Available for Adoption
Read more about Graham
Meet Teddy Graham Graham is a 3yr old, 50lb, neutered male that was saved from a local high kill shelter. Graham is a super sweet boy who greatly enjoys life despite the rough start he has had since we’ve pulled him from the shelter where he arrived as a stray. Graham enjoys squeaky toys and chewing on bones in his foster home. He did well meeting the resident dog in his temporary foster home after slow introductions where they enjoyed playing chase in the yard together. Graham appears to be house broken when let out consistently and is working on his positive relationship with the crate. He was doing well with his temp foster and she could even leave him lose in the finished basement without him getting into or destroying anything. Graham basically seems like your average joe but he’s not lazy by any means. He would really like a home with a playmate to run around with, someone to take him on walks or play fetch outback before some snooze time on the catch for some tv for the evening; so nothing major but a little something.
Graham is microchipped, neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives with an adoption fee of $375. If you think this Teddy Graham would be the perfect furever member of your family please fill out our adoption application at: https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-adoption-application
Thanks!

2. Oreo
Puppy · Female · Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 16 mi from Port Deposit

Oreo is an approximate 8 month old, 18 lb, spayed female mix found as a stray & never claimed , so her history is mostly unknown. She is the perfect catch and enjoys dogs, cats and kids! For still being what we consider a puppy, she is very well behaved other than stealing an occasional sneaker! She enjoys playing with other dogs, being with her people, and will snuggle once she’s gotten her puppy zoomies out!

3. Princess
Adult · Female · English Bulldog (short coat) · 19 mi from Port Deposit

PRINCESS is a five year-old English Bulldog who was retired from breeding. Although she is Amish, we wouldn’t say she came from a “Puppymill”. Princess needs a family who will help her transition to home life. She is very very sweet although she can be a little tentative to new situations like linoleum floors and things that she hasn’t been exposed to yet. She is a good car rider and enjoys her walks however, they are HER walks and might not be in the speed or direction that you were planning. Princess gets along well with our Corgi, LILAC, who came from the same farm and she would probably do best with a doggy friend to show her the ropes. Fine with cats. Princess is laid back by day but when we are not there at night, she does turn into a little gremlin and dumps things over and gets into things. In a real home, this behavior might surface while you were at work. Ideally She would have somebody that’s not gone all day and a safe spot while you are away.

Princess will be available at the beginning of October 2026 after her spay surgery. She will also be vaccinated, heartworm tested and micro chipped at that time. Adoption $300. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you were the family that Princess is Looking For!

Kooper is in a foster home with multiple dogs and gets along with them well! A fun-loving, active little pup looking for like-minded family! Kooper has been neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for heart worms and tickborne disease diseases, microchip and is ready to go home with you. He weighed 25 pounds at his surgery check-in. Young · Pug / Miniature Pinscher (short coat) · 19 mi from Port Deposit

OCEAN BREEZE is an 8 month old MinPin/Pug mix (birthday January 2026) who has had a rough start in life. She was rescued by a good Samaritan when someone was giving her away in a parking lot and then her savior had a stroke. Breeze is a little shy at first meeting but quickly warms up. She would love another young active dog to play with. Seeking a family who can get her out and about to experience new things and help her confidence grow! At 23 pounds, she’s a great travel size!

6. Simba
Male · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat) · 19 mi from Port Deposit

SIMBA is a 13 year-old Lab Mix who was given up due to the health of his elderly owner. It is apparent that he was well loved although finances were stretched thin for his veterinary care. We have had him neutered, vaccinated and did a pre-surgical bloodwork which looks good. He tested negative for heart worms and tickborne diseases. What a nice dog! Simba loves everybody that he meets and attended one of our events at a busy brewery and did great! Great with other dogs!
We would love to find Simba his retirement/forever home! Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you have the home we are looking for . Adoption $250

We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you!
Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes.
Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site.
Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. Then, they will set an appointment with you to come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take Rover (or Spot, or Jax) home with you that very day.
A couple of things you should know:
We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email.
Adoption fees vary based on breed.
All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed).
We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters.

Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes.
Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site.
Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you).

Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Adopting a dog in Port Deposit
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
