1. Josie

Puppy · Female · Chihuahua / Pug (short coat) · 32 mi from New Braunfels

Welcome Josie to CCPAL Rescue. Josie is a Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) puppy. She weighs 4 pounds and is 9 weeks old. She will be a small dog full grown. She should be 12 pounds or less. She is very sweet and has an adorable rounded head. She likes to be held, is good in a crate, goes on a wee pad and loves to play with toys. She was born at the Rescue. They took in a stray female and she was pregnant. This means the puppies get lots of attention and are very used to being in a loud and rowdy environment. Josie would be best in a home that the person doesn’t work all day every day. She needs to finish up her puppy training. Social pups make great adults and now is the time for her to spend time with her family and to go places and let people pet her. She is an AMAZING puppy. She would be fine with children. Due to her small size, we would like children to be 8 or older. She is getting her puppy vaccines and will have 3. She will then be ready for spay and adoption. She can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

Welcome Dudley to CCPAL Rescue. Dudley is a 5- pound Chiweenie. That is Dashchund/Chihuahua. He is 10 weeks old. He has a beautiful fawn and black fade coloration. He looks like Bonnie but he is a little taller and has down ears. He has a little longer legs and body. He is good in a crate, likes to be held. He is learning the wee pad and gets toys and treats from our adopters. He will get grooming and nail trims at the rescue so he will be fine with that. He would be a great dog for a lover of this breed. A smaller yard would be fine. He would be fine in a doggy daycare as he is very social. He was found as a stray. He is getting neutered and all his vaccinations at the Rescue. He is ready for his forever home. He would be best in a home with someone that doesn’t work all day everyday as he will need to finish up his puppy training. He would also be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. 3. Clover

Puppy · Female · Dachshund / Chihuahua (short coat) · 32 mi from New Braunfels

Welcome Clover to CCPAL Rescue. Clover is a 4.5-pound Chiweenie. She happens to look more Dachshund than Chihuahua. That is Dachshund/Chihuahua. She is 10 weeks old. She has a fawn coat that is a little longer than the typical short coat. She has a little longer body and both ears hang long and low. She is good in a crate, likes to be held. She is learning the wee pad and gets toys and treats from our adopters. She will get grooming and nail trims at the rescue so she will be fine with that. She would be a great dog for a lover of this breed. A smaller yard would be fine. Dashchund and Chihuahua are typically vocal but if you raise as a puppy and correct her by saying “no” this should help as an adult.

Read more about Clover

She would be fine in a doggy daycare as she is very social. Right now, I would say she is very sweet and very cuddly. People who have had this breed love it for the loyalty to their human. She is getting spayed and all her vaccinations at the Rescue. She is ready for her forever home. She would be best in a home with someone that doesn’t work all day everyday as she will need to finish up her puppy training. She would also be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older due to her small size and trusting nature. A house with less stairs and less split levels would be best for her. She is currently in the CCPAL Rescue in Texas. 7. Charlie

Adult · Poodle (Miniature) (medium coat) · 43 mi from New Braunfels

This funny looking guy is CHARLIE, a 15 pound, 3 year old miniature poodle. His colors may look different but it just makes him unique. His curly coat is soft and he takes a bath well and does well at the groomers
CHARLIE was owner surrendered to us by a young lady who could not take care of him any longer. I am told he gets along with cats but I do not have any so I cannot vouch for that.
He is full grown and will not get any bigger. He gets along with the other foster dogs and plays well with everyone. He does like to hang around me but he is also independent, just happy roaming around the house and laying on a doggy bed and watching the activities.
If you are interested in adopting CHARLIE please submit an application on the website below. Feel free to call anytime. Thank you.

8. Milo

Young · Maltese / Poodle (Toy) / Mixed (medium coat) · 43 mi from New Braunfels

This little cutie is MILO, 10 pounds and 6 months old Maltipoo. We do not expect him to exceed 13 pounds as an adult. His coat is cotton soft and his temperament is just as soft. A kind hearted and playful little guy who gets along with all of the foster dogs. I do not have cats so I am not sure how he would behave around them.
MILO was found hiding in the bushes by Good Samaritans and turned into ACS, our very high kill shelter. I immediately stepped forward to rescue him and I am so happy. MILO is the type that just makes your heart melt. It is the cutest thing to watch him sit on his butt and beg you to come pet him. He sleeps with me and I barely know he is there because he doesn't move or get in the way.
If you are interested in adopting MILO, please submit an application on the website. Feel free to call anytime or leave a text message. Thank you.

10. Hope II

Puppy · Female · Boxer · 48 mi from New Braunfels

11/1/2026Hope II is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Hope II! I am a beautiful 3 month old flashy fawn puppy! I am an owner surrender due to being rescued, nursed back to health after having Parvo, and my caretakers rescued me to find a good home! I am described as friendly, active, smart, and playful! I live with another dog and am said to be dog friendly! There are no kids in my home but I have met the neighbor 3 and 5 year old kids and play with them and am kid friendly! I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly! Because I am a puppy, I am still learning house and crate training manners.

Read more about Hope II

At night I sleep in a crate in the humans room and if the humans must be away, I will whine for a minute and then take a nap. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates! Loud noises startle me but I love riding in the car, elk horns, playing with other dogs, playing with the humans, exploring, sniffing at everything, and taking naps! If you are looking for a precious girl, look no further! Contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

13. Freddy

Adult (4 years 11 months) · Male · Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat) · 48 mi from New Braunfels

Meet Freddy!

Freddy is a sweet Poodle mix who is ready to find his forever family. Just like his siblings, Freddy had quite an adventure before arriving at the rescue. After his owner ended up in the hospital, he and his brothers and sisters were loose on a property before being safely caught. He came to us heavily matted and flea-infested, but he has been completely cleaned up, fully vetted, and is ready for his fresh start!

Read more about Freddy

Freddy is a very sweet and submissive boy. However, he is very shy and timid meeting new people. Once he warms up, he is jumping with tail wags and kisses. He really is a sweet boy, and just may need a little more patience until he come fully come out of his shell.

Due to his breed, Freddy will need a dedicated family committed to regular brushing and consistent professional grooming to keep him looking handsome and feeling his best. It can be very painful if his fur becomes matted and tangled.

We are unsure if he is house broken. Potty training is something that will just need to be retrained on.

His activity is pretty mellow here at the rescue, so far. But because he has also not had enough time to come out of his shell, he more than likely will be more active when comfortable in his forever home.

Adult (3 years 11 months) · Male · Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat) · 48 mi from New Braunfels

Meet Bingo!

Bingo is a gentle, sweet, and submissive Poodle mix who is looking for a patient family to help him blossom. Just like his 4 siblings who came in together, Bingo had a rough start. After his owner ended up in the hospital, he and his siblings spent two days loose on a property before being safely rescued. He arrived matted and covered in fleas, but he has been completely cleaned up, fully vetted, and is ready for a safe place to land.

Read more about Bingo

Unlike his energetic sister, Bingo has a much quieter, more sensitive soul. He is quite shy when meeting new people and will need a little time and patience to warm up to his new surroundings. Once he knows he is safe, his true colors shine—he becomes incredibly loving, gentle, and will happily shower you with sweet kisses!

We are unsure how he is with cats, as well as basic house manners. Potty training is something that will need to be recorrected on at home.

Due to his breed, Bingo will need a family committed to regular brushing and consistent professional grooming to keep him comfortable and handsome.

15. London

Adult (2 years) · Female · Shih Tzu (long coat) · 48 mi from New Braunfels

Meet London!

London is a fun, hyper, loving, and playful Shih Tzu who is looking for a fresh start and a family to call her own.

After her owner sadly ended up in the hospital, London and her four siblings found themselves loose on a large property. It took a dedicated two-day trapping session by our team to bring them all safely into our rescue. She arrived heavily matted and flea-infested, but she has been cleaned up, vetted, and is now ready to let her true personality shine!

Read more about London

London is a total blast and has that classic, big Shih Tzu personality. She is a bundle of joy who loves to play, though she does give affectionate play bites when she gets excited, so a home with older children who understand puppy-like play would be best. She is also quite a vocal girl and will let you know when she has something to say! London is still working on her potty training and will need a patient family willing to help her learn the ropes.

As a Shih Tzu, she will also require consistent brushing and regular professional grooming to keep her coat looking and feeling its best.

Adult (5 years) · Female · Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) · 48 mi from New Braunfels

Terri found herself as a stray, lost and confused. Thankfully, she was brought to us and is now safe.

Terri is a very sweet and submissive girl. She is still a little nervous and unsure of what is happening, but she still gives all the tail wags and happy kisses. She gets along just fine with other dogs, unsure about cats. Due to her demeanor, she would most likely do fine with kids, too.

We do not know her past life, so potty training and house broken is unsure, and will need to be worked on. She's not much of a barker, but that could also be due to her shy self, and not fully coming out of her shell, yet.

17. Pedro

Adult (4 years 2 months) · Male · Pug / Mixed (short coat) · 48 mi from New Braunfels

Meet Pedro, who smiles when greeting you.

Pedro’s life changed through no fault of his own when his family was deported back to Mexico, leaving him in need of a new place to call home. It’s heartbreaking when circumstances beyond anyone’s control separate a family, and now this sweet boy is hoping for a second chance with a family who will love him forever.

Read more about Pedro

Pedro is a fun, happy, loving, and gentle boy who has so much affection to give. He loves sharing hugs and kisses with his people, lounging around and enjoying the simple things in life, or heading out for a nice walk. He isn’t an overly active guy, so he would be happy with a more relaxed lifestyle, but don’t let that fool you! Pedro still has a playful side and knows how to have a good time.

He gets along well with other dogs. We are unsure how he is with cats. Potty training is also something that may need to recorrect on, as he came in unaltered and unsure of his marking in home.

Pedro is the kind of dog who would love to be part of your everyday life, whether that means joining you for a leisurely stroll, relaxing beside you on the couch, or giving you sweet hugs and kisses after a long day. He doesn’t ask for much, just a safe home, a loving family, and someone who will never give up on him.

He has been through a major change in his life, and he deserves someone who will give him the time he needs to feel safe and secure.

Boots gets along well with other dogs, which may be a bonus for a home with a calm, friendly canine companion. Once he has time to adjust and learn that he is safe, he will have the opportunity to show his true personality.

21. Freda

Young · Female · Border Terrier / Norfolk Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) · 43 mi from New Braunfels

FREDA is a 9 month old, 9 pounds terrier of some sort. We really cannot figure out what she is mixed with. I probably should do a DNA test on her. She looks just like her mother who is a few pounds smaller. FREDA was owner surrendered as the pregnancy was an accident litter.
The word that comes to me when I think about FREDA is "soft", her coat is soft, her attitude/temperament is soft, she takes treats soft, she plays soft and her overall behavior is just soft. She is a sweetheart of a dog who plays with all of the other foster dogs, she is kind of submissive but not timid as she wrestles and can hold her on while playing.
FREDA loves everyone, gives kisses and loves to snuggle even when there is really no space around my legs, she squeezes in and find a spot! I will have to get better pictures of her but she is always moving and playing.

Read more about Freda

She would make a great family dog, she will remain a small breed scruffy dog.
There are no cats in the home so we do not know how she would get along with them but she is just super soft so we cannot imagine her not getting along with a cat, she'll probably try to play with a cat.
If you would like to adopt FREDA, please submit an application on the website below. Feel free to call me anytime. Thank you.

22. Cisco

Adult · Male · Poodle (Miniature) (medium coat) · 43 mi from New Braunfels

CISCO is ready for his own home and what a sweet boy you will be getting. He is 3 years old and a mere 14 pounds and fully grown. Just a sweet guy who wants love and loves nothing better than hanging out with his human. Although CISCO is in a home with other dogs, he can be dog selective and for that reason we are asking that he be the only dog in the home.
He gets along great with small kids, he plays and gives soft kisses.
He walks well on a leash and rides in the car without getting sick. He obeys well and is crate trained. Because there are several dogs in the home he is crated when there are no adults in the home so we are not sure how he does left alone on his own but he is not a chewer and does not bother things that are not dog related.
CISCO would love to have a human to give him attention and love and he will reward you with devotion and gratitude.

Read more about Cisco

He does very well being groomed and bathed and he will need to have his curly coat groomed every 6-8 weeks.
The home does not have any cats so we are not sure how he would do with them. If you are interested in adopting CISCO, please submit an application on the website below. Thank you.

23. Blanca

Adult · Female · Rat Terrier (short coat) · 32 mi from New Braunfels

Welcome Blanca to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2 year old Rat Terrier mix. She came in from a hoarding situation. We received 3 dogs from this case. One was adopted already and one had to go to a specialized trainer in another Rescue. Blanca has started opening up and allowing people to pet her and hold her. She never got any attention in her original home, the hoarder. She is good with other dogs and causes no issues. She is kennel trained and her response to being afraid is to run and hide. She is a timid girl and not the social butterfly. She would be perfect with a person that is more introverted and wants a pet that is also similar. Blanca would be satisfied being at home with you all the time. A small walk in the yard would be fine. She until now, has not walked on leash. She is learning to do it at our Rescue. She would like a patient owner and a quieter home. An older couple or older single person would be great. Someone with a quieter home. She would be fine kenneled away if you had a party or people over. She is not very vocal and prefers to blend into the woodwork. She is really a great dog for the right family. She is getting her vaccinations, nail trims and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She could be adopted locally in Texas or we could work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

27. Daisy

Adult · Female · French Bulldog (short coat) · 32 mi from New Braunfels

Welcome Daisy to CCPAL foster program. Daisy is a 4-year Frenchie (French Bulldog). She has been a breeder dog and the breeder is no longer going to use her so she is now looking for her forever home. This awful in our eyes, but we are happy to find Daisy a real forever home where she can be loved and cherished and doted on. She is a wonderful dog. She is good with other dogs, potty trained, not too active, not too vocal and does good with children. She is getting her spay surgery with CCPAL. She is current on vaccinations and will also get her heartworm test. She has lived in a house so she knows the rules and structure of living with a family.

She is beautiful inside and out and we cannot believe anyone could give up a dog this fantastic. We would love someone that knows this breed. She has the shortened nose so this breed cannot tolerate heat well. Anyone that has had a Frenchie knows this. She would be fine with a moderately active family. She can go with children as well. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can work with one of the wonderful transporter to help her get to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. 28. Maverick

Adult · Male · Chihuahua / Dachshund (short coat) · 32 mi from New Braunfels

Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has taken Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Adopting a small dog in New Braunfels

Small dogs suit apartments and smaller homes, are easy to take along, and many live well into their teens.

They still need daily walks, play and training. Small dogs can be fragile, so ask the rescue how they are with young children, who can easily drop or step on them.
