2. Nemo
Young · Male · German Shepherd Dog / Mixed · 14 mi from Raleigh

COURTESY POST !!! DO NOT APPLY TO RUSTY'S PLEASE APPLY HERE: Adoption Application Form https://share.google/UBQ9UhYNIlUmPIGtI HELP US FIND NEMO HIS HAPPY ENDING! Our sweet boy Nemo is just a couple of weeks away from graduating from his SIX-WEEK BOARD AND TRAIN PROGRAM, and we have one very important thing left to accomplish. WE NEED TO FIND HIM A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME! Nemo has spent the last several weeks working incredibly hard to become the best version of himself. He's learned obedience, built confidence, improved his social skills, and made some truly amazing progress. But there's one thing we can't teach him in training.
Read more about Nemo
What it feels like to have a home of his very own. Nemo is an incredibly intelligent, affectionate, active boy who bonds deeply with his people. Once you're his person, you're HIS person, and he will absolutely adore you. He's also got a few quirks, and we want to be completely transparent about what his perfect home looks like. Children 15 and older: Nemo does best with people who understand boundaries and can respect his personal space. No small animals: While Nemo does well with other dogs, smaller animals aren't a good fit for him. Dog friendly: With proper introductions, Nemo enjoys other dogs! He has a particularly funny fascination with black, fluffy dogs. Apparently, our handsome boy has a type! A quieter household: Nemo would thrive in a home with a predictable routine, a little peace and quiet, and people he can build a strong relationship with. An active family: Hiking, running, exploring, and outdoor adventures? Nemo would LOVE that! He's a smart, energetic boy who enjoys having things to do. Supervised outdoor time: Nemo is quite the talented fence climber! Although his recall has improved tremendously, he still needs supervision and secure handling outdoors. Continued respect for his boundaries: Nemo has made wonderful progress with meeting new people and navigating public environments. He just needs strangers to approach appropriately and give him a chance to feel comfortable. AND THE BEST PART? NEMO COMES WITH LIFETIME TRAINING SUPPORT! We're not simply handing Nemo over with a list of commands and wishing everyone good luck. His new family will receive: Lifetime refresher training sessions Help from his trainer during his transition into his new home Guidance on maintaining his obedience and continuing his progress Support to help Nemo and his new family build a wonderful relationship We have invested six weeks into helping Nemo succeed, and we're committed to making sure that success continues long after graduation. Now, here's the part that breaks our hearts. Nemo does not do well in a traditional boarding environment. He struggles emotionally, becomes withdrawn, and simply isn't the same happy, affectionate dog we see when he's able to spend time with people and participate in everyday life. We've watched him blossom throughout his training. We've seen his personality shine, his confidence grow, and his ability to navigate the world improve. The thought of him finishing all this hard work only to return to a kennel is absolutely devastating. Nemo deserves to graduate into a HOME, not back into boarding. He doesn't need a perfect family. He needs the right family. Someone patient. Someone active. Someone who appreciates a dog with a big personality, a huge heart, and a few little quirks. Someone who understands that rescue dogs aren't always perfect, but they are absolutely worth the effort. And if you're not quite ready to adopt? FOSTERING NEMO WOULD BE JUST AS INCREDIBLE! Giving him somewhere comfortable to land while we search for his forever family would mean the world to us and, more importantly, to Nemo. NEMO'S NEXT CHAPTER IS WAITING! Charlotte, NC Foster or forever home needed Graduating from his six-week training program soon Lifetime training support included Apply at https://stabrescue.com Please, please share our sweet boy. Puppy (2 months 2 days) · Male · Coonhound / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Raleigh

Hi! My mom and siblings were rescued by pawfect when we were just born in the shelter. We have been living in a warm cozy foster home and growing, growing, growing! Our mom Brynn (Brinley) is what they think to be a Coonhound mix and we are not sure what our dad was mixed with but likely something big.
We currently live in a foster home with cats, dogs & kids but please remember we are babies and proper introductions and consistent boundaries and training are a must to help me thrive as I grow.
We are accepting applications to be taken home as your new BFF and can't wait to find our forever!

Meet the Halloween Litter: A Little Spooky, A Whole Lot Sweet!
Our story started with a not-so-magical beginning: we were dumped at just a few weeks old. Thankfully, a kind Good Samaritan came to our rescue, and now our next big adventure is finding forever families!
At just 7 weeks old, we're tiny bundles of puppy breath, wiggly tails, and endless potential. Our breed is still a mystery, but our best guess is a mix of Hound and Anatolian Shepherd. In other words, we might be growing into some BIG dogs with big hearts to match!

We may have arrived with a little Halloween drama, but there's nothing scary about us. We're just sweet little pumpkins looking for families to love us, guide us, and help us grow into the amazing dogs we're meant to be.
Ready to make one of us your boo? We promise plenty of puppy kisses, silly antics, and a lifetime of love!**************

(DOB: 02/26/2026) Meet Chelsea Blue!Chelsea loves everyone she meets and has absolutely no stranger danger! She’s wonderful with kids, walks nicely on a leash, and is always eager to please. She’s incredibly intuitive and takes direction beautifully, making her an easy girl to have around. An absolute joy to be around so grab and take her with you!Chelsea loves being with her people, so a home where someone is around much of the time would be ideal. And if there are kids around to give her plenty of attention, she’d probably think she hit the jackpot! A home with a nice fenced in yard would be awesome to romp around and as she is young and has a good amount of energy.

She loves being outside so if no fence an active family that gets out daily.Chelsea is already house trained and crate trained, and her manners are pretty impressive. When it’s time for the humans to eat, just tell her to back out of the dining area and settle on the carpet in the living room and she does exactly that! She happily gives everyone their space and waits patiently. She's had some dog socialization and does really well with other dogs, but she does play hard and might have too much energy for an older dog. Chelsea is a sweet, smart, people-loving girl who is ready to be your loyal companion for all of life’s adventures! As part of Chelse Blue’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. 20. Sampson
Puppy (4 months 6 days) · Male · Great Pyrenees (long coat) · 20 mi from Raleigh

A good samaritan learned about me living outside tied up by a chain and rescued me from those conditions. He knew he would not be able to keep me but also knew he couldn't leave me where I was. He took me to the vet, got me meds for my ear infection and got me all cleaned up. I'm now in a foster home with Pawfect Match and will learn how to be a puppy. I have a sweet, calm demeanor and have done well with dogs, kids and people although I'm a little shy at the moment.
I will need a home with a yard as I will be a big boy as I grow older. I will shed, require brushing and wil need someone who understands my breed.

21. Chip
Adult (5 years) · Male · German Shepherd Dog / Hound / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Raleigh

Are you looking for a professional couch potato? How about a dog that basically sleeps on demand? Want a dog to pre-warm your bed before you get in? Look no further! Chip, AKA The House Hippo is DEFINITELY the dog for you.
Housetrained? Check.
Young at 5 years old, but with all that puppy stuff in the past? Check.
Good on a leash? Check.
Great with other dogs? Kids? Check, check.
Healthy? UTD on veterinary care? Neutered? Also check.
Read more about Chip
This dude is the total derpy package. He is sweet, gentle, and thinks his name should be Tiny, since he also believes he is a lap dog and will absolutely block your view of the TV if he joins you on the couch. But it is totally worth it, since he has an enormous amount of love to give. He was saved from euthanasia at a rural shelter with just hours to spare. And he is forever grateful and will for sure let it show. Chip would absolutely 100% benefit from being in a home with other dogs! We don’t think he would flourish as only dog!
Won't you consider adding this hunk of love to your pack?

Adult (2 years) · Male · American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat) · 20 mi from Raleigh

Meet Coda!
Coda was pulled from the shelter and spent time in boarding while being observed and trained! This boy has GREAT manners and such a great foundation for training!
A message from his trainer:
He's doing really well. Hes a different dog from the one I brought into the shelter.
Polite on a leash, knows basic obedience, understands dog manners well (still ignores them sometimes), and hes become way more social with people.
He'll still barks at someone that comes in the house initially or unexpectedly but is learning he's safe and with proper introductions warms up.

23. Morpheus
Senior · Male · Labrador Retriever / Mixed · 2 mi from Raleigh

Do you need a buddy? A buddy for you? A buddy for your dog? A buddy for your older kiddo? This guy is the best at being a buddy! Morpheus is not only handsome, he's cuddly and adorable. He would love to hang out next to you on the couch, sleep with you in the bed (stairs please, if your bed is kinda high), and just be near. He loves belly rubs and snuggles and chin chucks. He rides great in the car, and he's pretty good on leash as well. He's house trained and is crate trained, but has free roam of his current foster home, along with his three foster brothers. He lives a quiet life with low key dogs, but every once in a while he'll get goofy and start rolling around on the floor like a big dork, making all kinds of happy sounds.
Read more about Morpheus
When he's displeased, he'll yodel a little, full disclosure. But it's not long-lived. He just wants to be around his people. So if you're looking for the easiest guy to have around, Morpheus is that guy. He might be a senior, but he's still got a lot of life and love to give. Adoption fee of $90 includes neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/

24. Diesel
Young · Male · Hound / Boxer / Mixed · 17 mi from Raleigh

(DOB 01/01/2026) Diesel is truly the sweetest boy with so much love to give. He absolutely adores his humans and loves them unconditionally. He’s wonderful with children and what kid wouldn't love rubbing his big hound-y ears? Plus, he's always happy to soak up as many belly rubs as you’re willing to give! Diesel does well with other dogs, but he’s also perfectly content entertaining himself with his toys, chewing on a favorite bone, or curling up on a dog bed or couch with his stuffed animal. He doesn’t need constant excitement, he’s just happy being near the people he loves. He'd love his forever home to have a fenced in yard for him and his playmates (doggie or kiddos) to romp and have a good 'ole time!He can be a little sad when his person leaves the room or when it’s time to go into his crate and may cry for a few minutes.
Read more about Diesel
But within about five minutes, he settles down and is content relaxing with his bone or stuffed animal. What Diesel really needs is a family of his own; someone who works from home, who will love him, take him on walks and car rides (he does love those), let him be part of their everyday adventures, and give him the security of knowing he’s home. Diesel has such a gentle, loving heart. He’s the kind of dog who just wants to be someone’s best friend, and he deserves a family who will love him just as much as he will love them. As part of Diesel’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. Hi, I'm Nickel! I am an easy going, happy guy that loves adults, kids, and other dogs. I am working hard on house training, and rarely have accidents in my foster Mom's house. I sleep quietly in my crate all night, but I would love to snuggle up in your lap during the day!
A little about Nickel; he is very friendly and excited about the world around him. He rides well in the car and likes to wrestle and play with other dogs of all sizes, but he is equally as happy to settle in on the couch for a nap. As long as his people are nearby, Nickel is up for anything! (BR*/KG)
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and micro-chipped.

Puppy (3 months 19 days) · Female · Doberman Pinscher / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Raleigh

Hi,
I'm Peaches!
My brother and sisters and I were saved right in the nick of time with our mom when we found ourselves at the shelter. Us puppies had a sickness called parvo but Pawfect match acted quick and got us treated. We are now feeling better than ever and are happy to be thriving.
We are working on learning how to be a normal fun puppy and being loved on in our foster homes but would love to find our forever families to settle in our final spot.

Our mom is pictured in our photos and guess what?? One of my sibling had a DNA test and the results showed 50% Doberman Pinscher, 26.6% Great Pyrenees, 14.3% Super mutt and 9.1% Belgian Malinois. It is possible that my siblings and I could have different Dads so even a sibling DNA is no guarantee.
I hope to meet you soon at one of our upcoming events!

Adopting a large dog in Raleigh
Large dogs need room to stretch out and plenty of exercise: at least one good walk a day, and a secure yard is a bonus. Check your lease too, as some landlords limit the size or breed of dog.
Start training from day one. A big dog who walks nicely on a leash and doesn't jump up is a pleasure to live with, and many rescues can recommend a local trainer.
