3. Harper
Puppy (4 months 10 days) · Female · Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 5 mi from Sandy Springs

Harper, Henry and Harley are 15-week-old puppies that are terrier mixes. Their current weights are about 10 lbs. and are expected to reach 15-20 lbs. in adulthood. 5. Stoney
Adult (2 years 11 months) · Male · Rat Terrier (short coat) · 5 mi from Sandy Springs

Found as a stray in Georgia, 3-year-old Stoney's past is a bit of a mystery, but one thing is for certain: he is a gentle, sweet soul who is ready to give and receive all the love in the world.
Read more about Stoney
Stoney doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. He adores human attention and wants nothing more than to feel safe and loved. Unlike many typical vocal terriers, Stoney is remarkably quiet! He rarely barks, only occasionally letting out a few woofs at something outside the fence. He gets along with dogs his own size (he weighs nearly 11 lbs.) but does not play with them other than an occasional short game of chase in the yard. Larger dogs make him feel a bit intimidated, so he does best with canine pals near his size. He has not been cat-tested yet.
Stoney's house-training is coming along well. He is still learning his routine and has the occasional accident—mainly first thing in the morning—so a patient adopter who can keep him on a steady schedule will help him cross the finish line. Coming from a stray life, household and outdoor sounds can be overwhelming for him. Loud appliances like vacuum cleaners or hair dryers or even quieter sounds like dinner cooking on the stove can send him cowering into a corner. However, the longer he resides in a home environment and realizes he's safe, the more his confidence is improving. At night, he sleeps quietly in his crate in his foster parent's bedroom, not making a peep until the humans are ready to rise and shine!
Stoney walks nicely on a leash, but if he encounters strange people, unfamiliar dogs, moving cars, or sudden noises, his instinct is to "freeze." Once the perceived danger passes, he resumes walking. He walks right along on quiet nature trails or open fields where he can sniff and explore without the hustle and bustle of traffic, humans, or other dogs.
Because Stoney is so sensitive to noises, he is looking for a gentle, predictable environment in a quiet suburban neighborhood or rural setting with a fenced area for him to feel secure. His ideal home is adult-only (or one with older, calm teenagers) with a parent or parents who are home much of the time to continue building his confidence. Fast-moving, noisy young children would be too overwhelming for him.
Stoney needs an adopter who understands that shy dogs take a little time to bloom. With patience, gentle encouragement, and a safe space, Stoney will prove to be the most loyal, loving companion you could ever ask for. Is Stoney the gentle buddy you've been searching for? See more photos of Stoney at www.imageevent.com/newrattitude/stoney , then apply to adopt him today!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I've done very well with the two dogs in my first foster home, both of whom were male and around 15–20 pounds. I was very respectful when meeting them, even rolling over to show my belly to the more nervous one. Once they became comfortable with me, I got the zoomies and started inviting them to play! I shared toys nicely, enjoyed a fun game of tug-o-war with one of them, and loved having playmates. If the more nervous dog felt I was getting a little too energetic, he would give me a correction, and I listened, backed off, and gave him space. Of course, I'd kindly try again a little later—lol! I've been a wonderful housemate and have shown that I can be playful while still respecting another dog's boundaries. So, if you have a nice dog at home already, let's meet! / I've had a lovely introduction to the cat in my first foster home! She usually NEVER approaches dogs she doesn't know, but she took a liking to me almost immediately. When I first noticed her, I slowly approached and sniffed her, giving her a chance to sniff me, too. I didn't try to play with her but was content to calmly follow her around. I was very gentle and respectful of my new feline friend! Of course, all cats are different, so I'm not sure how I would do with another kitty. / I haven't met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let's meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I was a shy guy at the shelter, but once I went into my foster home, my fun-loving, happy personality just came out to surprise my foster family! I fit right into their fun, music-loving household in no time. I loved being included in all the activity with the people and other pets and was such a good guest that they said I was the best right from the start! I guess you could say I'm a pretty easygoing houseguest with a happy heart and a love for being part of the fun. I can't wait to settle into a home of my own where I can share in all the good times with you! / Energy level: 4-6.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I know the 'sit', 'down', 'come' and 'leave it' commands and I accept friendly strangers without jumping. I look forward to learning lots more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I did well in my crate in my first foster home with a nice bed and blanket. / My potty manners were great in my first foster home, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home as well.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love playing with my people, and honestly, it doesn't matter what we're doing as long as I'm doing it with you! I also enjoyed hanging out with the other pets in my foster home. Stuffed toys are fun, and a good game of tug-o-war is always a hit with me! I'm sure we'll discover lots of other things we will enjoy doing together once I'm settled in my new home. / Other than being at the shelter, I can't think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

9. Hannah
Puppy (3 months 28 days) · Female · Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 5 mi from Sandy Springs

Hannah is a four-month-old rat terrier mix, sibling to Hayden, Henry, Harley, and Harper. She currently weighs about 10 lbs. and is expected to reach 15-20 lbs. in adulthood.
Hannah is a full-on puppy in all the best ways: high energy, inquisitive, and always looking for her next adventure (or her next favorite chew toy!). Like many young pups, she can still be a little nervous when meeting new people for the first time. Once she knows she's safe, her sweet, affectionate side comes right out. After a fun round of puppy antics, she loves nothing more than curling up close for a long cuddle.
Hannah's wishlist for her forever family:
Read more about Hannah
A playmate: Hannah is accustomed to having a furry companion to play, wrestle, and snuggle with. Ideally, her forever home will have another friendly, playful dog to be her companion and teach her good doggy manners.
Big kids only: To prevent accidental drops or trips—and to manage normal puppy mouthiness/nipping—she needs a home without young children.
Training and routine: Hannah is not yet house-trained, but she is making great progress when taken out frequently. Plus, she's already a superstar at night and sleeps quietly in her crate all night long!
Hannah is ready to bring energy, warmth, and lots of puppy love to her new home! If you're looking for a new addition to your family and prepared to do a little bit of work for a huge return, apply to adopt today!

10. Hayden
Puppy (4 months 1 day) · Female · Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 5 mi from Sandy Springs

Hayden is a four-month-old rat terrier mix, sibling to Hannah, Henry, Harley, and Harper. She currently weighs about 10 lbs. and is expected to reach 15-20 lbs in adulthood. This long-legged girl is a funny, high-energy puppy with legs made for leaping—and yes, she can jump very high!
Read more about Hayden
Hayden is a classic pup: mischievous, endlessly curious, and currently under the impression that the whole world was made for her to chew on. But what truly sets Hayden apart is her comedic timing. When she gets caught in puppy mischief, she immediately pops into a perfect, polite "sit" and hits you with the ultimate sweet "Who, me? I was just sitting here being an angel!" look. She can be a bit nervous when meeting new people at first, but once she warms up and burns off her zoomies, she turns into a total sweetheart who loves to cuddle.
Her foster mom has been working on her crate-training and house-training, but she is a baby so she still has a ways to go.
Hayden's wish list for her forever home:
- A friend to play with: Having a playful canine sibling is ideal to help teach her manners, burn off energy, and give her a cozy buddy to cuddle with.
- Patient humans who are around more often than not: She is not yet house trained, though she is doing very well when let out frequently on a consistent schedule. She needs potty breaks every few hours, so she would not be happy left alone 8+ hours a day.
- Big kids only: Due to her small size and typical puppy nipping habits, a home without young children is required to keep both Hayden and the kids safe from accidental drops or sharp puppy teeth.

Her Personality:
Norma Jean is an affectionate girl who loves her people of all ages. She’s also a devoted, watchful companion who takes her role at home seriously. She's protective of her home and when strangers arrive, she can be cautious about welcoming them inside and bark. I do enjoy expressing myself with a bit of talking, so apartment or condo living may not be the best fit for me. One important thing to know is that I'm a door dasher, so please be extra careful when entering and exiting to keep me safe. I'm a lively, loving girl ready to bring plenty of fun and companionship to my furever family! / Energy level: 5-7, sometimes a bit higher.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the 'sit', 'down', 'come' and 'place' commands. I also have good leash walking manners. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and were good in a temporary home I visited for about a week. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule and were good in the temporary home I visited for about a week.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love toys, running around, and having fun with my people! If you have a fenced yard, I think we could have a great time running and playing together. I'm also a fan of good butt scratches (oh, that's the spot!) and, even though I'm an active girl, I enjoy being carried and held for a little cuddle time, too. I'm sure we'll discover lots more things we like doing together in our new home! / I can't think of any dislikes other than not getting enough activity and like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.
I'm a wonderful fun-loving girl looking for a family that will include me in on the family fun and love me furever! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.
18. H Puppies
Puppy (4 months 7 days) · Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 5 mi from Sandy Springs

Henry (#2911), Harley (#2909), and Harper (#2913) are 15-week-old puppies that are a terrier mixes. Henry is a male and Harley and Harper are females. Their current weights are about 10 lbs. and are expected to reach 15-20 lbs. in adulthood. These pups are still just babies that love to have fun running and playing with the other dogs in their foster home. They are high energy youngsters and would love to have a fenced yard and a playmate to use up some of that puppy energy. Harley has longer legs than the other two and loves running and jumping. The puppies enjoy playing with the larger adult dogs in their foster home.
Read more about H Puppies
They try to be playful with the foster family cat when they have an opportunity. These pups love to be lap dogs after they burn off their energy playing together. They are very smart and are doing great with their house-training, but they will still need more attention in a home of their own to complete their training. Overall, these puppies are adorable and very lovable dogs who love to play with someone and snuggle up in your arms. If you would like to adopt Henry, Harley, or Harper, please submit an application specifying which dog you are interested in. Additional photos available at

20. Nathan
Adult (4 years) · Male · Rat Terrier / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat) · 5 mi from Sandy Springs

Say hello to Nathan! He's a 4-year-old rat terrier/Dachshund mix who found himself wandering alone in rural Virginia. Some kind animal control folks picked him up and he ended up with New Rattitude. Nathan is being fostered in a boarding, daycare, and training facility (with access to a room just for the little dogs).
When given his space, Nathan is a comical, friendly, happy boy. He will throw balls for himself, even sometimes picking them up in his front legs to toss. He enjoys chew bones and can entertain himself for long periods of time.
Read more about Nathan
He's cute as a button too, with a rat terrier head and Dachshund body. He's named after the hotdogs since he looks like a little sausage. At 17 lbs,, Nathan is capable and scrappy. He walks on a leash and enjoys running in the fenced yards. He learned the dog door quickly, and since getting neutered, has not had accidents in the house. We recommend treating Nathan like a puppy when you first get him home and take him out frequently.
Nathan needs his space, and isn't thrilled when other dogs try to take his things. Nathan is not a good fit for a home with larger dogs as he is grumpy about his space, food, and toys, and will start things he cannot finish with bigger dogs. Nathan can be a little snippy with people and his toys as well. He has learned "Give" and "Leave it" while in his foster home, and will do so when a grown up tells him. However, small children are probably not going to enjoy time with him. If they try to take Nathan's things, he will show them the error of their ways.
If you are looking for a cute, smart, funny dog and don't have lots of other animals or kids in your home, Nathan just might be your guy!

21. Toefoo
Adult (3 years 11 months) · Female · Rat Terrier (short coat) · 5 mi from Sandy Springs

Meet Toefoo! She's a 4-year-old purebred rat terrier who found herself in New Rattitude's care after she decided the other dog in her home was not welcome. Toefoo came to us VERY obese. While in her foster home, she has had controlled meals and lots of outside time with exercise. She has already lost several pounds and feels so much better for it. She is now 22 lbs., but is hoping to get to under 20 lbs.
Read more about Toefoo
Toefoo gets along fine with the dogs in her foster home, and there are a lot of them. She is being fostered at a boarding, daycare, and training facility and every day brings a new group of friends. She is crate-trained, and has her meals in her crate. She sleeps in her crate overnight, but would be fine sleeping with you, or in a dog bed once she is adopted.
Toefoo is house-trained and has mastered the dog door quickly. She goes in and out throughout the day to do her business. When she first got to her foster home she was not leash trained. With persistence and patience she has learned that the leash is not a bad thing and that she gets to go with her people if she has it on.
We don't think Toefoo was out in the world much before coming to her foster home. If you want her to take long walks and visit places with you, you will need to give her time to learn about being out and about. She gets spooked and will try to run away, but once she knows you've got her back, she settles down.
Toefoo is very affectionate with the people she knows and is super happy to see you. She's got a full-body wag and big smile. Could she be your newest family member? More images of Toefoo are available in her album: https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/toefoo

A HANDSOME LITTLE GUY: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 14 lbs.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met some dogs at Mostly Mutts and did well with the more mellow dogs. I wasn't too fond of some active puppies I met. So, if you have a nice, mellow dog at home already, let's meet! Please feed us separate as I like privacy when I eat. / Cats unknown. / I haven't met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, but I don't care for people around when I'm eating, so if you have kids old enough to respect this, let's meet!
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a sweet, friendly little guy who may be a bit timid at first, so please give me a little time to feel comfortable. Once I start warming up, my lovely personality begins to shine! I was a brave boy for my bath, even if I did think clinging to the side of the tub was the best plan. Afterward, I loved being wrapped up and held in a cozy towel, which was much more my style! I also had the cutest little game with my treat, rolling it all around the bed as if I were playing my own version of treat soccer. I was a friendly little fellow for my photo shoot, too, and with some patience and gentle reassurance, I'm sure you'll see more of the adorable, loving boy I am! / Energy level: 4-6.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the 'sit', 'stay' and 'come' commands and I look forward to learning more. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love yummy treats and spending time with the nice volunteers! I'm still discovering all my favorite things, and I'm sure I'll find plenty more to enjoy once I'm settled into my new home with you. / Other than anyone close when I eat, I can't think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I needed double cherry eye surgery when I arrived and thankfully Mostly Mutts had done that for me. I have moderate/mild tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

29. Poppy
Adult (2 years) · Female · Rat Terrier (short coat) · 5 mi from Sandy Springs

Hello, my name is Poppy. I weigh around 18 lbs., and my foster family thinks I am only 1-2 years old! When I first got to my foster home, I was afraid of many things and very shy, but I am learning that life is not so scary. My foster family has many words to describe me: goofy, playful, enthusiastic, loving, snuggly, and very sweet. And did I mention I'm house-trained? I also sleep quietly in my crate at night, although I would love sleeping in bed with my humans just as much.
Read more about Poppy
I am still not comfortable walking on a leash, and I startle at loud noises, so my forever home will need a fenced yard so I can show off my house-training. I would also love another confident younger dog to help me continue learning to be my best self. I am learning to keep all four paws on the ground when I get excited, which means I probably shouldn't go to a family with small children – I might knock them over with my long legs.
My foster family is so proud of me for the progress I have made, and I am looking forward to a forever family who can be patient with my training! In the meantime, I am perfectly Poppy. You can see more of my photos at this link:
