• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a super sweet, friendly girl and a complete lap and snuggle buddy! I love being close to my people and will happily follow you around the house because I'd much rather be wherever you are than spend too much time by myself. I'd do especially well with someone who works from home or isn't gone for long hours, since I really enjoy having my people nearby. I was a little leery of my foster dad at first, but with a little time and patience, I've really warmed up to him, so I may just need some extra time to feel comfortable with men. My hearing is very diminished, so I won't hear you coming or calling me, but I'll make up for it with all the love I have to give! I'm sure we'll discover lots more things we like doing together in our new home! / I'm not a fan of being alone in my foster home and I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention and good care.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I've just had a dental cleaning and several teeth pulled, so my mouth is healthy again. I'm on an inexpensive over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin which is good for all older dogs. 5. Barnaby Button

Senior (8 years 1 month) · Male · Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed · 24 mi from Mableton

Are you my new family? Foster mommy says I'm getting a new home, but I need to be patient until she finds me the very best one! I'm so excited!!!

Let me tell you a little about myself, just to speed the process along.
Here are the facts about this cute as a li'l button boy!

* 7-8 years old

* 11 pound male

* House trained

* Walks well on leash (but barks at other dogs)

* Crate? Not a fan but will calm down eventually

* Good with other dogs (cats unknown)

Read more about Barnaby Button

Somehow I ended up in a local shelter. I remember my story, but since my rescue, I'm loving life! I got my teeth cleaned and was all checked out. I love to eat and am motivated by FOOD! Treats please! And I ADORE tummy rubs and snuggles. Car rides are fun too; I like the window cracked so i can use my smell-o-vision.

I'm basically a quiet dog (ssshhh) unless someone's walking outside, then I think I'm a huge, fierce protector. I'm pretty low energy (aka couch potato) and am a loyal shadow, neither demanding nor destructive. I follow my foster mom everywhere and sleep deeply on a comfy bed at night. I dream of my furever home.

I give my heart fully and completely. I can be a bit skittish with quick movements, so may not be best with small children, but on the plus side, I don't shed too much even though I've got lots of long gorgeous hair.

6. Pollyana

Senior (8 years 1 month) · Female · Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed · 24 mi from Mableton

Meet Pollyana!

Looking for a little shadow with soft curls and a big devotion to her person? This six-year-old, 10-pound poodle-type girl takes her role as your constant companion seriously. Wherever you’re headed—even just to the next room—she’d love to come along!

She is a true Velcro dog who bonds closely with her favorite human, but she’s willing to accept a trusted “backup human” when her first choice isn’t available. Being close to someone she loves is her happy place.

Read more about Pollyana

She would prefer to have her person’s attention all to herself. She does complain when other dogs get too close to her human, although her canine housemates don’t always take her objections seriously. A home where she can be the only dog would likely be her happiest fit.

She is mostly house-trained and will need patience and a consistent potty routine as she settles in. Because she can snap when startled, she needs a calm home with adults only or older, dog-savvy children who understand how to respect her space and approach her gently.

If your idea of a perfect companion is a little dog who thinks everyday life is better together, this curly-haired girl might be your match.

Chihuahua who is nothing but a little love bug! This sweet boy loves snuggling in your lap, sleeping in your bed, and soaking up all the attention he can get.

Bullet does have a little Chihuahua sass and may grumble if another dog bothers him while he's resting. He'd do best in a home without very young children, where he can enjoy his peace and quiet.

Bullet is in pretty good health and will be getting a dental and neuter soon. All this little guy wants is a warm lap, a cozy bed, and someone to love him for the rest of his days!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I get along with the other calm dogs I've met, but I'm not looking for a playmate or to live with an active dog, so if you have a dog that sounds like this, let's meet! I'm calm, well-behaved, and wonderfully easygoing, and I love simply being in whatever room my people are in. I also have an independent side, so you don't need to entertain me. I'm happy to lounge on a comfy bed when my folks are away and I don't get on the furniture, counter surf, or get into things I shouldn't. I'm quite content to relax and enjoy the easy life just getting belly rubs and having my people nearby. A cozy place to rest is pretty much ideal. / Energy level: 2-4.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy short walks, lots of affection, and spending my day relaxing in a cozy spot. I'm happiest when I can be in whatever room my person is in, just keeping you company. Belly rubs are a definite favorite, and celery and carrots make wonderful little treats! / I'm not a fan of nail trims, but I know they need to be done, so I should be able to learn that they aren't so bad with patience and encouragement. And like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I'm on an inexpensive over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin that's good for all older dogs. 14. Victor

Senior · Male · Hound / Mixed · 19 mi from Mableton

Meet Victor! If you&#39re looking for a loyal companion who&#39s happiest simply being by your side, Victor may be your perfect match! This handsome brindle was born, we believe, in 2016, weighs around 70 pounds, and has all the wonderful qualities that make senior dogs so special--he&#39s calm, well-mannered, and ready to spend his golden years with a family to call his own.

Read more about Victor

Victor is completely house trained, has excellent leash manners, and is an absolute pleasure to take on leisurely walks. He&#39s a low-energy boy who enjoys a relaxed lifestyle and would thrive in a quiet home where he can soak up all the love and companionship you have to offer. Whether you&#39re reading a book, watching TV, or working from home, Victor is content just being close to his favorite people.

He&#39s quite the gentleman and even loves showing off his impressive list of tricks! Ask him for a shake, high five, or down, and he&#39ll happily demonstrate just how smart he is. Victor would be content as the only pet in the home, but he is also non-reactive to other dogs and cats in his foster home.

While he enjoys wandering around a fenced yard and taking in all the interesting sights and smells, a yard isn&#39t required. His easygoing nature and low exercise needs make him a wonderful candidate for a town home or apartment, provided he gets his daily walks. 15. Letty

Senior · Female · Terrier / Dachshund / Mixed · 16 mi from Mableton

A DARLING LADY: Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 11 lbs.

Hi there! My name is Letty! I came to Mostly Mutts along with another dog when we both needed new homes. I’m soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers here and I also got to go for a spend-the-night with one of the volunteers which was fun. I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience and learned a lot!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: Though I came in with another dog, I have not liked the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts, so I think I’d like to be your only dog. I’ll be tested with dogs again in the prison/foster training program. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, though I do guard my food and possibly some other items, so older kids that can follow guidelines with me will be best. Let’s say 10+ mature kids and of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a friendly, sometimes sassy, sweet little girl who’s full of fun and enjoys being around my people. I can be a bit timid at first, but I settle in quickly and my cheerful personality shines through. I was a brave girl during my bath, happily standing at the edge of the tub for my shampoo, rinse, and ear cleaning, and I was a busy, friendly little one during my photo session too. During my temporary foster stay, I settled in quickly but had a brief snappy moment with my foster dad one evening when he sat with me on the floor. Since I had liked him before that and was perfectly happy with him again the next morning, it appears to have been a one-time incident that perhaps had to do with a darker environment. In the off-site training program, I preferred to spend time indoors. I got to go on a daytrip to Swift Cantrell Park recently with one of my favorite volunteers and I had so much fun—she even made a video about it so please check it out! Spoiler alert: I rode well in the car, loved walking, exploring, checking out the joggers, wearing sunglasses and having a pup cup! / Energy level: 3-5.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have learned the ‘come’ and ‘place’ commands so far. I look forward to learning even more so let's continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! I’m a food guarder, so please give me space when eating. The Mostly Mutts trainers will be happy to show you how to work with me on that and I’ll be working on it in the off-site training program. I can be a little snappy with leashing and have made contact with a volunteer, so I’ll also be working on that in the off-site training program too. It seems I didn’t have much experience with stairs in my former home, so I’ll need my new family to teach me how to go up and down them. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts and slept well in it on my spend-the-night and in the off-site training program too. It is my safe space. I have growled if I don’t want to come out when other dogs are barking. / I’ve had a few accidents at Mostly Mutts, though not a lot, and my potty manners were good for the spend-the-night where they took me out regularly.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love cuddles, tasty treats, and spending time with my people. I enjoy playing and running around the play yard at Mostly Mutts, and I’ve shown an interest in toys, though I may still be learning how to play with them. One of my favorite places is relaxing in a comfy dog bed next to my person’s desk while they work, just happy to be close by. I also like riding in the car—so let’s ride! / Other than not liking other dogs at Mostly Mutts, not wanting folks by my food, and some leash sensitivity/reactiveness, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on my annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I had a dental cleaning with multiple extractions, so my mouth is fresh again. I’m also on an over-the-counter joint supplement calle

• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

I’m looking for a wonderful family to love that will take great care of me and cherish me furever! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Let's continue my training as there are more classes we can take through the free lifetime training that Mostly Mutts offers for their rescue dogs. I guard my food and sometimes toys, so please give me some space with these things. Also, the trainers will be happy to go over the strategies that work with me, so we'll be set up for success. / I’m doing well in my crate. In my foster home when it's time to go to bed, I walk right in my crate and settle down for the night. A SWEET & GENTLE SOUL: Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 46 lbs.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I get along very well with the mellow older dog in my foster home. We follow each other around, and I’m very affectionate with him. I even try to get my 14-year-old buddy to play, though he usually just looks at me like I’ve lost my mind! I’m very caring with him, too. I check on him often, stay right by his side, and even accompany him up and down the stairs. I seem to understand that his older joints and lower back make stairs more difficult, so I like to be there for him—I think that’s the Mama in me. I also met a couple of dogs at Mostly Mutts before going into my foster home and though I wasn’t quite ready to play with them, I also didn’t show any aggression. So, if you have a calmer-natured sweet dog at home already like me, let’s meet! / I am doing well with the kitty in my foster home and even allow her to rub her head on me. Of course, all cats are different, so I'm not sure how I would do with another kitty. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may accidentally bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I was pretty shut down when I first arrived at the shelter, but I’ve gained trust and confidence in my foster home. I’m a gentle, sweet, calm, and elegant girl who likes to take a little time getting to know new people. I’ve made wonderful progress in my foster home and I now seek affection, follow my foster around the house, play with her, and am comfortable in my surroundings. I generally only bark if my foster leaves the house with the other dog and I am left behind. I would do best with a family that will give me a little time and patience to adjust to my new home and blossom like I have in my foster home. I am a flight risk, so please use caution around doors and gates and don't let me off leash. / Energy level: Now that I feel comfortable, my energy level has increased to 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I don’t seem to know any commands, but Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so we could do some training together. My foster has worked with me on being comfortable getting into and out of a car and now I’m doing well with this and I ride calmly. / I’ll go in my crate when needed, though I don’t choose to hang out in it. At nighttime I happily sleep on a doggie bed by my foster’s bed. / I have very good potty manners in my foster home and will quietly go to the door when I need to potty, so you do have to watch when I head that way as I don’t bark to alert you.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I absolutely love soft blankets and enjoy snuggling up in them whenever I can. I also seem to enjoy watching TV, especially the DogTV programs my foster puts on for me. Relaxing and sunbathing are also enjoyable. I’ve even started showing interest in stuffed toys and am beginning to discover how much fun they can be! / I’m not a fan of loud noises, though my foster is helping me gradually get used to things like vacuum and weed eater sounds. I also don’t like being rushed into new situations or relationships and prefer a little time to feel comfortable and build trust. And like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet regarding a dental cleaning in the near future.

With a little patience, kindness and love, I look forward to being your wonderful companion! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
