3. Pebbles
Young (5 months 28 days) · Female · Boxer / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 35 mi from Pensacola

Meet Pebbles, a three-legged superstar with a heart full of love and a whole lot of life left to live! This 6-month-old Boxer/Pit mix has already overcome more than any puppy should have to, but you would never know it from her happy-go-lucky personality.
Read more about Pebbles
We believe Pebbles was hit by a car before she came into our care. She had a severe fracture near her elbow that couldn't be repaired, so amputation was necessary. She also had an old jaw fracture that has healed nicely on its own. Now that she's no longer dealing with a painful leg, Pebbles is feeling fantastic! She runs, plays, and gets around just fine with no mobility issues. Three legs certainly haven't slowed this girl down!
Pebbles is a smart cookie who already knows how to sit and is eager to keep learning. She loves other dogs and does well with cats and kids, too. She's kennel trained and leash trained, and she's the kind of girl who wants to stick close to her people rather than run off on her own. Wherever her favorite humans go, Pebbles wants to be part of the adventure!
Pebbles is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on prevention. Her adoption fee is $200.
This special girl has already shown just how resilient she is. Now she deserves a family who will see past her missing leg and recognize the wonderful, playful, loving puppy she is. If you're looking for a loyal companion who is ready to run, play, learn, and love, Pebbles is waiting to meet you!
If you are interested in adopting, please go to straylovefoundation.org and fill out an adoption application.

6. Beau
Young (1 year) · Male · Hound (short coat) · 35 mi from Pensacola

Meet Beau-Beau is a lively, full‑blooded hound with a big personality packed into his 33-pound frame. At just one year old, he’s energetic, curious, and always ready for his next adventure. He’s house-trained, knows how to sit for treats, and enjoys playing fetch, even if he loses interest once he’s had his fun. He doesn’t have a favorite toy yet — he’s far more interested in exploring the world around him.
Beau walks well on a leash but tends to pull when he catches an exciting scent, which is no surprise for a young hound who’s always on the hunt. He loves to run like the wind, play with other dogs, and be part of an active environment. He’s kid-friendly and social, though his experience with cats is still unknown.
This busy boy would thrive with a family who appreciates the hound temperament — spirited, affectionate, and endlessly curious. Beau is ready to bring joy, energy, and plenty of love to a home that can keep up with his adventurous nature.
If you are interested in adopting, please go to straylovefoundation.org and fill out an adoption application. Each of our rescues will be COMPLETELY vetted and/or updated, which includes a heartworm test, worming, spay/neutered, vaccines, and micro-chipping.

9. Motley
Young (4 months 28 days) · Male · Hound / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat) · 61 mi from Pensacola

Motley is a 5-month-old, 30-pound silly boy with a look all his own: white spots paired with brindle-striped legs make him one of a kind.
He's full of puppy fun, but a walk around the neighborhood, a play session with other dogs, or a game of tug of war is all it takes to wear him out, and then he's ready to settle in. He's a great fit for someone who wants a playful, happy pup without nonstop energy.
He's already house and crate trained. He gets along with other dogs and loves a good treat filled toy. Cats are still a mystery to him: he's equal parts scared and amazed by them, but has not shown aggression towards the ones in his foster home.

Our local (Mobile AL area) adoption fee is $175 and includes neuter, vaccines and microchip. He is available for Northeast US. 11. Darla
Adult · Female · Terrier / Mixed · 61 mi from Pensacola

Darla is two years old and an absolute darling with a sweet, gentle personality. She loves to play, but she’s also perfectly content curling up on the couch for a long, cozy nap.
Darla is a little sad right now. She was found dumped on a dirt road and doesn’t understand why she was abandoned or why her family left her behind. She can be timid and shy at first, so she may need a little patience and reassurance while she learns to trust again. We were surprised to learn that Darla is heartworm negative!

Mollie is a gorgeous blue merle Catahoula mix, approximately 3–5 years old and 35–40ish lbs. When she first arrived, this poor girl was absolutely terrified. Despite how scared she was, she remained incredibly sweet and never showed any aggression.

Mollie is absolutely thriving in her foster home! She loves exploring the farm, playing with her foster siblings, and then settling in for some cuddles on the couch. She is great with dogs of all sizes AND cats. She doesn’t mind children, but we feel an older, calmer household would likely be the best fit for her personality.

How this girl survived years on the streets through freezing temperatures and snow, the extreme summer heat, traffic, vehicles, and everything else she encountered is beyond us. She is one tough girl! ❤️
Rebecca has now been fully vetted and spayed, and little by little, she is learning how to be a dog and discovering what the good life is all about.
ABOUT REBECCA:
Lab mix
Approximately 3–5 years old
Around 40 lbs.
Shy at first, but oh-so-sweet
Great with dogs of all sizes
Doesn’t mind a kennel
Uses a doggy door
Loves being comfy on the couch
Has SO much love to give!
Rebecca will need a patient, understanding family who will give her the time she needs to adjust to a new home, routine, and environment. After spending so much of her life surviving on the streets, learning to trust takes time — but this girl is absolutely worth it. ❤️
She deserves to finally know what it feels like to have a family of her very own.
This rescue was truly a GROUP EFFORT. It takes a village, and we have the BEST! We are incredibly thankful to every volunteer, street feeder, Animal Control officer, shelter employee, foster, and supporter who played a part in getting Rebecca to safety.
Now there is only ONE thing missing from her story…
❤️ HER FOREVER HOME! ❤️
If you can give Rebecca the patient, loving home she has waited YEARS for, please submit an adoption application!

16. Daisy
Adult · Female · Beagle / Mixed (short coat) · 68 mi from Pensacola

UPDATE!!✨
I spent my life being neglected… but somehow, I never stopped believing people could be good.
“Hello, my name is Daisy.
I’m a calm, gentle girl who is approximately 5 years old. I was abandoned in a rural area of West Mobile, where I was found emaciated, starving and desperately in need of someone to care.
Thankfully, my foster parents found me, brought me home, filled my belly, gave me a bath and showed me kindness. Since then, I’ve slowly started letting my little personality shine through. ❤️
Read more about Daisy
I’m still a quiet, sweet girl who absolutely loves attention. The second I hear my foster parents’ voices, my tail starts wagging. It doesn’t take much to make me happy—I’m just grateful to finally know what it feels like to be cared for.
I’m also your classic Beagle! If I catch the scent of a squirrel or rabbit trail, that Beagle nose immediately goes to work!
I do well with my foster siblings, a Frenchie and a Jack Russell, and I don’t mind cats either. My foster family has children who can sometimes be loud and energetic, and that doesn’t bother me.
More than anything, I’m looking for someone calm, patient and kind.
My foster family believes I probably spent most, if not all, of my life living outside and being neglected. I don’t know why that was the life I was given, but despite everything I’ve been through, I still trust. I still love. And I still want a family of my own.
I’m ready to learn what it means to be someone’s beloved dog instead of the dog who was forgotten.
I don’t need anything fancy. I just need someone willing to show me the compassion, love and companionship I should have had all along.
❤️ Will you be the person who finally gives me my chance? ❤️”
PLEASE SHARE DAISY! Somewhere out there is the family she has been waiting her whole life to find.

We do all in our power to assure our rescues are as healthy as possible and live a long happy life. There is always a chance that an animal we have rescued will have a genetic health issue (since they are rescues there is know way that we can know their family history) or one of our tests falls in that low percentage of false negative category or a they contract a rare disease that we have no way of knowing about or they contract under your care. We cannot guarantee 100% that your pet will live the 15 to 20 years we hope for but with all that we do for them,
the chances are incredibly strong that they will.
Transportation fees, when applicable, vary by distance/expense.
Home checks may be conducted.
We are asking for adoption donation of $198.
On most animals, a tax-deductible adoption donation of $198 is required upon approved adoption application. (This is a fraction of our vet expenses and you are always welcome to donate more.) HOWEVER, when we rescue a special breed, ridiculously adorable, or unusual color, we ask for a higher donation which helps towards our vet expenses.

Adult (3 years 3 months) · Female · American Bulldog / Staffordshire Bull Terrier (short coat) · 16 mi from Pensacola

Meet Polly!
After ending up a pregnant stray, delivering her puppies in the shelter, getting in a wreck the next day on her way to her foster, and then losing all of her puppies by 3 weeks old to canine herpes virus, this amazing momma deserves a fresh start, beginning with a new name. Polly Esther is now Polly Pocket to fit her perfect squatty self. Polly was born around 6/2/23.

Polly is such a sweet girl and has never met a stranger. She is so resilient and hasn’t let anything that she’s been through bring her down. Now that she’s no longer mommin, her silly personality is starting to shine. She loves to hoard toys in her kennel, although so far she only plays with them with a human. If you like to garden, she’s your girl. After discovering the little watermelon growing, she now checks on it every time she goes outside. This girl is all around fabulous, and whoever adopts her will hit the jackpot! Polly is also good with cats and does not need to be kenneled!

Adult (3 years 4 months) · Female · German Shorthaired Pointer / Mixed (long coat) · 68 mi from Pensacola

UPDATE!✨
Read more about Libby Lou
Libby Lou is a German wire-haired pointer mix. She is approximately one and half years old. Her previous owner’s housing situation has changed and she is unable to keep her. Libby loves dogs of all sizes and children of all ages. She has been around a variety of dogs and is very submissive to others. Due to her being a mix of two hunting dogs, cats and smaller mammals (not including dogs) are not a good fit for her. She needs a secured fence and if she had her way she would spend her days outside laying in the sun. She is used to a dog door, but she has been okay the past few months spending her days inside. Libby loves to go on long walks and playing with her toys in the yard. She misses the concept of fetch, but she will gladly trot to the toy and play with it where it lands. Libby is a cuddle bug, and most would say she has the personality to be a service animal with her calm demeanor. She is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and spayed.

Why adopt an adult dog in Pensacola
An adult dog's personality is fully formed, so the rescue can tell you how they are with people, other pets and busy households. Many have lived in foster homes and are already house-trained.
Grown dogs need less supervision than puppies and often know the basics, like sitting and walking on a leash, which suits people who work or have young children.
