2. Shorty

Adult (9 years) · Male · Poodle (Miniature) (medium coat)

Meet Shorty! He is a 9 year old, 16 miniature poodle. Shorty is a happy, affectionate pup who loves making the most of his days! He enjoys going on walks, playing with toys, and especially playing fetch with his stuffed animals. He’s been enjoying two walks a day along with outdoor playtime, so he’d love a home that can give him opportunities to stay active and have fun. Shorty has done well around other dogs and has been friendly with men, women, and children. We’re still learning how he does with cats.

Read more about Shorty

He has a great balance of playful energy and cuddle time. During the day, he enjoys walks and playtime, but in the evenings, he loves curling up on the couch with his person while watching TV. He sleeps peacefully on his own bed through the night, too! Around the house, Shorty is generally a pretty quiet guy. He’ll let you know if he hears something outside or someone approaches the house, but otherwise, he’s happy to hang out. He’s comfortable being picked up, and he walks pretty well on a leash. He does pull a little, and we’re working on his leash manners. He has also shown some reactivity with runners during walks, so that’s something his new family can continue working on with him.

Shorty is an easy eater who happily finishes his meals without any coaxing, making mealtimes and giving him any medication or supplements a breeze. He doesn’t seem to know many commands yet, but he’s very treat-motivated and is already learning to sit. He should be a fun dog to continue training!

Shorty appears to be potty trained, although he has been marking indoors in his foster home, where another dog is present (he’s currently wearing a belly band). If you’re looking for a cheerful, loving companion who enjoys walks and playtime just as much as cozy evenings on the couch, Shorty could be your perfect match. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $300.

Adult (1 year) · Male · French Bulldog / Boston Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Creed! He is a one year old, 25-lbs, half Frenchie, half Boston Terrier, and 100% cuddle nugget. He loves to just be near you and will plop down nearby in whichever room you’re in. He enjoys couch snuggles and will settle down quickly by your side or in your lap. He sleeps well alone in his bed but definitely prefers to be by your side. He is a respectful little shadow. Creed may be a little anxious and cry a bit when left at home alone initially, but he quickly learned his foster mom’s routine within a few days and now just naps in his bed or on the couch while she’s at work. He is also a little protective of his bed, treats, and foster mom around his foster brother. He is working on this but can be corrected and redirected relatively easily. Creed is very trainable and has learned to not bolt out open doors until his foster mom gives the “ok”. He is working on basic commands and has learned “sit” and has almost learned “down”, all in one week! He is:

Ross currently shares his foster home with a small male dog, and the two get along well! He has also shown no aggression toward cats, although his enthusiasm can sometimes get the better of him. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys a good puppy play session, but she's also perfectly content entertaining herself with toys and balls. She loves people of all ages and sizes, making her a wonderful potential addition to a loving family. She hasn't been introduced to cats yet, so we're not sure how she would do with feline friends.

Like any young puppy, Newt is still learning her manners. She can get a little mouthy during playtime, but she's already responding well to gentle redirection. She's also making fantastic progress with potty training! Her foster family takes her outside approximately every hour, and she's doing a great job learning to do her business outdoors. With consistency and patience, we're confident she'll continue to thrive. And here's some especially wonderful news for puppy adopters, Newt sleeps through the night in her crate! She also takes her daytime naps there and settles herself nicely, even if she occasionally protests with a little whining at first. She's doing well with short periods away from her people, especially when she's had plenty of playtime and exercise beforehand. Newt loves going for walks and is great on a leash. She is not reactive to other dogs at all!

20. PeeWee

Adult (6 years 2 months) · Male · Beagle / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat)

Meet PeeWee! PeeWee is an adorable 14-pound Beagle/Dachshund mix with big, beautiful eyes that will melt your heart! This sweet and gentle little guy has been through a lot, but he's learning that the world isn't such a scary place after all.

PeeWee came to us from a frightening shelter environment, and understandably, he was a little scared and unsure of people at first. When approached, he would sometimes growl because he didn't know who to trust. But since settling into his foster home, PeeWee has been blossoming into the wonderful dog we knew he could be!

Read more about PeeWee

Now that he's had time to decompress and feel safe, PeeWee is showing off his curious, playful, and affectionate personality. He loves exploring his surroundings and enjoys snuggling up next to his foster parents on the couch. He's also doing great with the three small Chihuahuas in his foster home! Whether they're wrestling, chasing balls, or simply relaxing together on a comfy pillow, PeeWee is happy to join in.

PeeWee is still learning some of the basics, including walking on a leash and going potty outside. With a little patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, we're confident he'll continue making great progress.

Because of his sensitive nature and past experiences, PeeWee would do best in a calm, patient home without children or large dogs. A family who will give him the time and space to build trust, along with plenty of love and encouragement, will be rewarded with a truly special companion.

PeeWee has already come so far in such a short time, and we can't wait to see him continue to blossom in a forever home of his own. If you're looking for a sweet little companion with soulful eyes and a heart full of love, PeeWee just might be your perfect match! He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $300.

21. Kody

Senior (12 years 2 months) · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Kody! Kody is a 12-year-old, 9 lb. Chihuahua with a sweet, social personality and an adorably goofy charm. His tail seems to wag nonstop, and he happily greets just about everyone he meets. Kody is good with adults, kids, dogs and cats, and on walks he’ll stroll right up to new friends with his tail wagging.

For a senior gentleman, Kody still has plenty of pep in his step! He enjoys a daily walk of about three-quarters of a mile, moves at his own pace and keeps up beautifully. He walks well on leash and would be happy with or without a yard as long as he gets regular opportunities to explore outside.

Read more about Kody

Kody is also a serious cuddle bug. He loves belly rubs, enjoys being close to his people and is incredibly gentle when taking treats or other things from your hand. He is easygoing about being handled and has shown himself to be a trusting little guy.

Kody appears to have some separation anxiety and may whine when left alone, so he would do best with a patient family who can help him feel secure and comfortable when his people are away. He is also working on his potty habits. Kody understands that outside is the place to go, but he has had some accidents and occasional marking indoors. His foster is currently using a consistent potty schedule and a belly band indoors to help reinforce good habits.

Like many senior pups, Kody may be experiencing some vision loss, but he gets around well and doesn’t let it slow him down. He is not a big fan of the crate and may be happiest in a home where crating is not heavily relied upon.

Kody gets along well with other dogs, although he can occasionally get a little possessive of his person when he’s soaking up attention. He responds to boundaries and settles quickly. It is best to separate Kody during mealtime so he has his food all to himself. Kody tends to be dog selective and would likely do best as the only dog in the home.

Overall, Kody is a sweet, affectionate, social little senior who still has lots of love—and plenty of tail wags—to give. If you’re looking for a cuddly companion who enjoys leisurely walks, belly rubs and being by your side, Kody may be your perfect match.

Kody is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $200.

22. Sully

Adult (7 years 2 months) · Male · Dachshund / Beagle / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Sully! Sully is a 7-year-old, 23-pound Dachshund/Beagle mix with plenty of energy and personality packed into those short little legs! If you’re looking for an active walking buddy, Sully may be your guy. In his foster home, he’s averaging about five miles of walking a day—and still has energy left to play ball before and after! Sully absolutely loves chasing balls and bringing them back for another throw. He walks beautifully on leash and is not dog reactive. He currently lives peacefully with other Dachshunds and is friendly and curious when meeting most new people. Like many hounds, Sully does have a strong prey drive, so a home without cats or other small animals is a must.

Read more about Sully

Lizards and rodents are also very exciting in Sully’s world! At home, Sully loves being close to his people. When it’s time to relax, he’ll happily settle beside you, and at bedtime, he much prefers snuggling up with his humans rather than sleeping in a crate. He knows sit, down, and stay, although he may wiggle a little closer if he suspects more treats are coming! Sully is fully potty trained. Sully also has a lot to say! He can be very vocal when he wants something, so he would not be a good fit for an apartment, condo, or home with shared walls. If you’re looking for a fun, active, affectionate companion with a big personality, Sully is ready to find his forever family! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. Senior (10 years 1 month) · Male · Shih Tzu (medium coat)

Meet Chewy! Chewy is a 10-year-old, 9 lb. Shih Tzu who may technically be a senior, but you’d never know it from his energy! This happy little guy has the enthusiasm of a much younger pup and loves being right in the middle of whatever is going on.

Chewy is incredibly affectionate, friendly, and loves being close to his people. He gets along wonderfully with everyone he meets and is also great with other dogs, making him an easy addition to a home with canine companions. He loves being part of the pack and will happily follow his people around the house, always ready for attention, affection, or the next adventure.

Read more about Chewy

Potty training is still a work in progress, and Chewy previously did some marking, but he is already showing great improvement with consistency and routine. He may not have any teeth, but that certainly doesn’t slow him down! He happily eats wet food with a little kibble mixed in and keeps up with the household routine just fine.

Sweet, social, energetic, and full of personality, Chewy is a wonderful little companion who has plenty of love and life left to share. If you’re looking for an affectionate best friend who gets along with people and dogs alike, Chewy just might be your guy!

24. Johnny

Young (8 months) · Male · Retriever / Basset Hound / Mixed

Meet Johnny! He is an 8 month old, 35 lb. Retriever/Basset Hound mix. Johnny is a sweet, gentle pup with a heart of gold who is looking for a patient, loving home. While he can be a bit shy and hesitant when meeting new people outside the house, his quiet and tender nature shines through as soon as he feels safe. He rarely barks, gets along wonderfully with cats, and is playful with other dogs. Johnny thrives on companionship: he prefers to spend most of his day hanging out by your side, sleeping right next to you, and working through his separation anxiety. He is actively working on his potty training, but he usually goes outside for his regular bathroom breaks 2 to 3 times a day.

Read more about Johnny

He is also working on his crate training and learning how to feel comfortable being home by himself. Johnny loves going on long walks or hikes, though loud noises or sudden passersby can occasionally startle him. Overall, Johnny is an exceptionally sweet, loyal boy who will make a deeply loving companion for a peaceful household. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $350. A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. 25. Xander

Young (1 year 3 months) · Male · German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Xander

He is a 1year old, 76 lb. Shepherd mix. Xander is a strikingly handsome boy with an incredibly sweet and affectionate personality. If you’re looking for a loving companion who wants to be by your side, Xander may be your guy. He is cuddly, affectionate, and genuinely loves his people.

Read more about Xander

Xander has been doing wonderfully in his foster home and is showing us just how smart and eager to learn he is. He is potty trained, does well when left home alone, and has made great progress learning basic manners like “sit” and “down.” He is still working on keeping all four paws on the floor and not putting his front paws up on counters, doors, and other tempting surfaces. He’s a big, enthusiastic boy, so he’ll need a patient adopter who is willing to continue working with him on his manners. We’re confident that with consistency and positive reinforcement, he’ll pick things up quickly.

Xander does great with other dogs and enjoys going on walks. He is a very nice leash walker and loves getting out and exploring. He is also an excellent car rider! He happily jumps into the car, settles into his car seat, and lays down while looking out the window like a seasoned road-trip buddy.

Because of his size, we recommend a home without very young children. Xander has done wonderfully with the foster family’s 10-year-old son, but we think older children who understand how to give a dog space while eating would be the best fit.

Xander is a big, beautiful, loving dog who has so much potential. He is smart, affectionate, social, and eager to be part of a family. He doesn’t need a perfect home, just a patient one that will continue helping him learn and grow. In return, you’ll get an incredibly sweet companion who is ready to give you plenty of love. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $300.

Theo is fully potty trained and crate trained and settles easily into a household routine. He walks beautifully on leash, staying right by your side, and is happy to keep pace whether you're enjoying a leisurely stroll or heading out for a jog. He also rides wonderfully in the car, making him an ideal road trip buddy!

Read more about Theo

Theo loves being with his people and has made an excellent work-from-home coworker. He can be a little shy when first meeting someone, but once he's comfortable, his affectionate personality shines through. Theo is remarkably quiet, well behaved, and incredibly sweet. He'd be a wonderful family dog or an equally great companion for an adult household that enjoys walks, adventures, and having a loyal German Shepherd by their side.
