1. Pedro
Adult (3 years) · Male · Boston Terrier (short coat) · 9 mi from St. Paul

Hi, I'm Pedro, and yes, the smile is real. I know, it's pretty adorable. I'm a 3-year-old Boston Terrier boy weighing in at a perfectly portable 30 pounds, and my favorite hobby is being wherever you are. Going to the kitchen? I'll supervise. Watching TV? I'll be your cuddle buddy. Taking a car ride? Call me your co-pilot. I love absolutely everyone I meet and make friends faster than you can say, "good boy." Dogs? Love them. Cats? Love them too. Kids? Yep, they're great! My foster cat sibling and foster doggy brother are some of my favorite pals, especially when it's time to play outside.Speaking of playtime, I love running around the yard, hanging out with my doggy friends, and showing off my excellent recall. But don't let that fool you into thinking I'm some wild party animal. I'm actually a pretty relaxed dude who believes life is all about balance: a little play, a little adventure, and a whole lot of snuggling. I've got all the important grown-up skills, too. I'm house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and even know how to use a doggy door. Basically, I'm the total package. My dream home? One where I'm loved, included in the fun, and maybe have a furry sibling or two to hang out with. In return, I'll provide companionship, cuddles, smiles, and expert-level shadowing services. So, what do you think? Ready to have the cutest sidekick you've ever met? I know I can't wait to meet my forever family. My adoption fee is $400.

2. Josie
Adult (3 years 1 month) · Female · French Bulldog · 9 mi from St. Paul

Josie here, reporting for duty... and by duty, I mean collecting cuddles, chasing tennis balls, and making sure everyone knows I'm the sweetest little Frenchie around! I'm a 3-year-old French Bulldog weighing in at a perfect 25 pounds of squishy, adorable goodness. I absolutely love people and thrive on attention. If you're looking for a little shadow with a big heart, look no further. I came into my foster home like I already owned the place, confidently making myself comfortable and charming everyone I met. I've got good manners, too! I'm housetrained, know how to use a dog door, and I'm crate trained. I can show off my smarts by sitting on command and shaking with both my left and right paws. Pretty impressive, right? I also ride great in the car, so I'm always ready for adventures or errands by your side. When it comes to friends, I'm easygoing and gentle. I get along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and sizes, and I enjoy meeting new people. Whether you're a senior looking for a devoted companion or a family wanting a loving pup to complete your home, I'm happy to spread my affection around. My energy level is on the lower side, but don't mistake that for boring. I still love to play, especially if there's a ball involved! Balls are my absolute favorite toys. Now, I do have one very important quirk my future family needs to know about. You see, I have an unfortunate talent for finding socks and swallowing them whole. Socks, small toys, and other little items left on the floor are simply too tempting for me. Because of this, I need a home with adults or older children who can be diligent about keeping things picked up. Trust me, we'll all be happier if the socks stay in the hamper where they belong! My dream home is one filled with love, attention, belly rubs, and people who want a loyal little companion by their side. If you're looking for a gentle, cuddly Frenchie who will happily ride shotgun, snuggle on the couch, and steal your heart (but hopefully not your socks), I think we might be the perfect match. My adoption fee is $700.

3. Frick
Adult (4 years 2 months) · Male · French Bulldog / English Bulldog / Mixed · 9 mi from St. Paul

I’m Frick — a 4‑year‑old Frenchie/English Bulldog mix weighing in at a perfect 43 pounds of soft, snuggly goodness. I’m a calm, quiet little gentleman who barely makes a peep… unless I’m asleep, in which case I snore like a tiny, cozy bulldozer dreaming its best dreams. My favorite thing in the world is being close to my humans. I follow you everywhere, lean in for hugs, melt under ear rubs, and absolutely adore top‑of‑the‑head kisses. If you sit down, I will gently drape myself over you like a warm, living weighted blanket. It’s my calling. Toys? I’m intrigued, but also confused. I stare at them like they’re trying to tell me a secret. Food, however, now that I understand. I’m very food motivated and have perfected the art of the “sweetest boy” eyes to earn an extra nibble. I’m still working on my training including house training but making progress. I’m leash trained and very gentle. I get along well with other dogs, though bigger dogs make me nervous because I was picked on before. I’m happiest with kind, friendly pups or just hanging out with my humans. Car rides aren’t my favorite, but lounging in the yard? That’s my happy place. I love feeling the breeze, sniffing the world, and just being a peaceful little potato. I’m the sweetest boy-soft‑hearted, snuggly, quiet, and loyal. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who wants nothing more than to love you, follow you, and nap near you, I’m your guy. My adoption fee is $450..

4. Doodle
Puppy (3 months 26 days) · Female · Boston Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 9 mi from St. Paul

Hi, I’m Doodle! I’m a 3‑month‑old female Boston Terrier mix gal with a soft heart, a playful spirit, and the sweetest snuggles you could ask for. I love running around with my doggy siblings, chasing toys, and exploring, but I’m also a pretty laid‑back little gal who’s just as happy curling up beside you when playtime is done. I’m working hard on my potty training and crate training, and I’m doing really well for a young pup. I’m good with kids and cats, and I have normal puppy energy, enough to make you smile, but not so much that I can’t settle down for cuddles. I love all toys, especially the ones I can tug, toss, or carry around proudly. I’d really love a home where someone will keep helping me learn and grow. I’m sweet, playful, snuggly, and ready to become someone’s best little girl. My adoption fee is $300.
Puppies will come fully vetted and the rescue will pay for spay and neuter.

Hi, I’m Noodles, a 3‑month‑old female Boston Terrier mix with a soft heart, a playful spirit, and fluff so light and sweet it looks like I was dusted with powdered sugar. I’m just as fluffy as my sister Doodle, but I come in a lighter shade—like the sunshine version of our little duo. I love running around with my doggy siblings, chasing toys, and exploring new things, but I’m also a pretty laid‑back little girl who’s just as happy curling up beside you once playtime winds down. I’m working hard on my potty training and crate training, and I’m doing really well for a young pup. I’m good with kids and cats, and I have normal puppy energy—enough to make you laugh and keep things fun, but not so much that I can’t settle in for snuggles. Hi, I’m Waffles, a 3‑month‑old female Boston Terrier mix with a soft heart, a playful spirit, and the cutest scruffy black‑and‑brindle coat you’ve ever seen. I look a little like a tiny woodland creature—sweet, scruffy, and full of charm—and I even have a little white tuft on my chin that makes everyone smile the moment they see me. I love running around with my doggy siblings, exploring new things, and chasing toys, but I’m also a pretty easygoing little girl who’s just as happy curling up beside you when playtime is over. Max is incredibly friendly, loves playing with his favorite toys, zooming around the yard, and being right by his person's side. He’s a happy, loving boy who will surely steal your heart.
Because Max is a bit food-protective, he thrives best when he has a quiet, dedicated space—like a kennel or separate room—for mealtime. He is looking for an adult-only home where he can be the center of your world. While he is generally sweet, he has a history of biting a child, so we are requiring a home without children. He also isn't a fan of the broom; we’re not sure why, but he’d appreciate a family that understands his quirks.

Health: * No obvious health issues found during vet exam *
Temperament: Jasper is a 3-year-old, 10lb sweetheart who is officially looking for his forever home. While he can be a little shy when he first meets new people, he warms up beautifully once he feels comfortable and safe. He is a wonderful companion for other animals and gets along great with both dogs and cats; in fact, he’s even helped another shy dog in his foster home find the confidence to play.
When it comes to children, Jasper seems to do just fine with them, though we do recommend keeping an eye on things and not leaving him unsupervised with young kids. He is a brave little guy who didn't have any issues at all with the fireworks! He is leash trained, though he appreciates a little extra patience and reassurance while he builds his confidence on walks. He’s making great progress every day, and he now happily takes treats right from your hand. His absolute favorite thing in the world is a frozen cheese bone. If you’re looking for a gentle, brave, and playful new best friend, please apply to adopt Jasper today! --

18. Bruno
Young (3 years) · Male · Pomeranian (medium coat) · 9 mi from St. Paul

~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption,
things could drastically change a month later. Since we don’t have a long health history of your
adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam
and follow up exams.~
Health: * No obvious health issues found during vet exam *
Temperament: Don’t let his 6lb frame fool you—Bruno is a 3-year-old with the soul of a warrior and the attitude to match. He is officially "not for the faint of heart," but for the right person, he is the ultimate companion.
Read more about Bruno
Bruno is a classic "spicy" pup. He has a "tiny wolf" mentality and isn't afraid to use his teeth if he’s asked to do something he doesn’t like (like heading outside or being moved). He’s spent a lifetime being misunderstood, but we know the truth: Bruno is just a little guy who needs clear boundaries and a patient leader. He has previously been allowed to call the shots, so he needs an adopter who is comfortable with his "wolf" side—someone who won’t be intimidated by a growl or a snap, but will instead provide the firm, consistent structure he needs to feel secure.
Because of his need for a controlled, predictable environment, Bruno will not be adopted into homes with children, nor can he go to homes where children frequently visit.
Once he decides you’re his person, the transformation is incredible. He turns into a total mushy lap dog who loves his toys, chasing tiny balls, and long, polite walks on a leash. He’s house and kennel trained, but he is not a "meet and greet" kind of dog; he isn't fond of strangers and won't show his best side at first glance.
If you are looking for a fierce little protector and have the experience and patience to look past his "little turd" moments, you’ll find a loyal, cuddly, and loving dog waiting to bond with his forever human. He won't win a "Best in Show" for his first impression, but if you can give him a chance, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re looking for a fierce little protector who will eventually be your biggest cuddle bug, Bruno is your guy. He can be a little turd, but he’s a good little turd who just needs a chance. Are you his person? Apply to adopt him today. --
Where did he come from: He was surrendered to our rescue when his family could no longer care for him.

Adopting a dog in St. Paul
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
