Read more about Graham

Meet Teddy Graham Graham is a 3yr old, 50lb, neutered male that was saved from a local high kill shelter. Graham is a super sweet boy who greatly enjoys life despite the rough start he has had since we’ve pulled him from the shelter where he arrived as a stray. Graham enjoys squeaky toys and chewing on bones in his foster home. He did well meeting the resident dog in his temporary foster home after slow introductions where they enjoyed playing chase in the yard together. Graham appears to be house broken when let out consistently and is working on his positive relationship with the crate. He was doing well with his temp foster and she could even leave him lose in the finished basement without him getting into or destroying anything. Graham basically seems like your average joe but he’s not lazy by any means. He would really like a home with a playmate to run around with, someone to take him on walks or play fetch outback before some snooze time on the catch for some tv for the evening; so nothing major but a little something.
Graham is microchipped, neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives with an adoption fee of $375. If you think this Teddy Graham would be the perfect furever member of your family please fill out our adoption application at: https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-adoption-application
Thanks!

2. Oreo

Puppy · Female · Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 15 mi from Havre de Grace

Oreo is an approximate 8 month old, 18 lb, spayed female mix found as a stray & never claimed , so her history is mostly unknown. She is the perfect catch and enjoys dogs, cats and kids! For still being what we consider a puppy, she is very well behaved other than stealing an occasional sneaker! She enjoys playing with other dogs, being with her people, and will snuggle once she’s gotten her puppy zoomies out!

We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you!

Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes.

Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site.

Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. Then, they will set an appointment with you to come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take Rover (or Spot, or Jax) home with you that very day.

A couple of things you should know:

We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email.
Adoption fees vary based on breed.
All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed).
We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters.

15. Princess

Adult · Female · English Bulldog (short coat) · 22 mi from Havre de Grace

PRINCESS is a five year-old English Bulldog who was retired from breeding. Although she is Amish, we wouldn’t say she came from a “Puppymill”. Princess needs a family who will help her transition to home life. She is very very sweet although she can be a little tentative to new situations like linoleum floors and things that she hasn’t been exposed to yet. She is a good car rider and enjoys her walks however, they are HER walks and might not be in the speed or direction that you were planning. Princess gets along well with our Corgi, LILAC, who came from the same farm and she would probably do best with a doggy friend to show her the ropes. Fine with cats. Princess is laid back by day but when we are not there at night, she does turn into a little gremlin and dumps things over and gets into things. In a real home, this behavior might surface while you were at work. Ideally She would have somebody that’s not gone all day and a safe spot while you are away.

19. Flippers

Young · Female · Terrier · 23 mi from Havre de Grace

She beat the odds, found a home, and now she's hoping for one more chance to find her forever family.Meet Flippers! You may recognize Flippers from about a year ago when she arrived at the shelter sporting her famous flat feet, this special girl spent quite a while in casts and then in foster care while she learned what it meant to be loved, safe, and part of a family. During that time, she blossomed into the wonderful dog she is today.Flippers was adopted and was happily living her best life, but unfortunately, circumstances changed when her adopter had to take a new job and could no longer keep her.

Read more about Flippers

Through no fault of her own, Flippers has found herself back with us and searching for a new family to love.To our surprise, Flippers is still very much a puppy at heart! She's matured in all the right ways and has gained some manners along the way, but she still has plenty of playful energy and enthusiasm for life. She recently spent time with our behaviorist, where she did very well and showed just how smart and adaptable she can be.Flippers has lived successfully with a small dog and enjoys canine companionship. She has also lived with younger children and did not show any issues. Cats, however, are a little too exciting for Flippers, so she is looking for a cat-free home. Because she's an active, athletic girl who loves to explore, she will require a home with a secure 6-foot fenced yard.Flippers has already overcome so much in her life, and through it all she has remained the happy, resilient dog we fell in love with from the beginning. Now all she needs is another chance at the forever home she deserves.Could Flippers be the missing piece in your family? Come meet this unforgettable girl and see why so many people have been rooting for her since day one. Flipper's adoption fee is $125, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. 20. Boulderface

Young · Male · American Bulldog · 23 mi from Havre de Grace

In honor of Pit Bull Awareness Month, my adoption fee is WAIVED for the entire month of October! ❤Meet Boulderface, a 1-year-old XXL Bully mix with a head as big as his heart. This goofy guy came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his past, but what we do know is that he's packed full of love, muscle, and personality.Boulderface may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he makes up for it with endless affection and an adorable "big doofus" charm. He absolutely loves people and believes personal space is optional. In fact, he's one of the biggest leaners you'll ever meet. If you're standing nearby, expect a giant bully-sized shadow pressed against your side.

If you move, he's probably coming with you.Still very much a puppy at heart, Boulderface is learning the ropes. He already knows how to sit and usually comes when called, but he's still working on mastering those listening skills. With continued training, consistency, and patience, this lovable meathead is sure to keep making progress.Because of his size and strength, Boulderface is looking for a home with children over 8 years old who can comfortably handle a big, happy dog. He may enjoy a canine companion who can match his playful energy, but any meet-and-greets with resident dogs are recommended. Cats are definitely not his thing. Boulderface doesn't always realize just how big he is, and a feline friend would not appreciate his enthusiastic approach to life. The ideal home for Boulderface is one with someone willing to provide structure, guidance, and plenty of love. He needs a person who can occasionally put their foot down when this oversized puppy forgets his manners. In return, you'll get a loyal best friend, a professional cuddle expert, and enough love to fill an entire room.If you're looking for a giant goofball with a heart of gold and a face you'll never forget, Boulderface might just be your perfect match. ❤️Boulderface's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adopting a dog in Havre de Grace

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
