1. Toby
Senior (7 years 11 months) · Male · Beagle · 22 mi from Plymouth

8 YEARS OF LOVE, ONE BROKEN HEART, AND A WHOLE LOT OF BEAGLE LEFT TO GIVE. MEET TOBY!
Toby wasn't supposed to be looking for a new family at 8 years old.
This sweet Beagle boy had a home. He had a person. He had a life he knew and loved. But sadly, when his beloved owner passed away, Toby's entire world changed overnight.
Now, at 8 years young, Toby is searching for someone to love him through the next chapter of his life.
And trust us, this handsome little guy has SO much love left to give!
A LITTLE ABOUT TOBY!
Age: 8 years young, with plenty of Beagle charm!
Read more about Toby
Dog friendly: Yes! Toby gets along with other dogs and would be happy to have canine companions!
Cat friendly: Absolutely! This sweet boy is good with feline friends, too!
Personality: Toby is an incredibly sweet boy who is understandably feeling a little confused and anxious right now. After losing his person and everything familiar, who could blame him? He just needs a patient, loving family to help him feel safe and secure again.
Fitness goals: Let's just say Toby has been enjoying the good life a LITTLE too much. He's currently sporting some extra Beagle fluff and will need a family committed to helping him shed a few pounds at a safe, healthy pace.
Think leisurely walks, appropriate portions, and a whole lot of encouragement. Toby is officially entering his fitness era!
But here's the thing about Toby.
He doesn't know he's considered a senior.
He doesn't know he's carrying a few extra pounds.
And he certainly doesn't understand why the person he loved isn't coming home.
All he knows is that his world has changed, and he's waiting for someone to make it feel right again.
Toby doesn't need a perfect family. He just needs a family who will love him.
Someone who understands that adjusting takes time. Someone who will celebrate the little victories as his confidence returns. Someone who will give him the security of knowing he's finally home again.
At 8 years old, Toby deserves more than uncertainty. He deserves cozy beds, sniff-filled walks, gentle affection, and a family who will cherish every single day with him.
His first chapter was filled with love. Let's make sure his next chapter is, too.

2. Dior
Adult · Male · French Bulldog · 17 mi from Plymouth

Say hello to Dior, an almost 3-year-old French Bulldog with a big personality packed into 23 pounds of brindle perfection! This silly little guy loves being wherever his people are, following you from room to room, soaking up affection, and making sure you always know what he’s thinking with his signature Frenchie grumbles. He’s a total sweetheart who loves to be held and included in all the daily activities. He does have a preference for having his people around. He isn't a fan of being crated when everyone is home and would much rather be out enjoying their company. He may whine briefly in his crate when he's ready to be done or hears people moving around, but he settles down quickly.
Read more about Dior
He can also let out a few short, fairly mild barks when he hears cars, neighbors, or other noises. He isn't typically a prolonged barker when left alone.Dior would love a home where someone is around more often than not and where he can be part of the family. He would appreciate a family who enjoys a little playtime indoors and a couple of short, leisurely walks each day. Due to his current breathing limitations, walks should be kept short with plenty of breaks.Like many French Bulldogs, Dior needs a little extra attention when it comes to his skin. Regular medicated baths and skin moisturizers will be important to keep him comfortable, and he may need seasonal Apoquel if his dry skin isn't adequately controlled. He will also be on a contract for his nares (nostril) and soft palate surgery. His breathing currently limits his exercise, so his adopter should be prepared to continue being mindful of his activity and comfort.Dior is a goofy, affectionate, slightly grumbly little companion who just wants to be loved and included. He has so much personality, so much sweetness, and so much love to give. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who will make you laugh, keep you company, and happily accept all the cuddles you have to offer, Dior might just be your guy!If you are interested in Dior, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. 4. Toby easy going lowrider
Adult (5 years) · Male · Basset Hound / Beagle / Mixed (short coat) · 5 mi from Plymouth

Watch Toby easy going lowrider's video
Toby is a basset/beagle mix. He is around 5yrs old. He had a rough start in life, coming from an abusive situation we were told. For this reason, he can be leery of men, will growl when first meeting them, but hasn't bitten anyone. He needs someone who understands his past and goes slow and doesn't push his limits/scare him. Would do best with older children if they are in home, so they too can understand his situation/past. He is settling into his foster home and got neutered and vetted. So far he has shown to love car rides, likes to let his long ears and jowls flap in the wind (: He has meet and played with other foster dogs, males/females that are medium to large in size and has been playful and respectful of them. He also meet some foster kittens and didn't know what to think of their craziness. When they hissed at him, he did howl at them and scare them, but he seems like he would get along just fine with cats once he learns some boundaries with them. He does pull on a leash, do best with harness, his hound nose leads the way. He loves, loves, loves treats! He has been doing well with male in the home, taking treats and getting butt scratches from his foster mom's husband. He really has been a great dog per his foster mom and when everyone met him at vet clinic they were just swooning over him and his cuteness!!!

About MeHello there, friends! My name is Zyggy, and I am the bundle of fun and sunshine you’ve been missing! I’m the life of every party—trust me on that! I’m spunky, full of energy, super smart, and, as you can clearly see, cute as a button! I’m great with every animal and human I meet. I’m currently working on my potty training and doing sooooo good! I’m also crate trained, although if I had my way, I’d much rather be hanging out with my people. Even though I’m a little guy, I can handle stairs like a champ! I’m not leash trained just yet, but I’m a smart boy, so I’m sure I’ll master that in no time.

6. Delilah
Adult · Female · German Shepherd Dog / Terrier / Mixed · 17 mi from Plymouth

Meet Delilah, a gentle, easygoing girl whose idea of a perfect day involves belly rubs, cozy couch time, and being surrounded by people who love her! This 4-year-old German Shepherd mix weighs 70 pounds and has a heart as big as her love for snuggling. Delilah is a true couch potato who would much rather relax with her favorite humans than go on a long hike or run a marathon. She enjoys leisurely walks, especially when there is plenty of time to sniff and explore and is happy with a couple of short walks each day.Delilah is wonderful with children of all ages and is calm, patient, and gentle when little ones come by to pet her.
Read more about Delilah
She also gets along with other dogs, especially those who are laid-back and respectful of her space. She enjoys playful outings with canine friends but prefers not to roughhouse, and rowdy, reactive, or overly enthusiastic dogs can make her feel nervous. She has also lived with cats in foster homes and reportedly ignores them, making her a potential fit for a home with feline friends. At home, Delilah is quiet, house-trained, and wonderfully content to spend an evening lounging on the couch with her people. She loves belly rubs, affection, and kibble, and she’s recently started discovering the fun of toys! She’s still learning how to play and beginning to get the hang of it. She may not climb into your lap, but she will happily rest her head or a paw against you to stay close. Just be prepared to share the couch, because Delilah is perfectly capable of claiming the whole thing!Delilah does have some separation anxiety and takes medication to help manage it. She may get into a little mischief while you're away, such as relocating your shoes, but she does not need to be glued to your side. She simply likes knowing someone is home and can eventually settle down for a nap when left alone. She is not crate-trained and is uncomfortable with being crated, so her future family should be prepared to accommodate her without relying on a crate. And one more thing about this princess: Delilah is not a fan of wet paws! A little drizzle may earn you a very judgmental look as she wonders why anyone would expect her to venture outside in such conditions. She will happily wait for better weather if given the choice.Delilah would love a home where she can enjoy plenty of companionship, gentle affection, and a relaxed daily routine. A family with multiple people would be especially nice, and another calm, compatible dog could be a bonus, though she doesn't need a canine companion to be happy. If you're looking for a sweet, low-key friend who will happily trade adventure-filled days for cozy evenings and endless belly rubs, Delilah might just be your girl!If you are interested in Delilah, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. 7. River
Adult (5 years) · Male · Great Dane / Mixed · 22 mi from Plymouth

Meet River a 5 year old Dane X. River is a gentle giant with a heart as big as he is. This cat-loving Great Dane mix has white twinkle toes and a lover’s soul through and through.
River is on his way to us from Louisiana, where there are far too many dogs and very few humans who care. The dogs there are just trying to survive each day, with only the rescuers to look out for them. River has been waiting in rescue for his forever home for far too long, and he is exactly the kind of dog UDR strives to help.
Read more about River
When he arrives, River will be fostered in a home with other Danes, so he’ll have friends to enjoy and keep him company. He is crate and house trained, rock solid, and has truly been there, done that. He will be going through heartworm treatment once he is with us, but we don’t want him to wait any longer. We would love to find his happily ever after soon, even while he is in treatment. River has spent his life far to long waiting and we know moving him to our rescue was the right thing for him. Let's find him a forever home. He is so deserving!!!!
If you adopt River, you will probably say you don’t understand why he wasn’t scooped up by another family. And you will be so thankful it was you. Interested in meeting River? www.uniteddobermanrescue.org

8. Candi
Adult (3 years 10 months) · Female · Greyhound · 11 mi from Plymouth

Calling anyone with a sweet tooth! True to my name, my foster family reports that I am a very sweet girl who loves her naps (I take my retirement very seriously). Slippery floors still make me nervous, and I am still a little unsure about walks (but I am still learning the ropes). Long walks/hikes are probably not for me- I would prefer to spend my days inside snoozing on a comfy dog bed or in my kennel. In fact, I will do my business outside very quickly so I can get back into bed! I am excitedly cautious about meeting new people, but my foster family reports that overall I seem to do well with people, other dogs, and can be redirected away from cats/small animals. Do you need a little "Candi" in your life?

9. Beretta
Adult (3 years 10 months) · Female · Greyhound · 11 mi from Plymouth

Beretta's the name, and loving people and walks is the game! My foster family reports that I am a very sweet and friendly girl. I am always super excited when I get a chance to meet new new people and new dogs. I enjoy going on a good walk where I can sniff all of the things. I would love to chase small furry animals on walks, so a home without cats or small animals would be best. I am still working on learning how to go up long flights of stairs and being left alone in my kennel, but I do enjoy relaxing in my kennel when people are home during the day. I just love people and want to be with them as much as possible! If you're looking for a velcro dog, I'm your girl!

10. Luli
Adult (3 years 1 month) · Female · Greyhound · 11 mi from Plymouth

Hi, I'm Luli! My foster family reports that I am a very sweet, quiet girl who enjoys a good backyard play session with my canine foster siblings. I tend to follow the humans around the house to keep an eye on them. I adore attention, and will make it easy for you to pet me by laying my head on you. I am a little hesitant with slippery floors and prefer to have a rug or carpet under my feet, but my foster family is working on this with me. I don't have a super high prey drive- I like to look at the small creatures, but not lunge. I currently live with two cats that I do very well with, and I enjoy resting in my kennel. My foster family reports that I do very well on leash and would love to go on long walks. Will you be my walking buddy?

13. Murphy
Adult (2 years 8 months) · Male · Cockapoo / Mixed (long coat) · 8 mi from Plymouth

Meet Murphy! Your New Best Friend and Professional Cuddle Buddy! ❤️
If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, playful companion who will always be by your side, Murphy might just be your guy!
Murphy is a happy, confident, loving boy who absolutely adores his people. Whether he's snoozing on a dog bed next to your desk while you work, carrying around his favorite toy, joining you for a walk, or snuggling up on the couch at the end of the day, Murphy's favorite place is wherever you are. He's a true little shadow who will happily keep you company and make sure you never feel lonely!
Read more about Murphy
Murphy is a fun combination of playful and laid-back. He enjoys toys, fetch, squeaky plushies, snuffle mats, and especially spending quality time with his humans. He's energetic and enjoys getting out for walks and playtime, but once he's had some exercise, he's more than happy to settle in and relax. He also loves exploring the world with his nose, so leisurely sniff-filled walks are right up his alley! A fenced-in yard would be a wonderful bonus.
He's fully potty trained, leash trained, and a smart boy who is eager to learn. He already knows "sit" and "shake" and is working on improving his recall. He's also friendly and confident when meeting new people and is always happy to accept attention from anyone willing to give it!
Murphy gets along well with other dogs, although he generally prefers playing with his human friends. He's also very cat-savvy! He hasn't been around children, so a proper introduction and assessment would be important. One thing to know is that Murphy can be protective of high-value treats like bones around other dogs, so he'll need his own space to enjoy those special goodies.
Murphy's biggest challenge is being away from his people. He struggles with separation anxiety and can bark persistently when left alone, even when other dogs are present. His ideal home would be with someone who works from home, is retired, or otherwise spends most of their time at home. He is working on building confidence with alone time, and he'll need a patient family willing to continue helping him with that. Car rides can also make him anxious, although he enjoys feeling the breeze when the weather is nice!
At the end of the day, Murphy isn't asking for much. He just wants a family to love, a cozy spot to nap, toys to play with, walks to sniff, and plenty of opportunities to be close to his favorite people.
If you're looking for a devoted companion who will be your shadow, your cuddle buddy, your walking partner, and your very best friend, Murphy is ready to meet you! ❤️
Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.

15. Scooby
Adult (5 years) · Male · Doberman Pinscher · 22 mi from Plymouth

Scooby was saved with just HOURS LEFT after landing on the euthanasia list. This handsome boy was running out of time, but someone saw that his life was worth saving. Now, we get to show the world what an incredible dog he truly is. And honestly? Scooby might just be the whole package. This boy is potty trained, knows how to listen, follows directions, and is eager to learn. He’s treat-motivated and can pick up new commands in just 2–3 repetitions when treats are involved. He walks beautifully off leash with his person and enjoys getting out for adventures, including hikes. Scooby gets along with other dogs when given slow, proper introductions.
Read more about Scooby
He’s also living proof that a big dog doesn’t have to make a big fuss about everything. He ignores his foster’s chickens and remains calm around other animals, even when other dogs are barking. When something catches his attention on a hike, he’ll stop and observe until he’s satisfied there’s no threat rather than immediately reacting. Inside the home? He’s a dream. Scooby isn’t destructive, enjoys a good chew stick, and simply wants to be near his person. But here’s where this big guy will steal your heart… Scooby is a certified LOVE BUG. He wants to be petted on his nose and head all day, every day. He’s happiest just being close to his human, soaking up affection and reminding you that sometimes the best part of life is having a loyal companion by your side. Think about it. A dog who listens, learns quickly, enjoys adventures, can coexist peacefully with other animals, knows his manners, and wants nothing more than to love his people. This is the dog who was almost out of time. Scooby deserved more than the final hours he was given. He deserved a chance to be someone's best friend, hiking buddy, couch companion, and forever shadow. Now he needs someone to give him the one thing rescue cannot promise forever: a home of his own. Could that be you? If you're looking for a wonderful companion to welcome into your life, please consider Scooby. He has so much love to give, and his next chapter deserves to be filled with safety, adventures, affection, and the promise that he will never have to wonder if his time is running out again. Watch Blair sweetest, calm hound's videos (2)
Blair is a 6yr old female hound. We were told she is a purebred bluetick. She has lived with the same family since she was a puppy, but at no fault of her own, she is coming into rescue. Does well with all adults and children! Ignores cats. She is a very sweet dog. Enjoys being outside, but also loves cuddling and napping. She has never hunted. She has some of the longest ears we have ever seen! So velvety soft, how can you resist!!! She is very calm for being a hound. You can tell her "I love youuuuuuuuuuuu" and she will respond with a low, pitched howl back telling you she loves you too, so adorable!! Her foster mom has nothing but good to say about her!!!! She was a star when she visited resident's at the local nursing home for Halloween dressed as a big spider!

17. Bella Help I need a foster home
Adult (8 years) · Female · Labrador Retriever / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 5 mi from Plymouth

Watch Bella Help I need a foster home's videos (3)
Bella is approximately eight years old (maybe younger) and is likely a Labrador mix. She listens well, does amazing with a two year old son, (in the advocates home) and she is good with dogs. She does seem to leave cats alone. Bella is crate trained. If you can see the video it does look like Bella loves to play!
Bella lived her whole life outside in a kennel and a family friend would throw bags of dog food over and left them for her every couple weeks. The lady abandoned her with an elderly lady who couldn’t walk out to the kennel she was kept in. She is the sweetest thing ever, despite being neglected.

26. Beijing
Young (4 months 6 days) · Male · Labrador Retriever / Rottweiler / Mixed (medium coat) · 7 mi from Plymouth

Meet Beijing — the sweetest boy who wants to give you all of his kisses! Beijing is a 4-month old Rottweiler/Lab mix. He is very smart and has a lot of energy to share!
Beijing is an affectionate little guy who just wants to be close to his people. Whether inside or outside, he will be your loyal companion. He is always ready for ear massages and belly rubs. He is ready to be your snuggle buddy.
Read more about Beijing
He’s house trained, crate trained, and loves having space to run, play, and let out his abundant puppy energy! At this stage of puppyhood, he still needs a productive outlet for chewing, so the more chew toys and toys to keep his brain busy, the better! We have been working on walking with a leash, and he is a fast learner. With more practice, he will be a great walker. A fenced yard would be great for him to get all of his energy out! But once Beijing decides it is “bedtime,” he will go right into his kennel and sleep through the night!
On our walks, we haven’t introduced Beijing to other dogs yet. He has politely noticed them and would like to make friends. He might do well in a home with other dogs to play with, but with enough exercise and attention, he would be a good solo dog too.
Beijing has a lot of love to give his fur-ever family!

27. Bali
Young (4 months 4 days) · Male · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat) · 7 mi from Plymouth

Meet Bali!
Look at that face! Bali is a sweet 4-month-old golden-red boy ready to find his forever home, and he’s already won over everyone he’s met.
Personality: Bali is a total love bug who adores every person and every dog he meets. Strangers are just friends he hasn’t cuddled yet! With his big, soulful eyes and a head tilt that will melt your heart, he’s hard to resist.
Size: At 23 pounds, Bali is a little chunk, and growing fast. He’s got that sturdy, solid puppy build, with a white bib and sweet floppy ears that haven’t quite decided whether to stand up yet.
Read more about Bali
Motivation: Bali is food-, treat-, and toy-motivated, which makes training a breeze. Bring on the snacks, and he’ll happily work for them!
Routines: He’s kennel trained and sleeps quietly through the night for 7-9 hours, so you can actually get some rest. Potty training is a work in progress, and he’s learning a little more every day. With consistency and plenty of praise, he’ll get there. Bali loves getting in the car & sits nicely in a bed in the backseat. He confidently jumps in & out of the car, and walks really well on-leash for his age! He is also starting to bell-train at the back door and will always go outside to potty when he is given the command. #2 is a little more difficult, but he has been nudging the bells or sits and waits by the back door. I think he will be really easy to fully potty train, as he is very intelligent.
Perfect for: Active families, singles, or couples who want a social, affectionate companion. Bali would do great with other dogs in the home, and he’s ready for puppy classes, long walks, and lots of couch snuggles (he’s already mastered the cozy blanket spot!).
If you’re looking for a cuddly, easygoing pup with a big heart and plenty of room to grow, Bali is waiting for you. Meet him!

Nino is a friendly, loving 1 yo boxer mix. He is fully house-trained and can use a dog door. He knows how to sit and takes treats extremely politely. He loves approaching you for attention and often sits/sleeps nearby or against you. He gets along very well with other dogs and is simply curious about cats. He has done well in a crate. He rarely makes any noise, saving it for when other companion dogs start barking. He does well in the car and on walks (no leash pulling at all). He would be a great addition to any home.

29. Brandy
Adult (5 years 7 months) · Female · Doberman Pinscher · 22 mi from Plymouth

Meet Brandy, a stunning 5-year-old, CAT friendly, AKC red Doberman beauty who is every bit as sweet as she is beautiful!
Brandy has spent nearly her entire life devoted to one person. Since she was just 10 weeks old, she lived with her elderly human as his companion, and in true Doberman fashion, she took that job very seriously. Unfortunately, her owner recently had to move into assisted living, and his family made the difficult decision to find Brandy a new home where she can receive all the love, attention, and companionship she deserves.
Read more about Brandy
Brandy is a typical Dobe when it comes to her home and her person. She bonds closely with her human and will absolutely let strangers know she is there when they enter her territory. Once she knows you, though, you'll quickly see the sweet girl behind that beautiful red exterior.
Brandy has done well with the other dogs in her home. Any introductions to dogs or other pets should be done slowly, correctly, and with plenty of time for everyone to become comfortable.
Brandy has spent the last five years being someone's loyal companion, and now she's looking for someone who will be hers. She deserves a home that understands the devotion, intelligence, and protective nature that comes with loving a Doberman—and, most importantly, a family ready to make her part of their world again.
This red beauty has so much love and loyalty left to give. Could Brandy be your girl?

Bringing a dog home to your cat
Tell the rescue about your cat: their age and how they react to dogs. A dog who has lived calmly with one cat may still want to chase a cat that runs.
Introduce them slowly. Keep them apart for the first few days and swap bedding so they get used to each other's scent, then let them meet with the dog on a leash, rewarding calm behavior.
Make sure the cat can always get somewhere the dog can't reach, like a high shelf or a room behind a baby gate, and keep the litter box and cat food out of the dog's way.
