5. Brittany

Young · Female · Beagle (short coat) · 48 mi from Clarksville

This beautiful purebred Beagle girl called Brittany is our pride and joy to offer to a Beagle loving family. Her story is sad and one that will make you sad and mad all rolled in to one roller coaster of emotions. A young newly wed couple were driving from their home in Chattanooga, on their way to a honeymoon in Nashville, TN. Out of the corner of their eye while driving, they saw a truck pulled over and pushing this girl out onto the side of the road and then drive away. They owned two dogs of their own and it broke their heart to see such meanness. She was in a desperate situation. They pulled over and took her in to their car and then started making calls to shelters and rescues in the Nashville area where they were destined to arrive in a few hours.

Read more about Brittany

They got Critter Cavalry on the phone and we stepped up to take her in immediately and we would make sure she had a future family who would never do such a horrible thing as to abandon her. What we have found out with Brittany is that she is a happy and inviting girl who loves to play with other dogs and who loves to spoken to with kindness. She craves love which we are sure she got little of before. Her fav game is to chase a ball. She is young as in probably a year or 2 at the oldest and she weighs 26 pounds. She is being spayed 10/23 and has already started her shots and worming. She is picture perfect if you want a Beagle or small dog that is not tiny but resilient and fun and loving. We know she loves couches and dog company for playtime and hanging out. She’s housebroken and will definitely need a fenced yard to keep that Beagle nose safely within sight of your back door.
Just contact Critter Cavalry at ccrtennessee@gmail.com
PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region. Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.

6. Jupiter

Adult · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 48 mi from Clarksville

What a wonderful little Chihuahua boy our Jupiter is and up . This dear gentle boy is 7 years old and only 8 lbs. He is just the perfect lap boy! As gentle as he is looks with his piercing dark brown eyes and his easy way of becoming your friends. He is a soft soul that is a little unsure of himself in life. He has been treated badly in the past and we are here to change the path of his life and make it one of security and love. He is housebroken and crate trained and loves to curl up in his little dog bed and sleep after a nice play session. He acts much younger than his 7 years. He is around many other dogs and fits in like a glove, like he has always been there. Please consider giving this boy the next and best 10 years of his life. We know he has that kind of longevity in him. Jupiter will be a blessing in your life. Please contact us at Critter Cavalry at ccrtennessee@gmail.com

12. Maple-Petite 16 Lbs.

Adult · Female · Terrier / Mixed · 48 mi from Clarksville

Meet Maple — A Little Terrier With a BIG Heart!Maple is one of those special dogs who seems to love everyone she meets. At 8 years old and 16 pounds, this sweet Terrier mix has the most loving heart and an easygoing, happy personality that makes her an absolute joy to be around. She especially adores children and would love to be part of a family where she can stay busy, have adventures, and then curl up with her people when the day is done.Maple is the total package when it comes to the important stuff—she is house trained and crate trained, and she is ready to be your devoted companion from day one.

Read more about Maple-Petite 16 Lbs.

She does pull a little on the leash because she gets excited about all the wonderful things there are to see and smell, but she loves going for walks and is eager to explore. With some consistent training and a confident handler, we think she will learn those leash manners in no time. And Maple is definitely not looking for a life spent sitting on the couch all day! This girl has energy and she wants to use it. She loves hiking, running with her person, going for long walks, and simply being outside enjoying the world. A securely fenced yard is required because she loves having the freedom to safely run and explore off leash. Her recall still needs some work, so her future family will need to continue working with her on that. The perfect family for Maple would be active people who enjoy getting outside and want a four-legged adventure buddy. She would be wonderful for someone who hikes, runs, walks regularly, or simply wants a dog who is excited to join them in an active lifestyle. She could thrive with a single person, a couple, or a family with older children. But here’s the best part about Maple: once she has had her exercise, explored the world, and spent time with her people, she is perfectly happy to settle down and cuddle. She has that wonderful Terrier spirit during the day and turns into the sweetest snuggle buddy when it’s time to relax. ❤️Maple is ready for someone who will give her the active, happy life she deserves—and in return, she will give you companionship, laughter, loyalty, and plenty of love.If Maple sounds like your kind of girl, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.

Adult · Male · Beagle / Mixed (short coat) · 48 mi from Clarksville

Meet Chance Some dogs are given a name that fits them perfectly, and Chance is one of them. This sweet 5-year-old Beagle mix received his name because he was given a second chance at life—and he has embraced it with his whole heart. Chance came from a hoarding/ animal abuse case where his owners were consequently arrest, arrested. Despite everything he's been through, Chance has never lost his love for people. His tail still wags, his eyes still light up when he sees you, and he still believes that his forever family is out there waiting for him.

Read more about Chance

Chance is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He loves attention, enjoys spending time with his people, and has a gentle, loving personality that makes it impossible not to fall in love with him. Adopting a small dog in Clarksville

Small dogs suit apartments and smaller homes, are easy to take along, and many live well into their teens.

They still need daily walks, play and training. Small dogs can be fragile, so ask the rescue how they are with young children, who can easily drop or step on them.
