Babushka is Looking For: Hi! The six of us – Bumbleberry, Booparella, Bonbon, Bixie, Barktholomew, and Babushka – are a pretty adorable bunch and have loved our time together in the puppy pile, but we're ready to split up and find our very own homes. Exciting, right?! We're each looking for a family to call our own, where we can explore the world by the side of our humans, burn off all our puppy energy with fun romps, make new pup pals, and head to dog school to show off how smart we are! In exchange, we promise endless love, puppy kisses, and loyalty for all our days. We can't wait to meet you, forever families! We'll show you our best smiles (unless we're in the middle of a puppy nap, then you might just get our sleepy faces!).
What My Foster Says About Me: Coming coon!
Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.
Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog

7. Toby
Adult · Male · Shih Tzu / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (long coat)

TOBY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Toby Best Guess for Breed: Shitzu / Jack Russell Terrier
Best Guess for Age: 5 years as of Nov 2026 SEX: Male
Approximate Weight: 11.4 lbs
Check out this video of Toby: https://youtube.com/shorts/fnroecSqSvI
Read more about Toby
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have tested Toby with some of the cats at the shelter, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Toby could live with a cat, he has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack. Toby is not recommended for homes with children
Currently Living at: A DC area foster home
Special adoption considerations: Toby is not recommended for homes with children because he can be nippy when afraid or meeting new people.
About Toby: Meet Toby, an adorable 5-year-old Shih Tzu mix who's looking for a second chance at his happily ever after!
Toby was adopted in South Carolina, but just a few weeks later, his world was turned upside down when his adopter suffered an injury that required surgery and could no longer care for him. Through no fault of his own, Toby found himself back in rescue, hoping to find a family to call his own.
Toby is a sweet little guy who just needs a little time to feel comfortable with new people. He can be nervous when first meeting strangers and may nip if he feels scared or overwhelmed. But once he realizes you're a friend, his affectionate personality shines through! Toby warms up quickly and transforms into a loving little cuddle buddy who enjoys being close to his people.
The good news is that Toby gets along great with other dogs! He also did well with cats during his shelter cat test, suggesting he could be a good fit for a home with feline friends.
Because Toby can be fearful and may nip when nervous, he is not recommended for homes with children. He would do best in an adult-only home with patient adopters who understand that some dogs need a little extra time and space to build trust.
Toby has already experienced the disappointment of losing a home, and he's ready for a fresh start. With a little patience, kindness, and plenty of snuggles, this sweet boy will reward his new family with lots of love.
Could you be the one to give Toby the forever home he deserves?
What My Foster Says About Me: We'll update this section when Toby has spent more time with his foster.

LULU NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Lulu Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Best Guess for Age: 2 years SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 8.8lbs as of 10/25

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: PUERTO RICO SHELTER. Needs a forever home or a foster to get her ride to DC!!
Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Lulu would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.
Lulu is Looking For: Her forever family! This very sweet, well-mannered girl is ready to twirl right into the heart of a loving home. She would love leisurely sniffy walks, opportunities to explore her new neighborhood, quality kibble and a soft bed where she can curl up near her favorite people.
She would enjoy plenty of affection, gentle adventures and chances to be included in her family’s daily life. Dog school would help her bond with her new humans while showing them what a clever and polished little lady she is.
Most of all, Lulu is looking for people who will treasure her, keep up with her veterinary care and give her all the love and security she deserves. In exchange, she promises sweetness, lovely manners and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is Lulu ready to take center stage in your home and your heart?

LOUIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Louie Best Guess for Breed: Wire-haired terrier/Dachshund
Best Guess for Age: 7 weeks as of 10/28 SEX: male
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 3 pounds as of 10/28
Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.
Currently Living at: PUERTO RICO SHELTER. Needs a forever home or a foster to get her ride to DC!!
Read more about Louie
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Lacie would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.
Lacie is Looking For: Hi! Me and my littermates - Lacie, Lolie and Lorenzo, have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are ready to split up to get our own homes. I'm looking for one where I get to explore the world by the side of my humans, burn all my young-dog energy in romps, make new pup pals - and go to dog school so I can show how super smart I am! In exchange I promise love and loyalty for all my days.
What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon!
Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.
Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 03/10/27. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date.

HATTIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: HATTIE Best Guess for Breed: LAB MIX

Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 3.9 pounds as of 10/30/26

Read more about Hattie
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
HATTIE is Looking For: Looking for the perfect blend of puppy cuteness? Meet Hockey, Huna, Hattie, and Hudson! These super cute black Lab mixes are the ultimate sweethearts. While they love a good playtime session, they appear to be calm puppies. Whether they are snoozing at your feet or giving soft puppy kisses, this litter is ready to bring a lifetime of loyal companionship to their forever homes in exchange for care, nutrition, and love. The pups are still figuring things out but we think that
-Hockey will like to watch some NHL games on TV with you.

-Hattie is a leader.
-Hudson is an explorer.
There is only one way to find out, really. Come meet them, apply to adopt one of them, take them home, and let us know!

ALEX NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Alex Best Guess for Breed: Husky mix
Best Guess for Age: 2 years SEX: male
Approximate Weight: 46lbs
Read more about Alex
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have tested Alex with some of the cats at the shelter, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Alex could live with a cat, he has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! We haven't seen him with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: Shelter
Alex is Looking For: His forever home! This cutie wants nothing more than to have her own humans for sniffy walks and romps in parks and all the adventures they can dream up - and for snuggles after a fun day together. Making pup pals along the way would be great too. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well but what she wants most of all is to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved. What do you say? Does he have a spot in your home and your heart?
What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon!

Special adoption considerations: GEM is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!

But most of all I want to know I'm safe and loved, where I belong. I have so many kisses and so much love and loyalty to give in return. What do you say? Do I get to go home with you?
What My Foster Says About Me: Yoda is doing great and has started to show some playfulness with his toys! His coat is SO soft and his ears are adorably floppy. Yoda loves hanging out and napping in his crate and slept through the night in there. On our walk he stopped to sniff everything, and then would quickly stop and go back to get another sniff in. I can already tell he's super smart and curious!
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog .

34. Sasha
Puppy · Female · Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat)

SASHA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Sasha Best Guess for Breed: Terrier/chihuahua mix
Best Guess for Age: 7 weeks as of 10/29/26 SEX: Female
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 4 pounds as of 10/29/26
Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.
Currently Living at: Shelter! Needs a foster or forever home.
Read more about Sasha
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure they can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.
Sasha is Looking For: Me and my siblings Stan, Scotty, and Sawyer loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me?
What My Foster Says About Me: We'll update this once this pup has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with their foster.
As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than March 9, 2027. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date.
