1. Chickpea
Young (1 year) · Female · Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) · 76 mi from Prescott Valley

Say hello to Chickpea! Chickpea is an approximately one-year-old, nine-pound Terrier mix, adoptable through Chi Town Rescue in Phx., Az. When Chickpea first came to the shelter from her former home, she was extremely fearful and wouldn't allow us to pet her without running away or nipping at us. Chickpea has been at the rescue about two months and has made enough progress that we are comfortable listing her for foster or adoption. That said, Chickpea is still fearful with new people and will need a family willing to go slow and let her progress on her own time. Chickpea needs a home with no young children, and a home with a secure yard that she can access for playtime/potty-time.
Read more about Chickpea
Chickpea is not leash trained yet and will do best working up to this slowly. Chickpea is social with other dogs and a canine buddy in her new home will likely help her warm up to a new environment faster. Chickpea has made a lot of progress behaviorally in the few months she's been at the shelter, and we are confident she will blossom even further in a loving and patient home setting. Does Chickpea sound like she might be a match for you? Email us at chitownrescue@gmail.com for more information/meet and greet appointment. Chickpea's adoption fee includes spay surgery, vaccinations up to date including Rabies certificate, and microchip.

MEET DUDLEY #2!!
Read more about Dudley
Dudley is a sweet, affectionate, and very playful boy with a lot of personality and energy. He loves attention, playing with his toys, being outside, going for walks, and especially playing with other dogs. He really loves having someone to play with. He can be pretty enthusiastic during playtime, so another playful dog who can match his energy would be a great match. He is good with adults and elementary aged children on a leash, but he has not been testing with children in a home. He is housetrained, uses a doggy door, and knows basic commands. He does fairly well on a leash, but he still pulls at times, especially when he's excited about going for a walk. He is a typical young Husky who is curious, energetic, and always looking for something to do.
Dudley has some separation anxiety, particularly when he is left alone crated. This is improving, and he has a prescription for trazodone to help when he needs to be crated for extended periods of time. He also has enamel hypoplasia which affects the enamel on his teeth. He received a dental treatment, including bonding, in August 2026. Dudley's current owner is unable to give him the exercise and attention he needs and is heartbroken to have to find him a new home. Dudley would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship. A bonus would be a similarly energetic pet sibling too. Meet Dudley today!

12. Gino
Adult · Male · Rottweiler · 94 mi from Prescott Valley

Meet Gino!Gino is a big, goofy boy weighing in at 112 pounds! He wants nothing more than to nuzzle his face into your lap to receive all the pets and love you can give. His temperament is sweet and docile, and he is a smart boy with just a fun dash of classic Rottie stubbornness. We rescued Gino off the county shelter's euthanasia list on 10/20/26. He was placed on the list because when he became overstimulated from excitement or petting, he would mount his handler. Knowing what a sweet soul he is, we were so excited when a proffessional trainer offered to foster and train him! She is working with Gino to curb this behavior and help him become the absolute best version of himself.

Young · Male · Mastiff · 85 mi from Prescott Valley

Sully
MEET SULLY — OUR SWEET YOUNG CANE CORSO!
Meet Sully, a handsome black Cane Corso boy, approximately 8 months to 1 year old, with a heart of gold! ❤️
Sully and his sister were abandoned in the desert. Thankfully, HARTT was able to trap Sully and bring him to safety after someone took his sister home.
Despite his rough start, Sully is an incredibly sweet, social, dog-friendly, and people-loving boy who just wants to please and be loved!
He LOVES playgroup, especially chasing his buddies Diamond and Beauty around the yard. His favorite game is King of the Mountain, where he gets all his friends to chase him! And when playtime is over, he’s always ready for cuddles.
When Sully first arrived, he was terrified to go outside and wanted to run straight back to his kennel.
Read more about Sully
Now he’s gaining confidence, enjoying the outdoors, and learning that life can be wonderful! ❤️
Sully may not be the biggest or most traditional-looking Corso, but his personality more than makes up for it!
We think he’d make a wonderful family companion. Like any young Corso, he’ll benefit from basic training, routine, structure, and a family committed to helping him continue to blossom.
Sully survived being abandoned. Now he deserves a family who will never leave him behind.

This sweet little fawn Cane Corso mix was abandoned by her owner in the desert, left to fend for herself with no food.

Zuri was skin and bones and literally pooping rocks from trying to survive. It was heartbreaking to see what this little girl had endured.
But look at her now! ❤️ She’s gaining weight, thriving, and showing us what an absolute sweetheart she is!
And we’ve discovered something wonderful about Zuri — she absolutely LOVES children! She’s also dog friendly and enjoys having four-legged friends.
Zuri is a petite little fawn Corso mix, definitely on the smaller side, which makes her even more adorable!
We would absolutely LOVE to find Zuri a family with children to love and spoil her.

18. Zeke
Young · Male · Rottweiler · 94 mi from Prescott Valley

Meet Zeke! Our Newest Rotten Rottie!Zeke is an absolutely stunning young male Rottweiler. He was found as a stray and brought to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, where he ultimately ended up on the euthanasia list. While at the shelter, he was friendly with staff and caused no issues. Even the veterinary team was able to handle him easily. If you’ve ever owned a Rottweiler, you know the vet can be a challenging environment for them. The reason he was placed on the euthanasia list was due to dog reactivity reported in the shelter lobby, as well as his finder mentioning that he reacted to other people and dogs while on leash.
Read more about Zeke
This type of behavior is common to the breed and in high-stress shelter environments. With consistency and proper training, it can be managed or overcome. When I met Zeke, I didn't see any reactivity at all. I took him out of his kennel, walked him into a play yard, and navigated past other dogs. He even sat calmly outside his kennel while we readjusted his leash with other dogs barking just a few feet away, and he didn't react. He stayed focused on me and sat patiently. However, just because I didn't witness reactivity during our initial meeting doesn't mean it never occurs. Once we get to know Zeke better and observe him across different settings, we’ll have a clearer picture of what support and environment he needs to succeed.Regardless of why he was on the euthanasia list, after meeting Zeke and seeing what a wonderful dog he is, we knew we had to save him. We don't know his exact age, but he appears to be between 1 and 2 years old. So far what we have seen from Zeke is a smart, even-tempered, affectionate, and gentle boy.As we spend more time learning his personality, likes, and dislikes, we will update his profile. At this time, we do not know how he does with other dogs, small animals, or children, but we will try to test him in as many different environments as is safe and appropriate. In addition, Zeke will be heading to training with Amanda at Paw Creek Training next week! Amanda will determine how he does with other dogs, correct any behavioral concerns she finds, and teach him all his basic obedience. We can't wait to watch Zeke become the best version of himself! We truly believe Zeke is going to make an amazing companion, and we look forward to helping him build the life he has always deserved! If you are interested in meeting Zeke or any of our adoptable dogs, please visit our website at http://www.rottenrottie.com and complete our adoption questionnaire.Adoption Process:If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, "not-so-rotten" Rotties, you will be asked to fill out our adoption application which allows us to get to know you better. 19. Buster
Adult (5 years) · Male · Chihuahua / Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 76 mi from Prescott Valley

Say hello to Buster! Buster is an approximately five-year-old, 25-pound mutt mix, available for adoption through Chi Town Rescue. Buster first came to the shelter in July 2024 with 10 other dogs, as part of a hoarding case in Concho, Az. All of the dogs were fearful to varying degrees and all but three (including Buster) have found forever homes. Buster was one of our hold-outs as far as being comfortable with the humans. A few months ago, Buster broke through those walls and decided to let the humans start petting him! Not only is Buster allowing us to pet him, he will even nudge us if we stop AND offer us his paw to hold (it's the cutest thing!).
Read more about Buster
Buster will undoubtedly be shy with new people, but if you go slow and have patience, we are sure Buster will eventually warm up to his new human friends. Buster is social with other dogs and enjoys playing and zooming. He would do best in a home with another dog (or two!), as they can help him feel more comfortable in a new environment. Buster also enjoys squeaky toys, zoomies, and snacks. He is a curious guy who will follow you around once he trusts you (and especially if there's food involved). Buster would do best in a home with no small children, and a secure yard/fencing. No apartments please, as Buster is not yet leash-trained and will need a yard he has access to, for potty training. If you have room in your heart and home for a special dog like Buster, please send us a message! Email chitownrescue@gmail.com for more information/meet and greet appointment with Buster. Buster's adoption fee includes neuter surgery, vaccinations up to date, and microchip.

MEET ZEUS #18!!
Read more about Zeus
Zeus is a medium-high energy boy who loves to plat fetch and tug-of-war. Then, he turns into a cuddle bug with his person. He does not show toy or food aggression. He is housetrained, crate trained and doggy door trained. He can be trusted alone at home (doesn't chew anything up). His only mischief is stealing food off the counter. Although he is crate trained, he does get anxious in it. He does well outside in his dog house or just chilling in the home. Zeus walks beautifully on a leash and is muzzle-trained for public. He bonds hard once you are his person--you will be his whole world. He is deeply loyal, protective, and affectionate with his people. He just needs slow introductions to build that trust.
He needs to be in an adult-only home with no other pets and a low-traffic household. When company comes over, he needs his own space to also build trust. His bite record is disclosed, and he needs an experienced owner who understands protective dogs and will keep his structure, boundaries, and muzzle use in public. There is a $50 rehoming fee. He is not a fit for a first-time dog owner or a busy household. However, he is truly a devoted companion in the right home. Meet Zeus today!

27. Pimento
Adult (6 years) · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 76 mi from Prescott Valley

This is a courtesy post for Frosted Faces, Vintage Paws Animal Rescue
Read more about Pimento
Say hello to Pimento! Pimento is an approximately six-year-old male Chihuahua mix, weighing around 20-pounds currently. Pimento came to the Frosted Faces shelter over a year ago, as one of twenty-five dogs who were taken in from a severe hoarding case. All of the dogs were fearful to varying degrees and only a few were social enough to be adopted. Pimento has made great improvement during his time at the shelter and loves attention from those he knows and trusts. He will allow you to pick him up once he is used to you, and will lay by you or climb in your lap for gentle pets. Pimento had never met our photographer but allowed her to pet him as he was being held by his trusted human friend. Pimento's hobbies include squeaky toys and chew bones! Pimento enjoys being social with other dogs and is pretty easy-going with a variety of temperaments, even getting his play on from time to time! Pimento will need a patient and secure home environment that is willing to go slow and let him come to them on his terms. We expect that he will be nervous in a new environment and will do best in a home with no small children. Pimento is social with his kennel mate, Olive, and with other small dogs (unknown on large dogs or cats). If you have the patience to help a shy dog blossom and love a project- get in touch with us to meet Pimento!
Pimento's adoption fee includes neuter surgery, vaccinations up to date, and microchip. Email chitownrescue@gmail.com and we will get you in touch with the Frosted Faces shelter for a meet and greet.

28. Olive
Adult (3 years) · Female · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 76 mi from Prescott Valley

This is a courtesy post for Frosted Faces, Vintage Paws Animal Rescue
Read more about Olive
Meet Olive! Olive is an approximately three-year-old female Chihuahua mix, weighing around 15-pounds. Olive came to the Frosted Faces shelter over a year ago, as one of twenty-five dogs who were taken in from a severe hoarding case. All of the dogs were fearful to varying degrees and only a few were social enough to be adopted. Olive has been working hard on her social skills and is finally at a point we are comfortable listing her for adoption! Olive is still quite shy, but with those she knows, she will allow them to pick her up and seeks out attention and pets. Olive LOVES a good back/booty scratch and will kick her hind leg when you've found the spot! Olive does well with her kennel mate and is used to being around other small dogs (unknown on large dogs/cats). We are sure you noticed that Olive has just one eye. She developed a cyst on her eye and unfortunately the eye could not be saved, despite seeing the eye specialist. This does not seem to bother Olive overall and she still gets around great. Olive will need a patient and secure home environment that is willing to go slow and let her come to them on her terms. She likely will take time to warm up to a new environment, but we promise you there will be nothing more rewarding than that first moment Olive decides to trust you. <3
Olive's adoption fee includes spay surgery, vaccinations up to date, and microchip. Email chitownrescue@gmail.com and we will get you in touch with the Frosted Faces shelter for a meet and greet.

29. Meatball
Young · Male · Cane Corso Mastiff · 85 mi from Prescott Valley

MEET MEATBALL — YES, THE NAME FITS.
Meatball is exactly what you would expect from a dog named Meatball: big, goofy, handsome, slightly ridiculous, and completely lovable.
This sweet meathead is actually more of a calm, mellow guy. He isn’t looking to run a marathon or solve complicated problems. His goals in life are pretty simple:
Eat good snacks.
Hang out with his people.
Play with a pretty girl dog.
Take a nap.
Repeat.
Meatball loves female dogs and would be happiest in a home with a large-breed female buddy he can romp around with. We haven’t tested him with male dogs yet.
Read more about Meatball
He would also be fine with kids around 7 years and older. Not because he’s mean — quite the opposite — but because Meatball is a lumbering giant who may accidentally send a little kid flying just by turning around.
Meatball came to us after being removed from a neglectful situation. When he arrived, he was terribly thin and you could see every rib and bone on his body.
Thankfully, those days are behind him.
Now he is filling out beautifully and turning into the giant, goofy Meatball he was always supposed to be.
House trained
Rides well in the car
Pretty decent on leash
Loves female dogs
Professional cuddler
Certified goofball
And Meatball has VERY quickly learned that rescue life comes with excellent snacks.
His current food pyramid consists of:
Cow cheek rolls
Bully sticks
Chicken feet
Duck feet
Tracheas
And the most important food group of all… COSTCO COOKIES.
Meatball is looking for someone who wants a big, handsome shadow following them around the house, leaning against them for affection, and staring at them like they are the greatest human being on Earth.
He has already experienced what it feels like to be forgotten.
Now he deserves to be someone’s whole world.
Think you need a Meatball in your life?
30. Mabel
Young · Female · Mastiff · 85 mi from Prescott Valley

This sweet 3-year-old girl has so much going for her.
Very dog social
Good with cats
House trained
Crate trained
Best with kids 5+
Working on her leash manners
Mabel is the kind of dog who just wants to be part of a family. She wants someone to play with, someone to cuddle with, and a home where she knows she belongs.
She has already spent enough time wondering where her people are.

Why adopt an adult dog in Prescott Valley
An adult dog's personality is fully formed, so the rescue can tell you how they are with people, other pets and busy households. Many have lived in foster homes and are already house-trained.
Grown dogs need less supervision than puppies and often know the basics, like sitting and walking on a leash, which suits people who work or have young children.
