Somehow I ended up in a local shelter. I remember my story, but since my rescue, I'm loving life! I got my teeth cleaned and was all checked out. I love to eat and am motivated by FOOD! Treats please! And I ADORE tummy rubs and snuggles. Car rides are fun too; I like the window cracked so i can use my smell-o-vision.
I'm basically a quiet dog (ssshhh) unless someone's walking outside, then I think I'm a huge, fierce protector. I'm pretty low energy (aka couch potato) and am a loyal shadow, neither demanding nor destructive. I follow my foster mom everywhere and sleep deeply on a comfy bed at night. I dream of my furever home.
I give my heart fully and completely. I can be a bit skittish with quick movements, so may not be best with small children, but on the plus side, I don't shed too much even though I've got lots of long gorgeous hair.

Slinky Dog is about 3 years old and around 10 pounds of love. Slinky is potty trained and is good with people and dogs. Cats are an unknown, but he would probably be just fine.

Slinky Dog is not fond of the crate, but that’s ok because he is not destructive and does fine in the house when left alone. When someone inquires on one of our dogs, we request completion of the adoption application. The application is reviewed and approved or denied. Meets are scheduled for approved adopters either at the foster parents home or adopters home. If the decision to adopt is made at that time but the animal is not ready (spay/neuter pending) a deposit is taken to hold the dog until ready for adoption. At the time of the adoption, the agreement is signed, education is provided, first month of heartworm and flea prevention is given, and payment/remaining payment taken. All of our dogs receive a physical exam, spay/neuter, vaccinations appropriate for age, dewormer, heart worm test (if over 6 mo of age) & microchip prior to adoption. The adoption fee ranges from $250 to $400. With an approved application, a 50% non-refundable deposit may be provided to hold a dog until all vetting is complete.
