1. Josie
Puppy · Female · Chihuahua / Pug (short coat) · 57 mi from St. Cloud

Welcome Josie to CCPAL Rescue. Josie is a Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) puppy. She weighs 4 pounds and is 9 weeks old. She will be a small dog full grown. She should be 12 pounds or less. She is very sweet and has an adorable rounded head. She likes to be held, is good in a crate, goes on a wee pad and loves to play with toys. She was born at the Rescue. They took in a stray female and she was pregnant. This means the puppies get lots of attention and are very used to being in a loud and rowdy environment. Josie would be best in a home that the person doesn’t work all day every day. She needs to finish up her puppy training. Social pups make great adults and now is the time for her to spend time with her family and to go places and let people pet her. She is an AMAZING puppy. She would be fine with children. Due to her small size, we would like children to be 8 or older. She is getting her puppy vaccines and will have 3. She will then be ready for spay and adoption. She can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

2. Dior
Adult · Male · French Bulldog · 64 mi from St. Cloud

Say hello to Dior, an almost 3-year-old French Bulldog with a big personality packed into 23 pounds of brindle perfection! This silly little guy loves being wherever his people are, following you from room to room, soaking up affection, and making sure you always know what he’s thinking with his signature Frenchie grumbles. He’s a total sweetheart who loves to be held and included in all the daily activities. He does have a preference for having his people around. He isn't a fan of being crated when everyone is home and would much rather be out enjoying their company. He may whine briefly in his crate when he's ready to be done or hears people moving around, but he settles down quickly.
Read more about Dior
He can also let out a few short, fairly mild barks when he hears cars, neighbors, or other noises. He isn't typically a prolonged barker when left alone.Dior would love a home where someone is around more often than not and where he can be part of the family. He would appreciate a family who enjoys a little playtime indoors and a couple of short, leisurely walks each day. Due to his current breathing limitations, walks should be kept short with plenty of breaks.Like many French Bulldogs, Dior needs a little extra attention when it comes to his skin. Regular medicated baths and skin moisturizers will be important to keep him comfortable, and he may need seasonal Apoquel if his dry skin isn't adequately controlled. He will also be on a contract for his nares (nostril) and soft palate surgery. His breathing currently limits his exercise, so his adopter should be prepared to continue being mindful of his activity and comfort.Dior is a goofy, affectionate, slightly grumbly little companion who just wants to be loved and included. He has so much personality, so much sweetness, and so much love to give. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who will make you laugh, keep you company, and happily accept all the cuddles you have to offer, Dior might just be your guy!If you are interested in Dior, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

5. Agatha Christie
Young · Female · Pit Bull Terrier / Terrier / Mixed · 64 mi from St. Cloud

Meet Agatha Christie, the adorable pocket pittie with a big personality and an even bigger love for cuddles! At almost 8 months old and 22 pounds, this sweet gray-and-white girl is short, stocky, and full of puppy charm. Her two favorite things are playing with her people and soaking up affection. If there's a lap available, Aggie is happy to claim it!Agatha loves toys, playing with other dogs, and getting attention from just about everyone. She's been wonderful with her foster family's 3- and 7-year-old granddaughters, enjoying cuddles and games of tug-of-war. She also gets along well with other dogs, although her wrestling style can be pretty enthusiastic! A canine companion who enjoys a good play session would be a bonus.
Read more about Agatha Christie
Cats are an unknown, although her foster family suspects she'd be curious and playful. At home, Agatha has a medium-low energy level, with a daily walk and some playtime keeping her happy. She's still working on leash manners and potty training, but she's making progress! She keeps her crate clean and dry overnight and settles in nicely once she's inside, although she may need a little encouragement at bedtime.Agatha has a few adorable quirks, too. If she's in her puppy pen and feels like she's missing out on something, she'll climb up and rest her front paws on top, peeking over the edge with the most pitiful, longing expression. And with her short legs, broad chest, and muscular build, her little crouching walk has been compared to something straight out of The Nightmare Before Christmas!Agatha is being treated for a skin infection that is clearing up nicely, and her small patches of missing fur are expected to grow back. She is scheduled to be spayed on November 7.This little pocket pittie is an absolute sweetheart who wants nothing more than to be part of the fun, stay close to her people, and receive all the cuddles she can get. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate pup with a whole lot of personality, Agatha Christie might just be your leading lady!If you are interested in Agatha, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. 12. Delilah
Adult · Female · German Shepherd Dog / Terrier / Mixed · 64 mi from St. Cloud

Meet Delilah, a gentle, easygoing girl whose idea of a perfect day involves belly rubs, cozy couch time, and being surrounded by people who love her! This 4-year-old German Shepherd mix weighs 70 pounds and has a heart as big as her love for snuggling. Delilah is a true couch potato who would much rather relax with her favorite humans than go on a long hike or run a marathon. She enjoys leisurely walks, especially when there is plenty of time to sniff and explore and is happy with a couple of short walks each day.Delilah is wonderful with children of all ages and is calm, patient, and gentle when little ones come by to pet her.
Read more about Delilah
She also gets along with other dogs, especially those who are laid-back and respectful of her space. She enjoys playful outings with canine friends but prefers not to roughhouse, and rowdy, reactive, or overly enthusiastic dogs can make her feel nervous. She has also lived with cats in foster homes and reportedly ignores them, making her a potential fit for a home with feline friends. At home, Delilah is quiet, house-trained, and wonderfully content to spend an evening lounging on the couch with her people. She loves belly rubs, affection, and kibble, and she’s recently started discovering the fun of toys! She’s still learning how to play and beginning to get the hang of it. She may not climb into your lap, but she will happily rest her head or a paw against you to stay close. Just be prepared to share the couch, because Delilah is perfectly capable of claiming the whole thing!Delilah does have some separation anxiety and takes medication to help manage it. She may get into a little mischief while you're away, such as relocating your shoes, but she does not need to be glued to your side. She simply likes knowing someone is home and can eventually settle down for a nap when left alone. She is not crate-trained and is uncomfortable with being crated, so her future family should be prepared to accommodate her without relying on a crate. And one more thing about this princess: Delilah is not a fan of wet paws! A little drizzle may earn you a very judgmental look as she wonders why anyone would expect her to venture outside in such conditions. She will happily wait for better weather if given the choice.Delilah would love a home where she can enjoy plenty of companionship, gentle affection, and a relaxed daily routine. A family with multiple people would be especially nice, and another calm, compatible dog could be a bonus, though she doesn't need a canine companion to be happy. If you're looking for a sweet, low-key friend who will happily trade adventure-filled days for cozy evenings and endless belly rubs, Delilah might just be your girl!If you are interested in Delilah, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. Meet River a 5 year old Dane X. River is a gentle giant with a heart as big as he is. This cat-loving Great Dane mix has white twinkle toes and a lover’s soul through and through.
River is on his way to us from Louisiana, where there are far too many dogs and very few humans who care. The dogs there are just trying to survive each day, with only the rescuers to look out for them. River has been waiting in rescue for his forever home for far too long, and he is exactly the kind of dog UDR strives to help.
Read more about River
When he arrives, River will be fostered in a home with other Danes, so he’ll have friends to enjoy and keep him company. He is crate and house trained, rock solid, and has truly been there, done that. He will be going through heartworm treatment once he is with us, but we don’t want him to wait any longer. We would love to find his happily ever after soon, even while he is in treatment. River has spent his life far to long waiting and we know moving him to our rescue was the right thing for him. Let's find him a forever home. He is so deserving!!!!
If you adopt River, you will probably say you don’t understand why he wasn’t scooped up by another family. And you will be so thankful it was you. Interested in meeting River? www.uniteddobermanrescue.org

Lola will need a family committed to helping her work on her recall and keeping her safe. A securely fenced yard would be ideal, or an adopter willing to consistently work on training and reinforce boundaries.
With the right home and a little patience, Lola is ready for her next chapter! Could you be the one to give this sweet girl the safe and loving home she deserves? ❤️
If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application.

She enjoys an active lifestyle with daily walks, games of fetch, and tug-of-war, so a home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal for giving her extra opportunities to play and burn off energy.Rhea has lived with a young child and was wonderfully patient and gentle with her 4-year-old housemate. She has also been assessed by trainers as dog-friendly, although she has not yet lived with another dog. She tends to get excited when she spots other dogs on walks and may show interest in greeting or playing with them. Her compatibility with cats is unknown.Rhea can be a little cautious when meeting new people, so she appreciates slow introductions and the chance to build trust at her own pace. She may not be everyone's instant best friend, but once she feels comfortable, she becomes a loving companion who enjoys being close to her favorite humans. She is continuing to build confidence and would thrive with a patient, active family who can help her explore new experiences and learn new things. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate companion who will happily join you for walks, chase tennis balls in the yard, and lean against you for extra ear scratches, Rhea might just be your girl! With a little patience as she warms up, you'll discover a wonderful friend ready to share life's everyday adventures. If you are interested in Rhea, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Hi! Hi! Hi! Did I say hi yet? My name is Sally, but sometimes my foster mom calls me Salligator, Salmonella. I’ll respond to pretty much anything, especially when you tell me I’m a pretty girl. My fur must be velcro, because I Absolutley am stuck to my humans side
24/7
. I get anxious when you’re not around, but I promise to behave when you’re gone! That leads me to the thing they call a kennel. Can we just say, no thank you?! I am working hard on kennel training but it’s very scary for me. You see, I just want to be near and beside my humans at all times. I’m also working hard on commands. I know sit, stay, and am so close to mastering heel. I live with a thing that meows, but I really don’t mind it! I’m interested in the cat, but I don’t chase. I’ve been waiting patiently to be near the cat, and we finally sat together a few days ago! I love sleeping on the bed with my person/people. Walking? I’m a pro. I don’t pull on the leash, and I don’t zig-zag too much. If I see another dog on a walk, I just look in its direction. Call me to come and keep walking and I will! Seeing other humans on walks doesn’t bother me either. I am just eager to share my love with everyone! My foster mom says I’m one of the quietest Boxers ever… except for my snoring! I also live with tiny human that has special needs, and I’m so gentle with her! Again, just being near my humans is where I want to be. My foster mom says I’m an ambassador for being America’s Sweetheart!

From the Foster Family: Roscoe Lee recently joined us from Alabama. He is a sweet, playful boy who loves attention. He enjoys being outside playing with other dogs and children. It does take him a little bit and lots of sniffing to get comfortable with other dogs, but once he knows it’s okay, he loves to play. He would do great with a yard and with a family who love doing outdoor activities. Roscoe Lee is crate-trained and will go in when told but does get nervous when left alone for too long. If you are looking for a story of incredible resilience wrapped up in a joyful, bob-tailed package,Tankian is your guy! This young pup made the big trek all the way from Mississippi to Minnesota after being found abandoned and living outdoors. While he was initially slow to trust—a gentle reminder of a past that wasn't very kind—Tankian has completely transformed into a sunbeam of pure happiness. He keeps us smiling every day with his goofy enthusiasm, his constant hunt for the ultimate chew toy, and his nearly perfected potty training skills. Tankian absolutely adores having other dog pals to wrestle with, and his unique little tail wiggles at top speed whenever he’s happy (which is almost always!) He is also very respectful of cats and spends his days watching the two in his foster house play. He has left his tough past behind and is completely ready to shower his forever family with unconditional devotion. When he trusts you enough to jump up and lay his head on you your heart will melt.
From Tankian’s Perspective
"Hey! I’m Tankian and I rocking a beautiful multi colored coat, and officially retired from the outdoor rough-ing it life! I traded the Mississippi humidity for Minnesota's four seasons? 10/10 upgrade. I used to be pretty suspicious of people (turns out my early life wasn't great), but once I realized humans come with treats, cozy dog beds, and belly rubs, I was ALL in. My daily routine includes: smiling continuously, practicing my 'almost perfect' house training, searching for high-quality chew toys to inspect, and begging any dog in a five-mile radius to be my new best friend. I’ve got a huge heart, zero grudges, and a world-class bob tail wiggle. So, who’s ready to adopt a reformed southern gentleman with a top-tier smile?"

Read more about Lenni
Lenni is a sweet, gentle girl who just needs a little time to warm up to new people and surroundings. When she first arrives somewhere new, she can be a bit timid and reserved, but give her a few days, a little routine, and some reassurance, and she'll start showing you just how wonderful she is.
We've watched her confidence grow so much in the short time she's been with us. She now happily ventures around the house, enjoys time outside, goes on walks, and greets her favorite people with the happiest little tail wags!
Once she's comfortable, Lenni loves being with her people, chewing on toys, playing outside, going for walks, getting treats, snuggling, and taking cozy naps. She's a pretty low-key girl who enjoys the simple things in life.
She's also incredibly gentle and sweet with our school-aged children. She's been a wonderful houseguest, with no accidents in the house, and does well both on her own and in her crate.
Lenni is still getting comfortable with new people and experiences, so she'll appreciate a family who gives her a little grace and lets her settle in at her own pace. But don't mistake her initial shyness for a dog who takes forever to warm up. Once she has a few days to get her bearings and figure out her new people, her sweet personality really starts to shine.
We're looking for someone who will appreciate this gentle soul and give her the safe, loving home she deserves. In return, you'll get a sweet companion who is happy just being near her people and sharing life's little moments.
Lenni is ready for her fresh start and her forever family!
About Me:
Hi! I'm Lenni! I'm a sweet, gentle girl, and I'm looking for my forever family!

I'm also very gentle with school-aged kids! I'm pretty easygoing around the house and I just love to be where the people are chewing on my favorite toy.
I'm not a high-maintenance kind of girl. I don't need much to be happy: just a safe home, a little patience while I get settled, some toys, and people to love.
If you're looking for a loving companion who will happily become your little shadow once she knows she's home, I'm your girl!

Adopting a dog with children in St. Cloud
Bring the whole family to meet the dog before you adopt, and ask the rescue how the dog behaves around children your kids' ages.
Teach children to let the dog come to them, to stroke gently, and to leave the dog alone while it's eating or sleeping. Give the dog a bed or crate of their own to retreat to, and always supervise young children with a new dog.
Relaxed adult dogs are often a better match for young children than puppies, which jump up, nip and chew while they learn.
