1. Susie
Young · Female · Unknown breed (short coat) · 7 mi from Lincroft

Lovebug looking for a home.
Read more about Susie
Susie came to us scared and skinny not knowing how to be a dog. What she did come with was the sweetest disposition we’ve ever seen in a dog; pure love and joy. With time, patience and a lot of love from her foster family and the resident dogs, Susie is learning to trust and has blossomed into an amazing dog. Susie truly smiles when she is happy and does her squishy face when she wants to get close to you and get some pets. She has made leaps and bounds in learning how to be a dog. Susie is good with other dogs although personal space is not her thing so older/senior dogs who don’t like her puppy energy may not enjoy her company. She is good with kids but older children may be best since fast movements tend to scare her. We feel Susie is ready to find her forever family and make them as happy as she makes her foster family.
Susie likes:
Playing with dog toys (and your shoes should you leave them near where the toys are )
Cheese – she knows the morning lunch making routine and is often first there to get her cheese tax
Other dogs – she loves to play and run in the yard with other dogs. She takes her cues from them still as she still has some confidence to build
Kids – older kids preferred as quick movements make her nervous
Her crate – Susie’s crate is her safe place and her preferred place to be if there is a lot of noise or a lot of people to be around. She goes in and sleeps through the night and prefers it over even the couch most days
Looking out windows to see who else is walking by
Susie’s has a few requirements for her adoption.
A fully fenced 6 foot or higher decent size yard where she can play and run. This girl can jump! She does not like the leash so running and playing in the yard are her main source of exercise and enjoyment
At least one other dog who likes to play and will be willing to engage with her
Someone who is willing to keep a crate available to her for as long as she wants which may be forever
Someone who has patience to continue to work with her and help her be the best dog yet
If Susie, sounds like your girl, please put in application in and someone will reach out.
****Please note: Susie came to us with documentation of her name as Shiobhan. But that is a big name for a dog and her foster family felt Susie was a much better fit.

Meet Luna -
Every little Luna needs her sunshine… and maybe a doggy best friend
!
Luna is a sweet little girl who just needs a little help finding her confidence! At around 4 months old, she's still figuring out this big world, and while she can be shy when meeting new people, there's something that really brings her out of her shell… OTHER DOGS! ❤️
Read more about Luna
Luna absolutely adores her canine friends. When she was initially on her own, she was nervous and a bit unsure of herself. But once she had a doggy companion by her side, her personality started to shine! We think Luna would really benefit from having another friendly, confident dog in her forever home to help her continue blossoming.
And don't let her puppy age fool you! Luna is a pretty easygoing little girl. She's happy entertaining herself, loves a good bone, enjoys playing fetch, and doesn't make a peep in her crate. She's learning to walk nicely on a leash and is making great progress with both crate training and potty training.
Luna is looking for a patient, loving family who will give her time to settle in, build her confidence, and discover just how wonderful life can be. A home with another friendly dog would be ideal for this little girl!
Luna has received two vaccines and her rabies vaccine and is waiting with our shelter partner in North Carolina for a foster or adopter to help her make her way to New Jersey.
Could your home be the place where Luna finally feels right at home?

Currently weighing approximately 20–25 pounds, Dalton is expected to grow to around 55–60 pounds. He has a moderate energy level and will enjoy regular exercise, playtime, mental stimulation, and a family who understands that a growing pup needs both structure and affection. He's not housetrained yet, so he'll also need patience and consistency as he learns his new routine.
Dalton is friendly with adults, good with children, and gets along with other dogs. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown. A home with a yard would be ideal for him.
Dalton may not be the dog who simply goes along with everything, but that's part of what makes him special. He's smart, full of personality, and has so much potential. He's looking for someone who sees beyond the stubborn moments and is excited to help him grow into his very best self.
If you love a clever, independent pup with a loyal heart and a personality all his own, Dalton might just be your boy! ❤️
Dalton is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Dalton has been neutered and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $600.
Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.

Read more about Daine
Daine is a smart boy who is already showing off some pretty impressive manners! He's food motivated, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience. He knows how to sit, patiently waits for his signal before eating, and has learned that keeping all four paws on the ground is the way to say hello. He's gentle, affectionate, even-tempered, and enjoys making friends with both people and other dogs.
At approximately 20–25 pounds right now, Daine is still growing and is expected to reach around 60 pounds when fully grown. He has a moderate energy level and would enjoy a family who can provide regular exercise, playtime, continued training, and plenty of opportunities to use that clever mind of his. He's not completely housetrained yet, so he'll need a little patience and consistency as he settles into his new home.
Daine is friendly with adults, good with children, and gets along with other dogs. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown. A home with a yard would be ideal for him to enjoy some outdoor fun.
The best part? Daine doesn't need an experienced dog owner to help him shine. He's eager to please and already has a wonderful foundation of manners to build upon.
If you're looking for a gentle, intelligent, well-mannered sweetheart who is ready to learn and love, Daine is waiting to meet you! ❤️

Adoption Fees: Dogs $100.00 Cats $45.00 Puppies $75 plus $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit Kittens $30 plus $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit Rabbits $35 Adoption Process Our friendly, knowledgable team of staff and volunteers would be glad to give you a tour of the shelter and discuss whether one of our furry friends is the right match for your home. Please click here for our location and visiting hours. The JSAC has careful policies on the placement of young animals, dominant breed dogs (Rottweilers, Shepherds, Akitas, etc) and we give preference to homes in the Eastern PA, New Jersey, Southern New York and Northern Delaware region (please note: we do not ship animals). We prefer homes in the region so that we can be a resource for the animals and their adopters. These policies and procedures are in place to protect everyone involved and are very common when rehoming animals, whether through a shelter or a rescue group. We do not have "same day" adoptions. Rather, an application for an animal is reviewed to ensure that 1) the home has taken good care of their other animals * 2) The animal is permitted in the home and 3) that it is the right home for the right animal (choosing dog that likes cats if cats already in household, etc..). Typically this process takes 24-48 hours. If a dog application is approved and there are other dogs in the home, we have the two (or more) dogs meet; many times if necessary.

Adopting a dog in Lincroft
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
