1. Bruno

Young (2 years 6 months) · Male · Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Shih Tzu / Mixed (medium coat) · 15 mi from Lakewood

Meet Bruno -
A little time, a little trust, and a whole lot of love
!
❤️

Bruno may not be the kind of guy who runs up to greet every stranger, but give him a little time to get to know you, and you'll discover a sweet, affectionate boy who is happy to share his love with his people! Once he's comfortable, his loving personality shines through, and he'll make a wonderful companion.

Bruno has plenty of great qualities! He's crate trained, leash trained, and does well in the car. He's also good with other dogs and cats, so he may enjoy having some furry friends around.

Read more about Bruno

Bruno would do best in an adult-only home with a securely fenced yard where he can enjoy some outdoor time. He can be a bit skittish and has a tendency to try to escape, so a family willing to take extra precautions and provide a safe environment is important. He can also be somewhat protective of his home and people.

With moderate energy and exercise needs, Bruno would make a lovely companion for someone looking for a devoted friend. He doesn't need you to be his best friend the moment you meet him; he just needs a little time, patience, and understanding. Once you've earned his trust, you'll have a loving boy who is happy to call you his person.

Could Bruno be the loyal companion you've been waiting for? ❤️

Bruno is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Bruno has been s neutered and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $500.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Adult (4 years 3 months) · Male · Miniature Schnauzer / Mixed (medium coat) · 15 mi from Lakewood

Luke is a sweet boy who is looking for a fresh start. He is now in a NJ foster home!

Meet Luke — our best guess is a Jack Russell Terrier/Mini Schnauzer mix, possibly with a little wire-haired terrier flair thrown in for good measure. We even might see some Spitz in him! Whatever his DNA says, one thing is certain: this boy is packed with personality.

Luke is smart, loyal, and very devoted to his people. He loves having a person to call his own and is eager to please once he knows you’re on his team. He can be a little hesitant at first when meeting new people, but he warms up very quickly.

Read more about Luke

We're not completely certain of Luke's age - he may be older than we think but also could be younger. He gets the zoomies, loves to play, and keeps us laughing with his entertaining little character. He has met lots of dogs and is living with 4 right now. He may enjoy having a well-matched canine friend—or being the star of the show himself. He enjoys playing chase with the other dogs in his foster home. He also likes to have ALL the toys and balls to himself, and takes great delight in taking everything out of the toy box. He'll play fetch, too!

Luke would thrive with someone who understands and appreciates terriers: someone who enjoys a clever, spirited companion and can give him structure, consistency, and plenty of love. In return, you’ll get a loyal little sidekick who will happily keep life interesting.

Smart. Spunky. So loyal.

Are small dogs good for apartments?

Often, yes. Many small dogs are happy with a smaller space and short walks, but energy matters more than size: ask the rescue how active the dog is and whether they bark when left alone.
