbury, CT 06710.

Read more about Libby2
Meet Libby, an adorable 2-year-old, 9.8-pound mini Red Boar Dachshund with a huge heart. Libby came to Little Paws after her previous owners gave her away on Facebook. Though she needs a little time to settle in, she is a wonderful, affectionate companion who loves to play and is a fantastic cuddler when sleeping with you at night.
Environment
Libby has high energy and loves daily walks and playtime. She is a great walker on a leash and loves exploring the outdoors. She would love a fenced yard to run and play safely, but would do well if exercised regularly on a leash and harness. Because she can be quite chatty and bark loudly when strangers approach, she is not suitable for living arrangements with shared walls like apartments or townhomes. She relies on pee pads and is not currently crate trained, crying the entire time if placed in a kennel.
Pets & People
Libby does wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and loves playing with her foster's 2-year-old dachshund. Another playful dog in the home helps greatly with her anxiety and would be her ideal setup. With people, Libby needs about two days to warm up and prefers women, as men have not always been kind to her in her past. We will not place her with small children. While she barks loudly at strangers to protect herself, she has done wonderfully at large adoption events when given patience and time. She can be greedy with treats and eats separately from other pets.
Health & Special Needs
Libby is currently on anxiety medication which she needs to take twice a day, though her foster believes she may be able to wean off of them once she settles into a stable forever home. She is still learning how to ride comfortably in the car and gets nervous, doing best when secured in a dog car seat.

Young · Terrier / Dachshund (short coat) · 21 mi from Waterbury

Welcome Sean to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 10-pound small Terrier/Dachshund mixed pup. He is 4 months old. His mom is Monica. Monica was on the street as a stray. We took her in to find out she was pregnant. The puppies were born in our Rescue. They have gotten lots of interaction. They are very social and friendly. Sean is one of the middle- sized boy pups. He looks the most similar to his mom. He is good with other dogs and loves to play in the water. He is cute and has the most adorable expressions. He likes being held and is very trusting of all people. He should be 15 to 18 pounds is our best guess full grown.
Read more about Sean
He should be small enough to take with you in a doggy sling or bag. He is a fun pup to pet because of his coat. He is full of personality and very good with his litter group. He goes on a wee pad and is good in a crate. He likes all people and is not shy around strangers. Her mom is 15 pounds. Our guess would be 10 to 12 for him. He is not a big shedder. He will make some lucky family a good pet. Anyone who adopts a puppy should not work all day every day because a puppy needs to be with their family and not home alone all day. He needs to finish up his puppy training. He will be a great dog for a social person wanting a matching puppy personality. He would be fine in a smaller condo size yard. He would be fine with other dogs. He can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting neutered, vaccinated and he will be ready for his forever home. Dolly has a medium energy level, loves going on walks, and is great when not left entirely alone. She appears trained to go outside and will also use pee pads. Dolly is wonderful with people of all ages, including children, and handles touching and petting like a pro. She is great with new people and has been accompanying her foster family everywhere. In a multi-dog home with the resident dachshunds, she was initially a bit scared but has successfully integrated and is now a happy part of the pack.

Welcome Butter to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 2 year old Chihuahua mixed dog. He weighs 12 pounds. He loves sitting on your lap and he is good with all the different personalities of dogs at the Shelter. He has slow growing Tcell lymphoma. The treatment would be hard on him and our vet says he has a number of very good years ahead of him. He is good on a leash. He is fine with strangers and all the small dogs at the Rescue. He would be good in a doggy daycare situation and is very social. He loves to sit on your lap so if you want a snuggle bunny, he is your dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.
